Thanks, man. The soundtrack alone seems worth getting.

My only gripe is that it should have been rated Mature. The actual animated series was pretty graphic.

Hmm…I don’t know…that trailer showed quite a few torsos cut in half and blood.

My biggest worry is that it seems to use the same graphics engine as the new Prince of Persia…I hope it isn’t the exact combat system. But if so…its still fucking Afro Samurai…I will play it for sure.

I’m in retro heaven right. Just picked up Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff for the DS and let me say, if you enjoyed the games on the NES, you will certainly like this.

Classic gameplay, although there are a few tweaks and the game speed is a little slower than the NES versions.

One funny tidbit, the team that’s “supposed” to represent the NY Giants (no NFL license) are called the LA Supercocks. Seriously. I’m not lying.

The uniform and logo editor are good. You can get close to the actual NFL colors, but you can’t duplicate the logos so you’ll have to pick from generic birds and symbols and whatnot. You can also edit player names and tweak their attributes (can’t max the stats out, which will help level the playing field online).

PS3, PC and 360 owners:

The original DiRT was badass. This one looks a LOT nicer. Amazing.

Also, I am a sucker for games that parody anything and everything, a la Duke Nukem. Looks like we might have a winner coming up and it’s a 3rd person shooter like Resident Evil:

Oh, and if any of you were fans of Resistance: Fall of Man for the PS3, Resistance 2 is just as impressive (on par with Gears of War 2 it looks like):

Well it’s good to know that Sony is on top of it’s bricked consoles. I sent my PS3 off on Monday for service and the replacement unit just arrived, a little over 4 days from the time I sent it out.

I am gonna go pick up Mirror’s Edge during lunch today. Has anyone played this yet? If so, is it worth a buy?

Mirror’s Edge is a shining example of when a game concept idea doesn’t live up to its idea. The movement controls are solid and the graphics top-notch, but everything else just doesn’t work. The level design begins excellent and grows progressively worse. The combat is awkward and tedious, and even as the levels grow less fun, the game throws more and more combat at you, as if hoping to distract you.

To top it off, the title is remarkably short and the plot deeply unsatisfying. Mirror’s Edge is a game brimming with potential that realizes little of it, and one can only hope that D.I.C.E. provides more polish for their all-but-inevitable sequel, but for this game, a rental should suffice.

Score 7.0/10

…And they gave it a 7? I vote 5.

Assassins Creed trumps it over and over again.

I’ll report on MK vs DC tonight or tomorrow.

Assassin’s Creed was VERY well done. I love Ubisoft.

AC was just a very out-of-box approach to everything. Awesome.

I just finished Mirror’s edge yesterday and it was pretty awesome. They should still have the demos for ME on live and on the PS3 so you should play it there first. It’s been described as a hit or miss for most people. The environment is top notch quality with an all white city being tied to a bland dictatorship that controls everything, and the story pretty much goes with the whole quick paced “get in get out” gameplay.

I think its a pretty revolutionary title when you look at all the sequels and “stale” games we constantly get so I hope it does well. Make sure to play the demo yourself before deciding because the experience of this game can be great for some and bad for others.

Edit:

I forgot to mention…your avatar is awesome applesauce

I have seen some good reviews for it, too. I don’t trust reviews that much anyways. They haven’t been overwhelmingly bad, plus I really liked the demo. But if it is a short game I may gamefly it.

MK vs DC Universe.

Buy it.

Agreed. This may be one of the best fighting games made to date. Don’t just rent this one.

That is a bold statement, son…

I’ll check it out to confirm.

Well, damn, what beats face to face fighting like this? I think Tekken is great, but it does get boring eventually. The power moves are pretty damn interesting with this.

It does both the DC characters and the MK’s justice so I think most people will like it.

I can’t play this, for total suckage of fighting games, but what good is a Mortal Kombat game without brutal fatalities?!

Personally, I’m a Street Fighter guy. And I maintain that the world is divided in Ryus and Kens, with a minority of Guiles.

SFIV looks good and I will try to play MK vs DC tonight.

No, sir - the world is divided between Dudleys and non-Dudleys.

Me too, some developer needs to get off their ass and give us Marvel vs Capcom 3.

I’m probably going to pickup Street Fighter 2 HD next week when it comes out on Live.

I’ll give MK vs DC a try though. Really haven’t liked any MK’s since MK 3.

I think MK3 was the one that screwed it up for me - I think that was the one where they had animalities, babalities and all sorts of crap - it was getting silly.

This one however, is pretty damn good.
