Skyrim is one of my favorite games of all time. I just finished the Dragonborn DLC (Well the story line anyway).
my friend just told to activate the Dawn Guard DLC when i’m around level 12 and to not use fast travel, otherwise they slaughter all the npcs and ravage towns.
If your on pc skyrim nexus has a mod for that.
gonna check it out, the only MOD i’ve instaled so far was a graphic one.

Can one of you point me to a guide on how to install MODs? Specifically for Skyrim, but Terraria also if you can. My son is driving me nuts asking me to figure it out, but so far no luck on my part. Thanks.

MOst skyrim mods you just copy the .esp file into C:program files/Steam/Steampps/Common/Skyrim/Data, then activate them under the data files menu in the launcher.

FYI if you pre-order Destiny from Gamestop you’ll get a code for the beta testing early next year.

AC III is horrible…I’m not excited for AC IV at this point.

I liked the UI, the timeline, and the father-son premise, but the game really felt flat.

I would say its far from horrible, its really a very good game if you’re judging it by itself, but in the context of the series and what came before it, its the weakest entry since the first one in my opinion.

Yeah, come to think of it, Black Flag actually does have a lot of potential if they can meld the respective successes of III and Brotherhood/Revelations. Maybe I should order AC II…

I am interested in seeing the rest of this list, it’s pretty obvious you have some serious passion for video games man and some deep insight… You would be an awesome reviewer to work at say game spot or something!

I agree with this man 100%. The thing that ruined ACIII for me was the pacing, you spent like 6 hours in what felt like an extended tutorial, not to mention I wasn’t all that fond of Connor as a protagonist.

In retrospect, I would’ve really liked it if they would’ve explored the idea of being an assassin for the Templars. And man…Haytham was the perfect character for that. They could’ve started you off as an Assassin, and then in the later part of a game, or maybe in another game, have you join up with the Templars.

ACII is by far the best. It’s the reason there are yearly installments. Had ACII been on par with ACI there would not be yearly installments, it was that much of an improvement.

Started re-playing Darksiders I this weekend, I forgot how awesome that game is! It’s like a gritty version of Zelda.

I also spent about 5 hours in Arkham City as a nice warm-up for the 25th. Origins looks really good.

OK just ordered AC II for $1 lol. My total AC investment is still under $50 so I can’t complain too much. I will just wait for the reviews to come out before getting IV.

III is painful for me - there’s so much squandered potential at every point. IV definitely has huge potential, but after reading about advanced grass rendering technology I’m wary

Obviously i cant speak on IV yet, but you will NOT be disappointed with II.

After ACI i thought, how could ACII really be this great game everyone’s saying it is? And within about 15 minutes of gameplay i knew it was going to live up to the hype.

I agree with both points as to why acIII was a disappointment. Also, climbing around in the wilderness turned out to be much more boring than it was initially made out to be, and at times pretty damn tedious.

The thing that really disappointed about it for me was that the intro made probably the best first-impression of any AC game to date, only for it to fall flat afterwards.

Thanks, i suppose that should be taken as a compliment. Im very into games that create a memorable and resonant experience/atmosphere, so im sure the absence of games such as CoD would be an instant turn off for some lol.

Thats a list that would take more thinking than i have time for at the moment though, maybe ill try to come up with something a little later.

I don’t think most ‘critic’ type people would even bat an eye at the lack of ‘blockbuster’ style games not being on a top list of generational games. It’s pretty much the same as blockbuster movies, with very rare exception, they aren’t made in any attempt to draw critical acclaim, just to mindlessly entertain and put buts in seats(or controllers in hands).

I suppose, that doesnt stop constantly regurgitated series’ like CoD from continually garnering 9+ point review scores though.

That makes me wonder: is the movie industry as pervaded with ‘incentivized’ reviews as video games are?

Im sure there is that in movies as well, but to me it doesnt seem to be as apparent as with videogames.

Maybe a bigger movie buff/film aficionado can shed some light.
