I watched it the other night. Honestly, for a basic network show I find it acceptable. The reason they picked this one to create for tv maybe because of the similarities with Batman. Seeing as how the last couple have been well received.

A cable network needs to pick up something like this. Bigger budget, better actors, that’s what a superhero series needs. Although, having Bullet Tooth is gnarly. I like Vinnie Jones.

On that note, I read somewhere the other day that Wonder Woman has been looked over by every network, it sounds like.
Last I heard, they don’t know who to hell to cast in that part. Beyonce was even up for the role. If they go too young, they will screw it up. If they go for someone who comes across as “flaky” instead of a strong female role model, they will screw it up. I am not sure tv producers would make the right choice.

They should pick someone who looks like she works out. She doesn’t have to be a straight up fitness model, but Wonder Woman isn’t weak and picking someone with “super model” features minus the muscle will only fuck this up.

That animated DC movie of her was pretty good…way better than I thought it would be. If they run with that and flesh it out, they just might make it work.
I think Jessica Biel might have some WW potential. I also think the costume needs to be updated/changed for tv. Nothing wrong with hot pants and a corset, but I don’t know if they could make it look serious enough on tv.

Haven’t seen the animated movie, but have heard good thing. I’ve watched the rest, and DC is doing a good job with them.

I’ll go even further on the WW movie. IT was the 3rd best of the DC series of movies. They showed how she should be played.
I can think of women that would fit her physically but find it hard to picture an actress that can pull off her strength without coming off as manly.

It would need to be a cross of sara conner in T2 and Weaver in Aliens with a body like CoCo “Ice T’s wife” (OK that last part is just for my private viewing to be honest its hard to think of someone in hollywood that can fit the tall fit model of Wonder Woman.
The banter between her and Trevor was fucking perfect and the first time I applauded a writer making a woman appear “strong” without making the guy look like a fucking jackass.

If they found a guy to play off that character like that, this show would be a hit.

The scene with her the pilot and the little girl in the park was perfect down to the last detail of how the little girl reacted to her friends after WW’s advice. I was thinking they don’t write like this for live action movies.

^ My feeling is total hopelessness seeing a trailer like that. When you set up the invading force to the power they were portrayed. How do you end the movie in a winning note? I hate bullshit endings. So they better have a good script of the ending. Independece day they figured a way to beat them. Okay. War of the worlds, viral/bacterial death Okay. Just wondering where they go without copying another movie.

The mods deleted my post for the curse I assume. My feelings to the “T” except war of the worlds had a crap ending. If that really went down “CRAP & Pants” are two words that I would be saying much of.

The ending to the War of the Worlds made sense though, been in the medical field for 20 years. And if you look at our history that happened to a lot of explorers they brought in desease, so the reverse is believable. My think is a bullshit ending. Or go totally dark, like cloverfield even though that movie made me throw up. I liked the ending.

What’s REALLY fucked up is that people have their Zombie breakout plan, yet the MOST likely circumstance that would arise that mimics sci-fi movies is the alien invasion scenario. What the fuck can we do against beings advanced enough to travel light years through space and want what we have?

In all honesty Avatar would have been one sided as fuck. The Na’vi would have been eradicated almost instantly.

There are so many methods the aliens can employ, but the most simple would be to destroy our satellites and make us fight blind.

It would probably be like Independence day without the happy ending.

Unless they have some form of force field like in Independence Day, I think we’re packing more nukes.

Exactly what goes through my mind. So I understand the mood setting by the trailer one of desperation and fear. BUT any good writer will tell you dont paint yourself into a corner, you have to have a reliable/believable ending. Watching this did not leave me with a hope of a good ending. Now if everyone dies then fine I can live with that, but I hope they dont pull something sappy and stupid.

Ok lets look at the facts. We have developed and cultivated nuclear weapons in the modern age, and we have developed faster forms of travel BUT have not become advanced enough to travel vast distances in a time efficient manner. A civilization that has mastered light speed or near light speed travel who are indeed hostile, will have shit that will totally fuck us up.

Take an example from real world events. If the United states didn’t care about the civilians in Afghanistan and just wanted to conquer it wholesale, how much of a fight do you think they will give us? Unless they are given help from other developed nations we would totally decimate them in a matter of weeks.

The same thing would happen to us.

Damn Pootie an Hawkins agree we would be screwed.

Lol dude, until we are wielding light sabers or develop some wicked interplanetary defense tech we are assed out. I would actually rather the Zombie apocalypse.

Chances are that aliens gave us the nuclear technology anyway…

Ma, fuck you guys and your negativity. If the movies have taught me anything, all you need to win is persistence and a Can-Do American attitude.

You guys might hide in your houses and get probed, I’m gonna sneak into the alien base, punch him in his face, and say “Welcome to Earth”.

And they better stay out of NC.

I got DC Online. It is a HUGE time waster. The graphics are done well…but they crashed the system 3 times last night because of the sheer load of people on line. You were just running into wall to wall “newly created heroes”.

Pros
-You do have control over how you look to a large degree
-good graphics done by world class animators
-enough shit to do to keep you interested for hours
-the ability to play with friends in team ups along with a story line to follow

Cons
-the server crashed 3 times…but after each time, they got it back up quickly
-it knocks me off line if I am stationary for too long.
-not enough variability in how you can look.

My character looks like me…bald, black and muscular…but all of the faces are pretty generic aside from making minor changes to hair, skin color and masks. I’m a creative guy. I would have liked it better if you had even more control…but they did a good enough job for most people.

last con - the online service fee to play that game is like 14 bucks a month.

I am assuming this is what Magic the Gathering was like…only nerdier.

You lost me on 14 bucks a month. I will wait for dead space 2 and two worlds.

Damn, and people complain about a Xbox Live subscription…
