I think we’ve talked about Dexter in another thread recently. I like the show. Season 2 came out on DVD and I just finished it. I liked season 2 about as much as I liked season 1, but his sister still annoys the hell out of me.

Isaac Hayes was off that show way before he died.

Where have you been?[/quote]

Haha I do know that they recorded a lot of Chef material before he left, whose going to replace him?

So I have been playing Soul Caliber for about a week now and am having fun with it. I have made some cool characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, M.Bison and some guys I just made up. Online is hard as shit and I loose more than I win for sure. But I still cant wait for Tekken, I dont know why it hasnt come out here yet when its been out in Japan…assholes

But I just traded in most of my PS2 games(kept God of War 1 and 2 and FF XIII) and got a 2nd controller and Madden for $20. Only got to play Madden for about an hr. plays just like every other one. But dose anyone else think the Bench press drill is hard as shit? I cant get more than 12

I don’t know if anyone’s going to replace him. The show took a different turn in the later seasons to play off a lot of world/current events, and a lot of pop culture shit. They don’t really need chef anymore. I saw an interview with Matt and Trey and they said Chef had a problem with the scientology episode, and they had a choice to air the episode, or Isaac would quit. They chose to run the episode and Isaac left all on his own, and could have come back if he wanted, but I doubt it’s possible now.

The show isn’t like what it was in the beginning. The plot lines no longer deal with the characters and their lives directly. It’s always some current/popular media object or something that is the background plot, with the characters playing it out in their lives. I still think it’s funny as hell, but the show has evolved to a point where individual characters don’t matter as much.

New and final season of The Shield premieres next Tuesday.

Just recently bought Season 5 and Season 6 DVD to refresh on stuff.

I hope that rat bastard Shane and his wife get what’s coming to them.

Oh and the Force Unleashed demo rocks, thought the book was pretty good too. My favorite past time in that game is putting Stormtroopers on the edges of cliffs and then throwing lightning-charged objects at them to get them to jump off to their deaths. Or making them grip an object and then pull it over a ledge and let go. DEFINITELY getting this when it releases.

2008 has been (and will probably continue to be) a very good year for entertainment.

I don’t really keep up with videogames anymore and I never really followed any other avenues of geekdom, but to this day Morrowind owns my life.

I’ve grown apathetic towards gaming to the point that I won’t even glance at my PC games or my console for months, but if I run that game I’ll stay locked in my room festering in front of the laptop from morning to morning oblivious to life for weeks on end.

Not good enough to buy a new one. The slimmer model is good enough and the PS button they spoke of is an idea they already installed in both the blue ray remote control (sold separately) and the six axis hand controller.

I do like the idea of making it easier to adapt to regular tvs, but again, they should have made that the next step after the original model instead of coming out with a slimmer version and THEN waiting for this.

I doubt most who have a slim version will upgrade soon.

Ah, but I don’t have one yet. If the slim one ends up being cheaper than this one (I’m sure it will), then I will get the slim one. I’d love one of the red PSPs or even the ceramic white.

Side note:

I overheard a very cute girl say, “I bought Soul Calibur for BOTH of us,” I assume referring to a boyfriend, and I couldn’t contain myself knowing that hot girls exist who not only play games but are concerned with expanding their game libraries.

Imagine the angry sex that could result from simply besting your girl’s high score.

Side note #2:

I sat in on a graduate lecture today. The class covers the exact topic I want to study in graduate school, but the actual area of study is not offered at my university. I convinced the professor to let me sit in despite not being enrolled and despite it being against his ‘policy.’ (fuck policy)

Even better, I told my the advising professor of my major about this, and he said he’d try to get the two (expensive) texts for that class from the publisher, for free, so that I could borrow them for the semester.

I think ambition is the greatest factor in conviction. Bitches!

Id like to get a PSP for God of War and The FF VII game that came out but im not in any real hurry. Would be nice to find a Darth Vader PSP still, “collectible”

Any who I ended up taking Madden back today. I was really disappointed with the game. I didnt like the create-a-player or The superstar mode at all. The Franchise mode was really limited compared to what it had been in the past.

As far as the Game play goes it was a little one sided. I would throw for 500 yards and couldnt run for more than 50, and if I did have a run longer than 4 yards it was on a draw play. Plus the game froze on me 5 or 6 times…I thought that went out with cartridges?

Any way I know some ppl have said the pros out way the cons…JMO…but im inclined to disagree. I think that after 20 years of Madden they could have putted something together better that what they did. I would say check out NCAA or Tiger Woods Golf. Luckly I got it used and my money back, it will be a few years b4 I play Madden again

Has anyone played Mercenaries 2?

I hope it’s as good as the first, that was a very good game.

The FF VII game is ok. My stepson has it and I’ve played it a little. I’m a huge FF buff but this game was just kind of boring to me. Nice graphics just couldn’t keep me interested.

Were you playing with My Skill turned on or off? I found that using custom sliders is really the only way to go in Madden, otherwise you wind up with crazy stats.

I haven’t even jumped into Franchise mode yet, as I heard there were freezing issues (being fixed in Patch 2, out soon) and as you said, it’s limited in terms of what you can do.

But, I still enjoy the game. Sorry it didn’t work out for you. I guess I’m enjoying it more b/c I took a 4-year break from Madden.

You have NCAA? How do you like it? I really wanted to get that over Madden, but no local Gamestop carried it and I had to buy a new game from there to take advantage of the trade-in deal.

I won’t be upgrading anytime soon. Hell, I just got the slim (gray one bundled with Daxter, which is a really fun game) not even 6 months ago. No way I’m going to trade my current PSP in, lose a bunch of money on it and buy a newer model.

I would love to see a mmorpg for the 360 come out - I know Age of Conan is due, but not for another year.

Fable 2 isn’t mmorpg, but it’s got a coop mode that looks kinda cool.

Check out some of the screenshots.

Fable 2 is one of the games I’ve been waiting for a while.

I tried it every way you could think of. I played with My Skills, the problem with that is every thing was either in All-Madden or close to it. I tried playing from All-Madden to Pro and had more or less the same results. And Im one of those pound the ball type of players then run the play-action 80yards down the field and I cant do that if I cant run the ball.

I havent played NCAA this year but its always a better game than Madden is to me

I am a huge fan of NCAA, I bought it in '01 and haven’t played Madden since. To me it is what a football sim should be.
