That were a couple times in Dead Space that literally made me drop my controller…SPOILER for those that haven’t played it…or gotten very far in the game:
One area is were I least expected it…after upgrading at a bench station.

Oh man, you’re not lying. After that, I never felt safe upgrading, buying, or even being in the main “HUB” section of each level.
I do remember another time, though, and I’m not sure if I overlooked the enemy or not, but I got attacked WHILE I was buying some shit. That really pissed me off.
And a question, what was your least favorite enemy? I hated those bastards plastered to the walls that would spit out the worm packets and could kill you with one hit if you got too close!
That, and have you gotten to the last level yet?

A preview of The Last Remnant:
I’m iffy about this union based combat thing. What does everyone else think?[/quote]
I’m a bit hesitant about this game. I was really looking forward to it for a while, but I was thinking about RPGs and failed combat systems. When they do something ingenuitive and original and it works, it works. If it doesn’t click, they tend to really blow balls.
I don’t like the fact that IGN talked about pre-party planning for a lot of fights. I obviously don’t mind strategizing for bosses, but if I wanted a tactical game, I’d just buy one.
I’ll wait for someone else to buy it and see… ![]()

I think you’re talking about the “Gate Keepers.” I have to agree with them being my least favorite…especially when there around a corner…and two of them in one area…I had a problem with the “Twitchers” before figuring out their speed.
I’ve beaten the game already…I started a new game on Impossible Mode…but haven’t had much time to play it right now.
I also still have a game save after beating the game…you can replay on the same difficulty level with all your upgraded weapons and suits. You can’t do this with a different difficulty level though.
How long did it take you to finish the game ?

The more I read about it the more iffy I get about the game.
I’m psyched for FFXIII though, December 1, 2009!

The original Diablo was pretty scary as well. I remember being on level 7 or 8, not being able to see much ahead of my character, and hearing the faint laughter of children.
Why are kids always creepy? I never figured that out.
The weird baby/mechanical fly (or whatever) hybrids in doom3 were probably the only thing that scared me in that game…
The random noises in doom3 were pretty creepy too, crying babies = chills. But ya cherubs were fucked up.

Yeah, Diablo 1 was pretty creepy (back then, at least). The expansion (what was the name again?) was also not too bad in that aspect (the hive part).
Hellfire

Right, thanks.

15 hours…I didn’t explore a lot until towards the last half of the game. And there are lots of trophies to earn as well.

x2
Especially since the initial reviews I’ve read for The Last Remnant haven’t been great. They said the combat system just wasn’t as good as it was hyped up to be. When I read that I thought, well at least there’s still FFXIII.

Wow, really? Took me right around 9 hours or so, I think. I guess I didn’t try to explore too much, though… I usually just wanted to get through each level as fast as I could, haha.
— SPOILER —
I don’t know about you, but I thought the last boss was a huge bitch and a big disappointment. Granted, I only played through on Normal and it’ll probably be more difficult the next go around, but I thought the asteroid segment was actually the most difficult part of the game.

Well,I started playing with the same intentions…lol. Then I focused on trying to upgrade and grab as many items as possible.

I agree with you totally. I did love the “red planet” feel though. The environments in this game are some of the best I’ve ever seen so far.
How many levels are there in Dead Space?
I’m about 2.5 hours in and just beat the brute on Level 4.

12, and barring 2 levels towards the end, they actually do a great job of making each level feel distinct and that it’s actually its own separate section of the planet-cracker.
And FUCK the Brutes. Those guys made going through the game with one gun a pain in the ass… limited ammo!

I commented on it a bit on the “Xbox 360 Fans” thread, but I don’t think it’s too bad, despite the lack of character customization options.
The New Xbox Live Experience is pretty sweet. Just killed the morning doing paperwork at home and streaming movies from NetFlix.
The Avatar system has potential. There is talk about opening up the character customization to include game characters. So in 3-6 months you may see a few thousand Master Chiefs walking around Live.

That link is glitchy for some reason. The vid won’t work.

Yeah…forgot about the glitches.I usually just use download link and it will play with no problems…try that and see if it will play.
As far as the game…they’re isn’t a release date yet. I hope its not too far in the future,BUT I hope they take the time to produce a quality game…and soundtrack.
lets see if this works
