I don’t know about the rest of you but I absolutely LOVED dragon age origins. I was hoping to see this plot thread resolved in Dragon Age 2, but this is just as good, if not better (more plausible?)
if you’ve heard anything about DA2 you know Morrigan’s child has a role in the sequel, which is probably the idea behind this DLC: they want to give a teaser to the dedicated fans with a bow on top.
now that i know there’s a Bioware fan in the house, what’s your opinion on Dragon Age 2’s new gameplay direction?
You can regain my love by going to your local comic shop and demanding The Thanos Imperative. I picked up the second issue, a reprint (something I almost never bother with), and I got to see Galactus and every other Galactus-level player in Marvel fighting Cthulhu’s children.
Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are so good at writing, I find it difficult to pee.

That’s good to know. I haven’t been completely on top of the news.
Anyways, personally, I enjoy more action-y type games, so I think I’ll enjoy it more. That’s not to say I didn’t like DA:0’s gameplay, it’s just that I enjoy more hack and slashy gameplay I guess? The shootingness of Mass Effect felt kind of flat compared to Mass Effect 2, so I think I’ll be on board with whatever direction bioware choses to go.
What are your thoughts? I might be mistaken, but I recall you (or someone else) being more of a role playing purist and liking the pause and being all tactical nature of things.

Man, DnA have been consistently awesome. I really enjoyed Nova and GotG and all the other cosmic marvel stuff.

Fuck you both, the Dragon Age combat system is bad ass! If you’re tactical, you’ll finish battles in seconds. If you’re an idiot, you’ll get owned by anyone.

Fighting dragons is TOUGH.
You heard wrong about me being a purist, i thought Dragon Age’s combat was more than dated. The revamp is going to be akin to the jump from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2, updating the combat, streamlining features, and giving the graphics more Umph.
That’s fine by me, although i think they might have smoothed Mass Effect 2 a little too much. some of the features could have been upgraded instead of cut entirely. hopefully they listen to the community and keep a lot of the features from DO:A off the cutting room floor.

Yeah, I agree completely. The whole weapons and items stuff felt like it lost a lot of depth. Either way, I’m really looking forwward to it.
Cool is: Not remembering the name of a movie, typing
movie about tentacles, boat, ocean, storm, monster, guns
into Google and immediately getting tons of info about that one movie.

Deep Rising…if you never saw it, kick yourself.
Isn’t this the movie where there is a massive monster on the island at the end as well? I think this movie was based on some real science about an animal in the south china seas that can grow infinitely. I learned about this in a Bio 101 class. Great movie and thanks for reminding me about the title. I’m about to see if I can get this online tonight.
This game is looking truly amazing from the trailer. I hope we can tap into our evil powers and not just listen to dragons this time around. The first game was very good. I’ve never played a PC RPG where you could run around and actually change to any character and fight. Beat the game already but never checked out the DLC stuff.

They have a DLC involving morrigan coming out in september. I’m so getting it.
I watched the last season of Lost finally…what did the bomb actually do from season 5? If they are all dead in those “flash side-ways”, then the bomb didn’t do shit.

I guess it was an attempt to say that if you mess with time travel you create a parallel world. I guess maybe in the new bluray release they will explain a little bit better what was going on.

SPOILERS:
They were all dead in the flash sideways, but they died at different times. So basically, they all went about their lives on the island, and then when they died they would meet up in the flash sideways. Meaning that Hurley and Ben had been on the island a long time since they took over for Jacob, and the other people I guess waited until those two died, then began their sideways stuff. I forget about the specifics of the bomb though.

And here is a heads up for anyone looking for an impressive looking, upcoming Tablet.
At 7", I think it’s a much better size compared to the iPad if you want something portable. Plus it has LOTS of features, the only thing I’m wondering is hard drive size and price.
Just one more week!
That looks very cool. All they have to do is make it sturdy, the OS is taken care of.

Yeah, I understood that, but the whole issue with the bomb made it seem like the bomb itself created the alternate world…when that wasn’t the case at all. Dr. Shepherd’s father told him that world was one they all created so they could find each other when they died…because their time together was the most important time in all of their lives.
That means the bomb didn’t do anything but bring them back to this time period.
All in all, I don’t see why people hated this season so much. From start to finish, this whole series, TO ME, outdid X-Files as far as overall creativity…plus the fact they actually did try to answer most questions about that island, something X-Files never did.

Sorry that didn’t help much, it’s been a while since I watched the series.
I agree the season was pretty good, and the finale was a good way to end the story even if it did not answer all the questions it gave the characters closure.
