They just try to lure you in so that it will hurt more.

Nothing could hurt worse than Superman Returns. That movie was like bending my childhood over and forgetting lube.

They did not forget it.
The more it hurts you, the more they enjoy it.
Yeah, NAMCALT, I know.
But I dont trust them…
-_-
It is directed by the same guy that did Dark Night, so it has to be good.

This was a tragedy. They made my favorite childhood superhero look like Ru Paul.

Christopher Nolan is just throwing money at it and making sure everything is in place and on hand ready for Snyder (director) to go to work on the meat and bones of filming it.
Nolan’s idea behind it is nothing to sneeze at, but it’s Zack Snyder that has the final say, and so far he’s never really said anything as loudly as Nolan has with his films. I don’t expect this to be bad, but there’s still a reasonable chance it will not be The Dark Knight looking back through Snyder’s other good-but-not-outstanding works.
Not to discourage it, for all I know they could finally dial it in again and make a worthy Superman film, I’d enjoy the hell out of it if they did, I want to see them manipulate and break Clark Kent’s emotions, being his only real, but most damaging, weak point. (Besides Kryptonite, of course.)
I personally don’t want The Dark Knight here. Superman is a drastically different character who whole persona lies in his love of what it is to be human and the simple fact that he will never be that.
The aspect of him being an outsider has yet to be fully fleshed out even though I always give Smallville some credit here. It is that separation from mankind that makes him the perfect alternate image for Batman.
Superman literally gains his power from the sun. Batman lives in the dark. I want to see someone who gets that without leading him down the darker allies of batman.

Your vision is far more erudite than mine when it comes to Superhero culture, I was always more of a Batman fan and never strayed too far into the Superman comics. Semi unrelated but have you played Injustice: Gods Among Us? The plotline follows Superman being tricked by The Joker into killing Lois and his unborn son in an alternate timeline, then becoming a vicious and relentless dictator of Metropolis because he can’t live with letting the villains get away with it anymore, I liked the idea behind that. The game isn’t so bad itself, in case of interest.

Superman has the poor situation of being one the first “golden age” heroes where his image was squeeky clean. Hell, he still “never told a lie” when the first Superman movie came out in the 70’s…when he was lying to Lois.
Bottom line, yeah, his traditional way of being portrayed will simply not work any longer as the “too good to be true” boyscout. That is one reason Smallville spent so much time with his “darker self” and even had him wearing all black when he first showed in Metropolis.
You are right…if they plan to do that golden boy can do no wrong thing it will fail…but it doesn’t seem like they are at all. Him getting arrested is something that would never have happened in the 50’s.
The reality is, Superman has a dark side…and the best movie will combine that dark side with his desire to simply be a good guy in the end.
I like your way of thinking on Superman PX.

The guy who Vader choked the shit out of, died today.
When he said, “I find your lack of faith disturbing.”
RIP
How about a look at The Amazing Spiderman 2, featuring Jamie Foxx as Electro
At CinemaCon on Wednesday, the Walt Disney Studios chairman said the company plans to release three ?Star Wars? films by the end of the decade ? one in 2015, 2017 and 2019.

So who here has joined the bitcoin mining revolution?
As long as you don’t mind very expensive electricity bills…
I ordered a new 7970 (it comes with Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite and Far Cry Blood Dragon, three games I wanted to buy anyway) and thought I’d try some mining when it gets here. My electricity is included in my rent, and I’m already folding proteins on my computer, so the only difference will hopefully be some fragments of a bitcoin. [/quote]
Hahahaha!! Fucking hell, I got the 7970 too! No Far Cry included when I got it sadly but I had the other two games – games which are in my MUST PLAY list – and, I won’t play them. I’ve totally turned the new PC into a mining machine. Runs 24 hrs a day and I ain’t worried much about the electricity bill.
I’m waiting for the next Avalon Asic batch release. It’d be awesome to get one proper badass mining machine.

It’s for you too, it’s a retroactive bundle.
And it’s Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, the game everyone thought was an April Fools joke until some russians hacked Uplay and leaked it.
Super charming website

I’m just junmping in here without checking the previous pages…but you guys have already discussed the latest Star Trek Into Darkness trailer…right?
I mean don’t make me bust some heads. You need to see what will most likely be the best movie of the summer!
