That I have to pay to play online with the 360 is horseshit.

Are you saying I can play PS3 games on my PSP remotely?

Oh. I agree.

You guys got FUCKED.

I honestly can’t imagine the X-Box being better than the PS3. The design is awesome. It makes NO noise while running and the tech controls are about as easy to use as you can make them (based on the PSP tech controls). It also automatically updates from the internet.

Long term, i don’t see the X-Box winning out here. The Blu Ray makes regular dvds look better if you have HD. I’ve tested this out three times already and you can definitely see a difference.

I like my 360 and there are some good games out for it. However, I think they made a lot of mistakes this time around. It’s too loud, the hardware has high failure rates, they didn’t include either an HD or Blu-Ray drive, they had too many versions (basic, pro, elite).

The 360 Elite cost over $500 when it first came out and still didn’t include either an HD or Blu-Ray drive, yet it still suffered from all the problems that the earlier models did. That’s ridiculous!

I think a lot of people feel burned by Microsoft right now. I’m sure I’m not the only person that will think twice before buying the next XBOX. If there even will be another XBOX.

I think Sony got it right with the PS3. I’m not sure I’ve been more satisfied with any console ever, as I am with the PS3.
Sith Lord,
Man, you make a lot of great points here. I switched over to a 360 this generation and am now having major second thoughts. It’s probably too late for me and I’d take too big a hit if I were to switch to a PS3, but if I had to do it all over again, I would’ve stayed with Sony, especially since Microsoft lost huge with its gamble to support HD over Blue-Ray. I had a PS and PS2 and both were awesome machines.

I really hate that I have to pay $50/year just to play games online. I’m not a big online gamer, so I don’t pay, but it would be nice to have the option to play a game online if I wanted to without having to subscribe to something in order to do it.

Thankfully (knocking on wood) my 360 hasn’t crashed yet, but that’s probably only b/c I don’t play it more than an hour at a time.

But, there are things about the 360 I really like. It does have a great gaming library. I don’t love shooters, but I’ve grown to like the genre more since buying a 360 and the sports titles are numerous, which is key for me. I also prefer the 360’s controller to Sony’s.

As I mentioned a page back, I might get a Wii as I’ve always been a Nintendo supporter and like their 3rd-party sports offerings that are coming to the table.

Whenever the next round of consoles comes out, I’ll be looking towards Sony and Nintendo and will likely stay away from Microsoft.

Not all of them. Most of the disc-based games don’t have the feature, except Lair, but that game is awful anyways.

There’s a rough list of what you can play. I know all of the PS1 classics you buy from the PS Store can be played on both systems, like Tekken.

I use it mainly to access the store at work or up at Starbucks during lunch when I want to have a demo or downloadable game installed and ready to play when I get home.

Just ordered my PSP (going hardcore with the God of War special edition), Tekken: Dark Res., a madden title, and a spare battery (it’s white, but it was $5) so I can bend a pin and load some emulators/roms on that bitch.

Playing NeoGeo/SNK’s Garou, Street Fighter Alpha anthology, and Beavis and Butthead on the PSP = Complete win.

I’ve always hated Microsoft, but the original Xbox was better than a PS2 IMO, since it came with a hard drive at that stage and loads of games too. This was a big plus for me.

I thought the 360 would be a big step ahead, only to find out I was missing a lot of the features PS3 had - and I forked out top dollar on an Elite model. Cunts. You get a 120gb hard drive - but can you store anything other than downloads, ripped cds and save games? Noooooo.

I will say, now that I have a wireless adapter, the only bother is it’s a bit loud and you pay for online play (although online play for the 360 is still miles ahead of the PS3). Other than that, it is great - especially as a media center and the 1080p HD looks superb.

I’ll probably give it another half a year and get a PS3 too, as Vader once suggested, for the extra games and the Blu-Ray.

Everyone’s talkin’ 'bout blu-ray . . .

does no one pirate movies anymore?

I mean, card-carrying geek I am, I’m buying the Hulk, Iron Man, and Batman: DK collector’s edition discs when they come out, but still. Be an honest man; get that shit free.

I like my Wii, but I don’t play it that much. I’ve only played Zelda and Metroid for the Wii. I liked both of them. I’m not completely up to date on their game library, but a lot of the Wii’s games just don’t appeal to me.

Since you like sports games, I think you’ll enjoy it more than I do. Those seem to be the types of games that are the most fun on the Wii. Even the Wii Sports game it comes with is pretty fun to play.

