It’s better than “very good”. This is a true success for comic fans. There were older people in there who clearly grew up with the comics who were more excited than anyone else when it was over. The Avenger issue got a standing ovation.

Im just worried that they introduced the “Avengers” to soon. Stark working with S.H.I.E.L.D would have been good for the time being. And we all know who is in charge of SHIELD. Go to the Avengers after Iron Man 2, Capt. America, Wonder Women and the Flash have all been established.

If they do do it IM needs to be the focus and just introduce the others or not at all. Nut Im sure they will do a good job with it. I think Comic book movies as a whole has turnd a corner

Err… Himora, Wonder Woman and the Flash are DC characters…

The Avengers are currently (I believe):

Iron Man, Capt. America, Wolverine, Storm, Spider-man (subbing for ant-man), The Hulk, and possibly Thor.

Depends on the comic/version.

The most likely for a X-over movie, IMO, are:
Iron Man, Wolverine, Capt. America, and Spider Man.

I don’t think Thor will gain enough steam. As for The Hulk, both of the new movies don’t portray him in a super-heroish light, or so it seems. Banner is more like a man trying to control his inner-demon, than someone who wants to use his power for heroics ALL the time.

That’s the same way he is portrayed in the comics now. He isn’t really a super hero anymore but someone on the run. He’s killed innocent people now and destroyed cities.

The current Avengers include Spiderman, Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, Iron-Man, Captain America, Wolverine and Ms Marvel.

They’ve updated a lot of things from the older comics. It is the only reason I pay attention to it. Thor is dead…for now. the fact that they used Nick Fury from the newer series hints they are moving in this newer direction (even though they could add in Thor before he dies easily).

Those more into this shit would know more though.

We’ll probably get Luke Cage, but Spider-woman is doubtful. Too corny. Ms. Marvel is a bit iffy. I never like the Marvels’ (Mr. and Mrs.), too Superman-ish but without the inner-conflict. Never got into them. I don’t see them getting their own movie, but the Mrs. could show up in an Avengers flick.

Good god DC is lagging behind. DC needs to fix itself up, pronto. unfortunately, most DC characters are a bit too similar to have their own movies. A JLA movie needs to be made to save DC. Or at least a Super Man movie that doesn’t blow ass.

They should have just built on what Smallville has spent years creating. I still don’t understand why they didn’t use Welling.

Cool, I would love to see the Hulkbuster armor!

My current laptop/tabletPC, a geek’s dream:

Hp Pavillion tx 1000
2gb ram
1.9? GhZ processor
Fingerprint reader
12"? moniter
200gb hard drive.
Touch screen, can make screen “potrtait” and “landscape”
rotating screen (so u can flip it backwards, and close it backwards, making it a book)

Only problem is that its a bit thick, but i dont mind.

[quote]ahzaz wrote:

I like everything else you mentioned…but that last one is a big flaw for me.

I’m still looking into that one though.

I measured it, it goes about 1.15" off the bottom of the desk to the top. Not TOO thick, but still fairly thick.

My friend…Thor is NOT dead anymore. His title has returned, and he is more bad-assed than ever.

The Nick Fury in the movie is the Ultimate Universe Nick Fury. This means Marvel is trying to introduce the Ultimates Universe version to the mainstream, not their “real” universe which is dubbed the 616 universe.

Thor is my favorite character. I hate the fact that the Ultimates version of Thor is a real pansie. I blame Quesada for bastaardizing or allowing the bastaardization of Marvel comics history and destroying some of the continuity. This helps with marketing to newer generations, but hardcore comics folks like me detest it.

I don’t care for the Ultimate line from Marvel, the story’s are 12 issues of talking and then 1 issue of action ho-hum. Plus the stuff they did to Hank Pym is fucked up, I think irt was more shocking in the early 80’s where he slaps Jan that one time, than that whole beat down they did in The Ultimates, Bendis has issues.

As far as an Avenger’s film maybe they’ll do Captain America leading into an Avenger’s movie. Have the film end with Cap going into the water and freezing, then having an already formed Avenger’s team find him ala issue 4.

Gotch’a. I LIKE the Ultimate Universe. Luke Cage? Most of the shit Spiderman says now is funny as all hell (unlike in the movies). IronMan is badass (so glad he was in the movie as well), and Thor still kicks God-like ass whenever possible.

I mean, shit, all they need is a good Hulk turn out, a decent man to play Captain America (who is now one of the most popular), some hope that Tyrese can actually pull off Luke Cage realistically, get rid of Magwire as Spiderman and get someone with TALENT, a decent Thor movie that DOES make him more realistic…and pow…I can leave this planet with my childhood and adulthood nicely capped off in fantasy.

LOL.

Yeah but that issue in the early 200’s where as Yellowjacket he just belts her and her showing up at the mansion in sunglasses etc is more powerful than being chased by a can of raid.
