There are hundreds in this game, but seriously, you probably won’t be able to tell the difference visually except some cases (environmental killings… Other stuff is just… Well. You’re too far away/too busy/it looks too samish).

I still like FPS cause most of the time you can jump on and play for awhile. I just dont get the feel for points for kills. I am more of the story, atmosphere and length on FPS.

Honestly it reminds me of a skate boarding game, where you get style points. [/quote]

Yeah, and you get to buy stuff with those points too…

If you’re into lengthy FPS games… Holy shit, the last decade must have sucked for you haha.

I swear everytime I buy anything other than an RPG (often now even those) I get through it in 4-8 hours.

Especially annoying if there’s no replayability (often the case imo).

And playing on super-duper-hard just makes things more frustrating, not better…

Yes that has been my big bitch is a lot of the FPS are so damn short. I play the RPG also and love the sandbox games. I have played the first two killzones and enjoyed them. Look forward to this one.

As far as bulletstorm goes I am unsure as well. That’s basically why I have gamefly so I don’t waste money on games that turn out to be crap. I think my average play time on rentals is probably about 20 mins, I send games back the day after I get them pretty regularly. I think this game will be decent though, it’s suppose to be kind of a stab at today’s FPSers and I like to see innovative weapons from time to time. It kind of reminds me of unreal tournament from a while back except with the added style points. Either way it should be a nice break from COD type games that are the staple of my gaming time.

I look for online now a days even more so then the campaign just because a lot of my friends are in different sates so that’s how I keep in touch. If the campaign is your main concern I wouldn’t take a chance on bulletstorm either. I’m more curious then pumped for this one.

Does anyone own a Nintendo DS/i/lite etc?

Would you recommended owning one?

I’m thinking about buying one, mainly for the good number of rpg’s that have been released + the adventure/puzzles that are available. (Castlevania, Valkyrie, FF, Dragon Quest).

They’re also pretty cheap atm.

I have a DSi, I got it because I was starting to travel back and forth to Europe from the US about 4 times a year for my PhD and can’t read that long on a plane. Totally worth it.
I’ve played all the Castelvania games and they are, IMO, some of the best in the series. The RPGs are wonderful, the sound is much better than I would have guessed. I’ve done FFIV and Tactics both were great and DQ is a blast, oh and I just finished Chrono Trigger on the last trip if you like the older games (which are ususally decently updated for this system).

There’s other games that are staples like Mario Kart that you can get really good at in 10 minutes but take a long time to master. It also has one of my all time favorite games: Geometry Wars.
Some do a really great job of incorporating the stylus but others, not so much. Overall it’s a great system that is relatively inexpensive and games are cheap, too. Especially if you get used ones. Battery life is good and you can carry it with you without it being too cumbersome.

I don’t have any consoles because I have a terribly small TV and I don’t think it would be worth it (besides I’ve still got a modded Xbox with about 25 games that I haven’t even touched yet on it…).
Hope this helps.

Thanks heaps for writing this, it was very helpful.
I went down to the store to check some out, didn’t realize how small they were (+ they didn’t have any of the larger models instock) I’ve downloaded an emulator to check out some of the games, they look pretty good(chrono trigger etc all looked great). I might wait for the 3ds to come out, there could possibly be more price reductions because of its release (see what happens I suppose)

For the FPS lovers:

Crysis 2 is out soon, that’s sure to have a decent campaign length (depending on how you play the game of course). Originally a PC release, #2 is going to be released across all platforms. It will be interesting to see the quality of graphics on the 360 and PS3 as the first Crysis was certainly ahead of its time and punished any PC that didn’t contain the required hardware.
Also Far Cry 2 was a decent FPS with a lengthy campaign. A pretty game too.

I’m a FPS lover and bulletstorm did not interest me at all. It seemed to arcade like. Can’t wait to get Crysis 2. Played Cyrsis 1 for PC on high graphics with no problems. Even playing it today the graphics beat most games in present time. I just hate reading youtube comments saying “OMFG hakz they copyed COD omg”. They were not saying anything like this when it was on PC many years ago…

I am looking forward to Battlefeild 3! I know I don’t have the money or time to get Killzone 3 but I totally am going to steal money and make time. Anyone planning to pick up Killzone 3 to play online add me, Fuzzyapple is my PSN tag.

I definitely agree with you about Cyris’s graphics still beating most games in present time, especially when there’s alot of mods to enhance the graphics even further.
Lol youtube comments (the disgrace of mankind) no one was saying “OMFG hakz they copyed COD omg” when it was released, it was more “Holy shite, I hope my machine can handle this” or something similar. (mine at the time didn’t :))

most likely they’ll strip down the graphics for the console versions… as they usually do for all cross platform releases…

True. However, I do believe watching a interview that the “main” guy was saying there will be very little difference between PC to platform (if I recall correctly). Watching the beta trail online it looks pretty impressive but not as impressive as the computer leak a couple weeks ago.

Damn never heard of this until today.

Picked up Killzone 3 and a proper analog move contoller today. Sold Mass Effect 2, FEAR 2, and a playstation move game hah.

A guy said a bunch of people actually bought the gun to go with Killzone 3. I remain skeptical about it.

I’ve got my copy sitting in the car, but I have class until 6:15 Fuckkkkkkk!

Hah mine is in my car as well. I’m at the library studying right now. I’ll reward myself with Killzone 3 after I spend ~4-6 hours in the library.

My KZ3 copy will be sitting in the mailbox waiting for me when i get home from work/gym tonight. Hopefully will have enough time to sit down and play for a while.

Mine is waiting at Gamestop I hope to be out of here in an hour to go pick it up.

I plan to play mine with the PS3 move. It is different gaming that I didn’t mind during my review of it. Since I have the proper analog controller now should be smoother.

I’d say he’s just saying that to calm down the console fanboys. The PS3 version should look pretty schmick, but I have my doubts about the 360 version (not that I have anything against the 360, I own one) I just don’t think it’ll be up there with the PS3, especially in multiplayer.

On a side note: Fox News says that playing Bulletstorm may make you want to rape people???
http://www.1up.com/news/fox-news-calls-bulletstorm-worst-videogame-world

Anyone playing Marvel vs Capcom 3 for the ps3? I need more people to play against rather than random people online that either beat the living fuck out of me or ragequit halfway through the matches because they’re losing.

Does anyone else play games with the in game music off? I can’t stand all that sound in my ear at once. I tend to miss the story and what the tasks are.

just finished watching all star superman, these DC animated movies just keep getting better and better, here’s the link check it out

I think I had more melee kills than gun kills that game.
