My new best friends in gaming.

I got the FPS Freeks. Basically it makes the analog sticks twice as tall, which gives you a much larger arc radius. The larger movement radius allows me to make finer more precise movements in game. It cuts out overaiming/oversteer in games. It took, maybe 5 minutes to get used to when I played Halo 3, GRAW 2 and COD4. I then popped in Tomb Raider Underworld (first time to play it) and I felt right at home. There is also a SpeedFreek set up for those of you who are racing fans.

The Freeks just snap onto the top of the analog sticks and hold on very snugly. There is no slop or wobble. In fact I’m very glad I don’t have to remove them because they are on tight. So give them a look and at $10 they are a small price for a big increase in control and precision.

Thanks for the review. I read about those in the Game Informer a while back and wondered if anyone had tried them out. Sounds like they are worth getting then.

GODDAMN!

Got a question for ya geeks.
The other day I was messing with my settings on my 360. I set it to 1080p and the screen went black and all it says now is “mode not compatible”. I can’t bring my xbox settings back up or anything. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get my settings back?

Is your TV 1080p compatible? Or are you going thru a Center Component?
If yes, then plug in directly to the TV with an HDMI cable. It might work with component video too.

Or

Disconnect and unplug the XBOX 360 for 15 seconds. Plug the XBOX 360 back in. Switch the factory cable to ‘TV’ and connect with the A/V cables this should defualt you back to 480i. From there reset you video settings.

Has anyone been watching Fringe? What did you all think of the finale?

For what it’s worth, Wolverine X-men Origins The Video game seems to be getting decent reviews on Amazon. I’ll pick it up but probably won’t be able to play it until this weekend.

I’ve heard good reviews as well. It seems it’s worth a play-through once just to experience it.

I’ve just started a second play-through of MGS4.

Yeah, the reviews I read said that the game was better than the movie. Apparently it’s not very hard though and there aren’t a lot of levels, so I’m either going to rent it or wait a bit until cheaper, used copies start to surface.

One poster related it to God of War…which is a really big fucking statement.

That’s an astronomical statement…I might rent this weekend. I actually still need to get caught up on a few other games since the semester for me is done…Thank God. I’m still halfway trying to finish up Killzone 2…

This got me thinking, I have not seen it in this thread, and I am not sure how many of you are computer gamers, but if you enjoy FPS, or MMO’s you owe it to yourself to buy a Nostromo N52 speed pad… I bought one 2 years ago and love it still… Without a doubt the best purchase I have ever made… It takes about 2 to 3 hours to get used to… But, once you do you can do all your movement with your left thumb, which allows you to use your other four fingers to do a myrid of other things… The software it comes with lets you set up each button to do anything for a single button macro (1, 2, 3, and so on) to complex multiline macros and the software is very intuitive… I personally have the thumb pad set to forward, back, and strafe left / right… I cant imaging gameing without this things anymore, and wish I had had it back in my CS days…

I have tried the logitech and saitech and hated them both, saitech was a piece of crap and logitech software sucked and was overly complicated.

The new version is pretty slick looking. I wish they’d release controllers like this for the consoles.

I still need to get a pair of those FPS Freeks.

The movie Taken is probably one of the best “action movies” I’ve seen in a very long time. It reminds me of the Bourne movies only more interesting.

Ha! Couldn’t agree more.
