Geek S**T

Guilty. I once built 4 PC’s and dungeon mastered them myself up to level 9 using random dungeon/monster/treasure generation before I realized how incredibly geeky this was.

I find it interesting the D&D players are even outcasts in a Geet S**T thread. Even the death of Gary Gygax failed to get a post on the Get a Life Thread.

Ray Park is who will play Iron Fist. I didn’t know he was Darth Maul as well.

He’s supposedly play in Snake Eyes in GI Joe movie. Outside him and Dennis Quiad,I’m not sold on the casting so far. Marlon Wayans as Ripcord? Dude from Step Up as Duke? Hmmm.

I’m really looking forward to Fallout 3, done by Bethesda who did all the Elder Scrolls games. I have hundreds of hours total in both Morrowind and Oblivion. I would love a Fallout game with that level of freedom to just explore and do whatever you want.

Seconded. I rarely pre-order games (rarely buy for that matter…) but I’ve had money down on that for a while now.

I confess that I like Full Metal Alchemist…alot.

I watch quite a bit of animated things, mostly on Adult Swim. My favorite being The Venture Brothers, (I admire Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer tremendously) of which I got my namesake. I like Home Movies, Metalocalypse, basically everything Brendan Small takes part in creating seems to put a big fat smile on my face. My ideal life would put me in music, but short of that…being part of a writing crew creating a show for Adult Swim would be a dream job.

I don’t know if that makes me some sort of geek half breed, but I sure as hell don’t find much common ground for discussion with the Coach purse crowd.
The Venture Brothers is my favorite show on television, along side Ninja warrior. I wouldn’t qualify it as geek because geeks tend to take themselves way too seriously, where as Venture Brothers has managed to make fun of every comic book and kid’s cartoon ever made. Of course, you have to be a geek to get the references.

Just about everything else on Adult Swim is great too.

The cartoon with the ass cheeks that are the cop and Tom Goes to the Mayor suck major balls. 12oz Mouse has some funny moments, but on the whole sucks. On the whole it’s quality television and satisfies a nice niche that no other channel would touch.

My sister loves Tom Goes to the Mayor and that new one, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job. I have no idea why. That show Xavier with the awful CG animation sucks balls as well.

I used to dislike The Squidbillies too, but they’ve started to grow on me, maybe because I am too lazy to change the channel, and I used to deliver pizza to folks like that.

Why did you have to go and post that? The ads for Devil May Cry 4 were already too much temptation to buy a PS3, and now this pushed me over the edge. Thanks a bunch…

Then there is this, from the back of Chains of Olympus for the PSP.
That may finally crush my will and force me to buy a PS3.

I do not know if it would count, but Ninja Warrior is always fun to watch.

I’d say its Geek Elite Lol…Yes the references they make not only old cartoon wise are solid, but musically and with regards to a wide range of pop culture in general too. I’m dying for the new season to come out, they forecasted it originally for November, but yet here we are in March. Ventureless.

I used to live around people straight out of Squidbillies, so I love that show. The one episode where he has to shout out his deepest emotions on the cliff and he can only think of Skynyrd deep cuts cracks me up for hours.

Yeah Donut, Assy McGee was pretty sloppy. I don’t know who gave that one the greenlight… I imagine it was some douche in the corner at the meeting who chimed in with 'sure, why not an ass cop thats totally rogue and troubled… the kids went for a meatball, a shake and a pack of fries, lets do it!" = That’s the guy I should be replacing.

Xavier the renegade angel feels like a bad acid trip. It has a real nightmare quality to it, and I use the term quality loosely… its warped but with very little redeeming comic value.

Squidbillies has its moments, I will agree with that. Tom goes to the mayor, pretty much boring, but the Tim and Eric Awesome show entertains me. Its not a favorite but I always watch, out of pure curiosity…and I’ve noticed it has good guest stars sometimes.

One show that is new to the line up is Garth Merenghi’s Darkplace (the cast is in my avatar) …It’s the best new show they’ve added, its a bit british in humor but an honest to god killer 80’s show spoof/bad horror conglomeration. It’s alot of things, all good.

I always look forward to the Sunday night line-ups.

So…I’m a music geek.

I play the tuba. I own my own. I never borrowed one from school, bought my own. It was silver (gold plated mouthpiece) and cost almost $9000 retail. I paid about $4500.

I was in marching band in high school. It wasn’t the stylish, graphic-novel-reading geeky, just the regular kind.

I was also the runner up for my junior high science fair and I enjoy watching the History channel.

Hell, sometimes, Nat Geo, Discovery, and the History Channel have the shows that are the most interesting to watch, no matter what else is on.

Sorry, didn’t care for it. I even played on a 56" LCD. Of course, wii doesn’t have HD games.

Anyone for a game of Heroscape?

Speaking of AS, what the fuck is up with Metalocalypse? They played like 4 new episodes and then it wasn’t on anymore.

I have a love/hate thing with AS. Why they play Inuyasha all the fucking time is beyond me. I think I’ve seen the whole series 10 times over now. But when it comes to Anime, they really have their hands tied with censorship and what not. Anyone watching Black Lagoon on Starz? That is some cool shit.

I could also see an uber nerd watching this and not laughing

Fuck that. G4 sucks dick as a channel. When it was TechTV it was cool, but now it’s only redeeming quality is Morgan Webb who’s goal in life is to kill my hard on for her every day by dressing like a blind retarded refugee from the future.

Huge comic collector as a kid, and I spent 5 years working as the editor in chief for a gaming magazine, plus did freelance work for UGO.com - I even got a job offer from IGN. : )

I have a 360, PS3 and am online with both consoles.

Now where’s my pocket protector? I need to tape the bridge on these glasses too…
