Hey, do you guys know if they released the Jasper 360s yet?
The one that’s supposed to have a GPU die shrink so it outputs less heat?
I’d spring for one of those post-holiday season.

Yeah, I thought the first two seasons were phenomenal, particularly the ending of season 2. Really intense.
I didn’t keep up with season 3 and when 4 came on, I only watched a few. But yes, the writers in general are excellent, though season 4 got repetitive.
The side stories of seasons 1 and 2 were awesome. I hope the same is true of 3 and 4 when I watch them on DVD.
Oh, and the absolute best writing I’ve ever seen?
Californication. It was on Showtime. Wicked writing and Duchovny is an animal for nailing that role like a cheap hooker.
The only other shows I watch like this are CSI Vegas and Lost, both of which have at least a couple of shows that are boring as hell and could have been left out. I can’t say the same about House. I wasn’t sure where they were going at the beginning of the season, but by the last episode, my only hope is that this isn’t the last one.

Agree on the House thing - I started watching the first and 2nd series, but I’ve missed most of the later 2 because of moving countries and stuff. It’s good stuff - maybe a box set is in order.
Californication I’ve seen a few episodes of, but I caught the 1st season here towards the end, though it does look good.

"65 Nm GPUs For Xbox 360 In Production, Xbox ‘540’ Coming In 2009
Xbox 360’s featuring the new ‘Jasper’ configuration are expected to roll of the assemblyline sometime next month.
The Jasper motherboard will replace the existing Falcon motherboard which appears to have put a signifigant dent in the dreaded RROD curse almost a year on from it’s debut in 2007. (Some have claimed as low as 4% although this is not officially confirmed as yet)
The Jasper configuration will feature the smaller 65nm CPU (processor) currently found on the Falcon - but will now replace the aging 90nm Graphics Processor with a 65nm variant similiar to the Falcon CPU. It’s anticipated that Jasper will run even cooler than Falcons and experience a similiar (if not better) failure rate. While details identifying Jasper motherboards in shops are not available yet - it’s logical to assume that the new variant will feature a power output less than the existing 175w required by Falcons or the 203w required by the RROD-prone Zephyrs.
…and Jasper’s replacement is already in the works. Sometime in 2009, Microsoft is planning to introduce an even smaller chipset for the gpu and cpu in the 45nm range. It’s rumoured that this new configuration will feature in a new slimline version of the X360 already being dubbed the ‘Xbox 540.’ Not yet nicknamed, the slimline Xbox 360 is expected to be the last architecture variant of the 360’s console lifecycle which will serve until the 360 is finally retired in favour of a newer generation."
The Jasper was due to be out in August, not sure if it’s been released yet though. Supposedly hitting stores first week of September.

Yes, a bunch of us were talking about it a few pages back. The demo came out for it last week. Based on the demo, I was impressed. It looks like it’s going to be a very fun game. I played it on both PS3 and 360 because I wanted to make sure there weren’t any major differences before I buy it.
Did anyone push the I-beams in the Tie fighter hanger into the way of the on coming Tie Fighters? I thought that was the coolest shit.

Lost is still on? I used to love that show until the 3rd season, I just couldn’t keep up with it anymore.
House is great I only just caught a few episodes 2 months ago when they had a marathon on, a shame they didn’t run the episodes of the marathon in order!!! Freaking USA Network!!

House MD season four is out on dvd.
I know I’m biased because of the medical angle, but this has to be one of the best shows on tv. They need to loan the writers of this show out to every other show.
Honestly.
Hugh Laurie must be one of the most gifted actors of our generation. That may seem extreme, but I believe he’s that good. The writing on the show is amazing as well.

I was concerned when they changed the format of the show rather dramatically in the last season, but by the end, it opened up a world of new storyline possibilities.
Some funky shit that can be done with Nintendo wii remote:

Hugh Laurie is the embodiment of comedic timing. If you watch the behind the scenes on the Season 1 DVD, they say he walked into the script reading and used an American accent because the director didn’t want someone British. He nails the role, then shakes the hand of the director and lets out his British accent.
Classic.
And Olivia Wilde (sp) from Season 4 is a knockout.

I can’t believe they went the direction they did for the season finale. If they come back, the chemistry is going to be drastically different between him and Wilson.
For the record, Wilson’s acting in those last two episodes was pretty fucking good as well. He went through at least three different clear emotions in the last scene without saying a word.
Oh, man. Don’t say another word; I haven’t watched consistently since the end of Season 2. I’ll have to watch Seasons 3 and 4 now.
Wilson is a badass.
And Cuddy is just stupid hot.

Then I have to add one more spoiler:
“Gratuitous lingerie shot of Cuddy while she dances around a stripper pole in season four”

That’s it, I’m ditching my Philosophy of Aesthetics class…
Not together anymore…
And Prof, I agree completely. As if the dynamic between House and Wilson wasn’t interesting enough already.

I did! As soon as I realized you could grab those I wondered if I could push them into the path of the Tie Fighter. It was pretty cool to do it.

Does anyone like Dexter? In my opinion that show’s the best on tv right now. South park comes into second place, although it’s a shame Isaac Hayes has passed away.
I am the greatest Counter Strike Source Player in the world…
Also selling world of Warcraft accounts…!!
I picked up Madden '09 the other day for my 360. Initially I was going to stay away from the game b/c of the bugs/glitches I’d read about, but I was able to take advantage of a sweet trade-in deal and only had to pay $7 for the game when it was all said and done.
Now, Madden is not perfect. There are things that drive you nuts. I just played a game where a Buffalo DB literally jumped through my WR to intercept a ball. Robo QB is in there, but there are ways to negate that. And the lack of atmosphere/presentation is annoying.
But, overall, I have to say the game plays very well. If you use Custom sliders instead of the Madden I.Q. (I found it makes the A.I. not as sharp) you can get some really competitive games going. Even though there are no CPU sliders, the human sliders do appear to affect both you and the CPU.
The running game is nice and responsive. No “mario running” which is nice. Ocassionally your blockers will not block the man right in front of them, but it doesn’t happen all the time. Passing game is fluid; you really have to go through your progressions on some plays to find an open guy.
Defensive-offensive line interaction is still the same. I am seeing more pressure/sacks from the DL, especially compared to the non-existent pass rush in NCAA.
So if anyone’s on the fence about buying this game or not, I’d say it’s worth the purchase. The things the game does well outweigh the faults.

Isaac Hayes was off that show way before he died.
Where have you been?
