…Has anyone been playing Fallout 3? I’m almost 20 hours and I can’t stop playing it. Which sucks too because I also have Gears of War 2 and Dead Space on the shelf but this game is too damn addicting…

The hubby says it’s like crack…and he doesn’t want to move onto a new game because he knows it will just be a new drug.

I just beat it and took it back to blockbuster today.(5 days late) Great, great game! My only gripes were…

 1. The character models were really bad
 2. only 20 lvls? I liked Morrowind and Oblivians lvling system much better
 3. Once you beat the main story thats it, there is no going back and exploring.

But every thing else in the game was GREAT! The enviornments, weapons(never did find a Big Boy =_(, the voice acting was solid with some big names like Master Cheif him self Ron Perlman and Jedi Master Liam Neeson.

An old room mate of mine HATED Oblivian b/c me and 3 other room mates played it at the same time, so it was on 24/7 for months straight. But said Fallout 3 was like watching a movie.

Hope they come out with an exspantion for it!

And I now know every word to every song that is in that damn game!!

(edit) The V.A.T.S is fucking Awesome!!
Haven’t you played fallout 1 or 2? The experience/rule system in Fallout 3 is obviously different from Oblivion… All the two games share are the engine and developers. The other fallout titles were done by a different company…

I have yet to play fo3, hope it does hold up the the first/second.
Wasted a nice chunk of my lifetime playing those

Oblivion’s stock leveling-system is ok, but I didn’t like the fact that the better you got the better all enemies got. It never felt like you actually achieved anything… The enemies always match you on standard or harder difficulty levels.
And you could rarely find an exceptional piece of equipment… Mostly it was stuff that you can buy at your current level, so treasure hunting was kinda boring there…

Liked leveling up enough and then taking on that destroyed city (what was the name again? Kvatch?) with the City Guard and Imperial Army guys…
Then you could at least fight the Dremora people… If you attack too early, all you’re fighting are those dinosaur things… Which is kinda retarded.

Looks like they announced the director for the Captain American movie.

Joe Johnston has signed on to direct Marvel Studios’ “The First Avenger: Captain America” based on characters developed by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon. The film will be produced by Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige. Executive Producers on the project are Louis D’Esposito, Stan Lee and Marvel Studios’ Chairman David Maisel. Paramount Pictures will distribute “The First Avenger: Captain America” worldwide. The film will come to theaters domestically on May 6, 2011.

Johnston is currently directing “The Wolf Man,” which comes to theaters early next year. He is developing “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud”. Johnston previously directed “October Sky,” “Jumanji,” “Jurassic Park III,” “The Rocketeer” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.” Johnston won an Academy Award® in 1982 for Best Visual Effects for “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

Damn…I have to wait two whole years. A lot of shit can happen in two whole years.

I’m not criticizing anyone’s interests or view of games by any means, but…

How can anyone actually enjoy Gears of War 2? It’s literally the exact same game as the first one with different levels. I guess I have a problem with games that fail to introduce any sort of difference between their games (The Halo series, for one.)

It reminds me of the old EA Sports paradigm: They just keep putting out the same shit and people keep spending money on it.

I don’t know. I’m not a Gears hater. But in the two hours I played it, (including the driving level!) I couldn’t tell whether I was playing the first or second game.

Guess it’s just me.
For me it goes under the “If it ain’t broke…” I had little to no complaints about the first Gears of War, the action was fast pace, the enemies were large and badass, and the heroes didn’t bitch and moan like RPG characters. They just picked up their guns and got to killin’. Gears2 gave you new weapons new enemies and WAAAAAAY more blood. Why would anyone dislike logical additions to what was already a great game?

Remember the first Prince of Persia on the PS2? That was a classic IMO, the puzzles were unique and the combat mechanics (though sparce) was smooth. Players and Critics alike loved it. Then the developers said “hey this is a great game we got here. How can we Jazz it up? Lets put in a bunch of T&A give the Prince a ‘Badass’ Goth look and totally fuck with the story.” We got the piece of shit that was Warrior Within. So I am glad they didn’t Fuck with Gears that much and just gave me more story more weapons and a shitload of Locust to kill. The also improved the multiplayer.

I understand what your saying about games like Madden although. EA screwed us by eliminating there competition. They have a monopoly on the NFL license, and they have no reason to “evolve” without stiff competition from 2K sports. NBA 2K has become the best basketball game out there dethroning NBA Live. EA felt the boot on their neck and did something to save there asses.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and The Two Thrones were two of the greatest games I’ve ever played.

Warrior Within was horrendous, but the first two were so good that the trilogy itself will still leave a legacy.

I’m nervous about the new PoP game, though. Not sure how I feel about the ‘illustrated’ look. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

I still can’t understand how the fuck Jake Gyllanhal is gonna play the Prince…

They could have at least got a Persian-looking guy to do it…

Fuckin’ Hollywood.

He’s the reason I cannot watch any of the Spiderman movies, I haven’t seen 2 or 3 - nor do I have any intention to do so.

I was talking with a guy about this last night. Parker starts out as a nerdy cry babby but he grows up. I cant look at McGwier and see a grown up…ever

Jake Gyllanhal: making the Marines look like pussies since 2005. (Man, it pains me to say that)

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is one of the few original Xbox games that I’ve kept for the 360.

I’m looking forward to the new artistic style. It’s an evolution of the cell shading stlye. Now applied to a character design with more vertices than any other PoP character to date.

Agreed. The first movie worked because he looked pathetic and that matched Peter Parker when he first got the suit. However, he STILL Looks just as pathetic in every movie afterwards and they have done a very weak job of recreating Spiderman’s smart ass attitude. I don’t remember laughing at even one statement in any of those movies when the comic books have one liners for days.

I had a family friend who was in cosmetics for a long time. She said she knew people in Hollywood that said it is in unspoken secret that Toby is gay.

Guess he forgot to close the door to the closet. Not that it really matters to me, but just sayin.

Anyway, Hollywood has always had a shortage of badass actors. Honestly, I would rather NOT know the main actor in a film as I think their fame detracts from the purity of the film. I’d rather now know ANY of the actors in a movie.

This is why Casino Royale was so badass; not only was Daniel Craig great, but he was relatively unknown.

The sad thing is Tobey Maguire originally said he didn’t want to do Spiderman 2. I guess he claimed the training he did for Spiderman was difficult and hurt his back (cough PUSSY cough).

There were a lot of names being thrown around for recastng the role. The main name I heard being thrown around was Jake Gyllenhaal, who was dating Kirsten Dunst at the time.

Then I think they threw like $10-15 million at Maguire and suddenly he didn’t have back pain anymore.

There’s gonna be a Robotech movie? Shit, I didn’t even know that.
I used to read the comics/(mangas? not really, that would be macross?) in spanish as a kid. Meaning that I didn’t know what the fuck was going on, but the pictures were cool ;D

Man, they should just make a new OVA…

w00t! my new 360 just got delivered. Red Ring of Death be damned!!!

too bad i’m out of town on business and won’t be able to play it till saturday.

Spidey 3 was a joke when they tried to make Parker act arrogant; Maguire just couldn’t pull it off and the material they gave him to work with wasn’t that great, either. That was such a mailed-in movie it was a joke.

They should really give that movie an overhaul with cast and storyline…I’m not sure how successful it was compared to the new Hulk, Ironman and Batman but it couldn’t touch any of those IMO.
