Dead Space
Killzone 2
Gears of War 2
Fable 2
Let me list the big ones.
I read all 3 of the Lord of the Rings novels twice before the end of 8th grade.
I also have at least a hundred hours each invested in 4-5 different Morrowind characters (regular and GOTY) editions on both Xbox and PC and am currently going through to finish everything that I possibly can.
On that note, I also have 130+ hours invested in an Oblivion character on 360 and slowly working towards completing every quest in Tamriel and the Shivering Isles.
I’m also a Dungeon Master :D.

Okay… got Too Human yesterday, played it a decent amount today. It’s not too bad, I don’t understand why it’s getting crucified so badly by critics. Not as deep or complex as God of War or Ninja Gaiden’s combat system, but worth at least a rental for anyone with a 360 that enjoys action/adventure games.
Same here. I’m enjoying, too. The reviews have been pretty bad across the board, but I think it’s fun. Then again, I like the Diablo-like loot drops.
Anything else about Too Human?
I was really psyched for it and then I read the reviews which seemed pretty harsh.
If you’ve ever played Diablo, think of it as a big, cybernetic-version of that mixed with Norse mythology. It’s pretty fucking cool, to be totally honest. The combat is a bit monotonous, but there are some cool things you can do, coupled with a really deep and extensive equipment creating and customization scheme for your character.
It reminds me a lot of God of War in terms of its epic-ness, (though GoW was still BIGGER,) but the story hasn’t really pulled me in too much yet. I’m only just now on level 3, though, I have like six other games I’m currently playing! Anyway, I’d recommend it, but if you want an action game I still recommend Ninja Gaiden II more.

I think alot of the negative stuff is that on XBL its only 2 player. And then on top of that the healer class, not sure what it is off the top of my head, but b/c its only one or two player the class is worthless. It got a 7.5 or 7.9 on IGN, not a bad score but not a great one.
I think it has the same problem as alot of games right now, If its not a Big name and has any hype around it, then it gets rushed and they hury to get the game out. I would rather see them hold the game 3-6 more months and get it right. Make it at the minimum 5 or 6 players.
From what I saw of the game, it look good. I to like the loot system the game has. There can never be to many different weapons or Armor in a game.
Side note, Dose the PS3 come with AV cabels or can I use my PS2 AV cabels?
It comes with AV cables but that won’t allow HD viewing.
The HDMI cables are like 20 bucks at Walmart…and 70-80 bucks at Circuit City…unless you can talk them down on that price…like I did.
I would have loved to have seen this at Circuit City. Not because I doubt you, but because it would be priceless to literally see someone’s nuts crawl back in their body as you mention your request to pay a lower price. The fact that they are charging triple or more is an insult, when you can go to Radio Shack or Ebay and get it for so much less.
I wouldn’t have known how to approach it if it weren’t for this thread. I didn’t even know what an HDMI cable was before this.
They know full well they are charging over 3 times the usual price. They also seem to come down at that price if you are knowledgeable enough and they think they are making a big sale off of you.
I understand what you mean, there is an Italian saying which basically translates to “sometimes you have to show your balls.” This world has become a place where people will try to take advantage of you at any given time. There are no manners or integrity, they have gone the way of the dinosaur.
As I am looking into this (getting a PS3), I can see how they won’t make a killing on the sale of the unit itself. Competition keeps most prices relatively close for the most part. But the cable issue is downright illegal.
So I did it, I went and got a PS3 today. My one question is How long do the updates normaly take?

Mine took all of 2-3min per game. It only has to do it once.
I bought soul cal IV for the PS3 last weekend and it is a lot of fun. I have it hooked up to my 50inch plasma which I don’t think I could play on anything smaller now. Plus, I would rather be playing a video games for 30 min compared to watching a stupid reality show at night.
Why have people quit talking about GTA IV? Did it get boring that quickly?
No, I still play that along with metal gear solid 4. I switch back and forth. My young nephews play it (GTA IV) all the time when they come over. They have it at their house too so I don’t feel too bad they are playing that game.

Many of us have had it for the 4 months it’s been out, I don’t know about everyone else but I can’t play a game for any longer than 4 - 6 weeks before wanting to play something else. I’ll probably pick it back up when there’s a drought of games, like I did with San Andreas. Great game though, well worth the 60 bucks.
The only games I play for longer than a month are usually sports games.
damn in my view anyone who has over 22000 posts on the interwebz is 100% geek… fo sho!

Honestly, it lacks the depth that San Andreas had. The activities are limited, It’s still a great overall experience.

I dont mean the games them selves Im talking the whole system going from 2.36 to patch 2.42. If I try doing it strait to the PS3 it takes FOREVER then it will stop and give me an error. Then if I try to do it state to my PC it take FOREVER and it will say connection to server has been cut
(EDIT) ok so I just d/c my PS3 from my Internet and my PC DL the update in just a few mins. WHY? would my PS3 suck up so much bandwith that It cant even do anything?
A Project I contribute to (occasionally): http://www.fortress-forever.com/

Thanks.
I rarely get games anymore, the last one I bought was GoWII and Mass Effect before that. So I try to pick and choose games.

Yes, I agree with most of this. I don’t know if I just matured a lot, but it seems like all those things that use to be fun weren’t as much so anymore. Yes, it was hilarious the first time I beat some poor asshole up in GTA IV and watched them slowly hobble away, but there were no jet packs!
I still say they essentially just port San Andreas to 360.

I just got it…and I think I know what the problem is. There is no connection between this character and an American audience. Even with San Andreas, I think most of us could relate to the main character to some degree.
This game will probably be received even better overseas because of that.
