The only reason I held out on getting a PS3…its finally coming June 12th. Currently trying to pre-order/reserve the bundle pack w/game and Dual Shock 3 controller.
Why did you have to go and post that? The ads for Devil May Cry 4 were already too much temptation to buy a PS3, and now this pushed me over the edge. Thanks a bunch…

No problem. My wife hates me now, too. I’m preparing the divorce papers already…lol. I tell you something sad: I just noticed “Grey Fox” Drive…one block from my house. I need professional help.

Hmmm, I did not know that listening to Radiohead was a geek thing. Anyway, I’m a software engineer (and I listen to Radiohead). However, I dont play computer games, I have NEVER played Dungeons and Dragons, I don’t play those Geek card games that have to do with Star Wars, dont wear a pocket protector. I don’t discuss Design Patterns in my off-time, nor do I apply METHODOLOGIES when ordering a meal at a restaurant. I don’t wear tassled shoes. I dont wear fucking Polo shirts. My shirt wardrobe includes no freebie t-shirts that I got at the Java Expo. I dont wear those obnoxious headphone cellurar phones. I dont wear tighty-whities and often go commando (I know. Too much information).
So, with all of the above, I hope that gets me down to about 50 percent geek.

SKYNET!!![/quote]
Not quite Skynet, but close. The last incarnation ran almost 1000mhz overclocked on the core and 80mhz over on the bus. I had homemade heatsinks thermal epoxied on the voltage reg chips and northbridge with 11 fans powered by a second PSU that I had rigged to start by shorting the main 12v with a ground on the 24 pin connector. It required a drone hard drive to draw off the 12v rail so it wouldn’t burn up.
I used 3 motorcycle radiators in the freezer running in circuit with an aquarium pump and a turtle food container for the reservoir/fill tank. A copper DangerDen waterblock and a homemade spring loaded through the board mounting system with offboared thermistor temperature monitoring.
I used the motherboard tray from an Enlight case and an old cd server for the “case” with the drives on the bottom, 4 in 2 raid zero arrays. The memory bus, front side bus and core were all modded to run at higher than spec voltages, which made possible the high overclocked speeds and which also made necessary all that cooling to keep it all from blowing up.
My bench scores were sometimes 20-40% higher than machines costing 1000 dollars more.
All function no beauty. I loved that machine and took great pride in it, but it was eventually not possible to maintain financially after several years and incarnations.

I want to see the Black Panther comics made into a movie. Does anyone remember the Christopher Priest series through Marvel comics?
I also love 2000AD comics.
On computer games does anyone play Diablo 2, Starcraft or Age of Empires 3? All very good games. I think I will buy God of War now seeing as Professor X keep’s going on about how excellent it is.

Black Panther would need to be big budget to be done right. I think Wesley Snipes is too old for that part now. They need someone who is about 25-35. I think Stan Lee (I think he is who created the character) really stumbled onto something with that one. The hard part would be showing an advanced African society that makes everyone else in the world look primitive. The socio-political aspect would need to be deep as well so I don’t even know how that would fit as a stereotypical “superhero movie”.
How do you do a movie on that character and not go into issues like Darfur?
John Singleton said in a recent interview that he was approached about doing Black Panther…and listed his choice of actors…Derek Luke or Chiwetel Ejiofor(good actor, but older). He’s also stated he’s actually been trying to develop a Luke Cage movie.
On a side note,Mark Wahlberg is the lead in Max Payne movie.

Then there is this, from the back of Chains of Olympus for the PSP.

Luke Cage is already being filmed. Tyrese is the lead and is rumored to be bulking up for the role to a size where he can bench press 405lbs in his own training. If he really pulls that off, this might actually work.

The Black panther is such a cool character, I always liked when he was in The Avengers. The funny thing is the character actually predated the Black Panther Party by 3 months, and as a result of I think Jim Crow laws they had to rename him The Coal Tiger for a little while. I was looking forward to Ultimates 2 with T’Challa but then they made him a mutant and I was like but huh

I met Ray Park at an autograph signing, very humble guy, and he was talking about an Iron Fist film and he wanted Snipes as Power Man, this was 8 or so years ago after Episode I and X-Men when he was supposed to be the next “it” actor.

I disagree Wesley Snipes still appears and performs in a very youthful manner. Actually if i’m right his new film Gallowwalker (a vampire/western action flick) should be bloody good.
Yea BP was created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby.
Alternatively I reckon if someone like Snipes teamed up with John Carpenter on the directorial side of a BP film and got Djimon Hounsou to be BP it could be a great film.
The movie would have to be a series like a trilogy to address the complex plotlines too. This way they could address topics like Darfur later on once the protaginist has been reasonably established. I mean you first want to attain a following in the first movie and once you have captured the audience more serious issues could be introduced.

Exactly. While he may qualify as a mutant considering his family lineage, he was really just a well skilled human being who had his own natural abilities amplified by ingesting that root. You had to be the most skilled fighter, however, to even have access to that root. He would relate more to Batman only with even more money and more elaborate gadgets.
He supposedly has random vehicles stashed all over the world just in case he needs to make a quick getaway…from anywhere. His society is the leader of the world’s technology so even Batman would have to play catch up.

The guy who played Toad in X-Men I is the guy who will be Iron Fist in his own film. There was supposedly a problem with the rights to the character so some elements are going to be changed…like his girlfriend in the comic books. They have to keep the Powerman character completely separate…which in my opinion reduces the effectiveness of the character.
Big_Boss I doubt John Singleton would be able to pull it off.
A Iron Fist film would be awesome (but who could pull that off as a lead?) and i’m looking forward to Luke Cage too. I always loved that concept of being in jail in desperation and then being given a super soldier serum and busting out. I wonder if Ronnie Coleman could have been Luke Cage? LOL.