I do, what do you think I’m streaming to the 360? I have a relatively small collection of DVD’s, but I don’t have a lot of space to store too many for the time being.

I mainly buy music DVD’s, and movies such as the ones mentioned above.

I don’t buy Blurays right now because they’re still too expensive. I rent them like crazy from Netflix though, because they don’t charge extra for it (yet).

I only own 2 - Spiperman 3 and Planet Earth. S3 came with the bundle, and Planet Earth is easily worth the $50.

I really don’t buy a ton of movies anymore except for the ‘big’ titles or movies I just absolutely love. I’m really looking forward to seeing stuff like Iron Man, Hulk and TDK on Blu-Ray.

For some reason though, I’ve never had an issue with downloading music, but I just don’t do it with movies.

I download everything; movies, music, comics, games, books. Hell, give me enough time, I’ll figure out a way to torrent the slip-cases for the big box-set dvds

I still buy the comics I torrent, and the music I like. The comics are for a “readers copy” for issues I don’t get in collected editions, and the music torrenting is my way of listening to the radio.

The 360 release was in typical Microsoft fashion - stuff didn’t work. I’ve sent mine back in for a new processor because I had one of the originals. Now the CD drive makes a ton of noise.

That would piss me off. It surprised me that so many X-Box fans were so casual with the updates and repairs as if that was normal. If I pay over 400 bucks for something, I want it to work right. I would have sold mine and bought a PS3 if that was me. Instead, X-Box lovers seem to act like the ‘rings of death’ are a pop culture status symbol.
I’ll never forget the YouTube videos teaching you how to cook the mother board to get the 3 rings of death to go away. Microsoft’s all class.

I like my silver PSP, but I really wanted the God of War SE when it was announced.

What version of Madden are you buying, Vash? I’ve read a bunch and it seems like the consensus amongst Madden gamers on the PSP is that the '08 version is the best. I’m thinking of picking it up used here soon.

I plan on only buying the big blockbusters on Blue Ray. I have Batman Begins (and they gave Night in a Museum for free when I bought the system). It makes dvds look good enough for that to not really be an issue.

I’ll get Ironman, Hulk and Batman when they come out, but that may be it for a while. They cost too damn much.

Sigh… Oh how quickly you guys forget the greatness that is the 360. It was this time a year ago when you guys salivated and had a circle jerk over a little game called Gears of War. How you guys jumped up in glee and awe when you first curbed stomped a dying locust grunt. Or how you jumped in fear when the beserker first burst in looking for blood. You guys have short term memory. Yes the PS3 has a blue ray player and that is a very attractive component but…the games are lacking.

In every comparison done by numerous video game websites the 360 version of multi-platform games are superior in almost every catagory To the PS3. Even GTA:IV for the 360 has more content to be uploaded that is EXCLUSIVE to the 360. Sony is losing most of their exclusive developers. Square has jumped ship and is now developing Final Fantasy for the 360. Sony held on to MGS for dear life because they know that is the only property that will sell there system. God of War is yet to come. Someone mentioned Killzone 2…are you fucking kidding me?? It was a sub-par first person shooter on the PS2. It was supposed to be a “Halo Killer” I think I still laugh in my sleep at that one. How long ago did they show that “actual game footage” trailer? It was being shown since the PS3 came out.

Sony took a shit on its customers by trying to shove a $600 price tag up Sony fans asses and tell us to play all those games that launched with the system. The ONLY game that worth playing was Resistance fall of man.

Also $50.00 is a great investment for all the goodness that is XBOX live. All the downloadable arcade games make it worth while. When the fuck is the Sony Home network gonna come out Febuary 31’st?

So to sum it up, shame on you bandwagon jumping bastards.

The new Bluray movies look better than the old ones for some reason, I guess because of improved technology. I can really tell a difference on new movies, though.

I am anxious for Transformers to finally come to Bluray in a couple weeks. I definitely will be buying that.

I never really understand the PS3 versus 360 shit. Nothing against you Pootie personally…considering your GOD OF WAR avatar…lol. But really, can we all just be happy that we have the technology for the consoles we have and not have to donate a kidney for a PC to run high end games??

Each system has its strengths/weaknesses…BUT they both satisfy what we all want…hell, buy both if you feel like you’re missing out on something…no big deal.

By the way has anyone played Bionic Commando:Rearmed?? I get an old 2D nostalgic feeling when I play that game. Fun game…and a cheap $10. Capcom is still bringing it…considering how long they’ve been around.

Give TVersity a look…it streams all your music, photos, video files to PS3…works perfect for me…you do have to tweak it to your preferences though.
