It’s definitely the best co-op game I’ve ever played. It’s much shorter than RE4 however, but lots of replay value. Story is typical resident evil. Cheesy fucking dialogue but with good voice actors, and quite predictable. The single player falls way short of RE4 but this game was designed from the ground up to be played with a friend. In that regard, it’s an excellent game.

I still think RE4 is the better game, but RE5 is still much better than a lot of crap I’ve played. I doubt many future games will come close to RE4 since it was one of those timeless classics that don’t come around very often, so perhaps it’s asking too much of RE5 to top it since no other action / horror game has come close.

I really like it. Basically if you liked RE4 you’ll like RE5. The graphics are excellent. The controls feel dated but I’ve gotten used to it. The co-op is really well done. High replay value: upgradable weapons, you keep your inventory, good amount of unlockable stuff.

When playing single player the AI partner is pretty good. It does some stupid stuff sometimes but in general the AI partner is one of the best ones I’ve seen.

It’s more action oriented than previous games, especially since it’s built around co-op play. But that doesn’t really bother me.

So I collected Swords for a long time until they all got stolen but recently I just started collecting again. I got a few replica sword from different movies and shows but what I really want to start to collect are the Kit Rae “Swords of the Ancients”. Some of these swords are supper hard to find now if not impossible.

Kit Rae has designed things like all the knives you’ve seen in Star Trek for the last 15-20 years, the Indiana Jones Bowie and the knife Kano uses in the fight with Sonia Blade in the first Mortal Kombat movie.

But I just ordered my first one the other day and can’t wait for it to come in today. I tried the get the one the was hard to find so I could have it…if that makes sense.

But here is the web site if any one wants to just look at some cool swords and knives. He also wrote a whole mythology to go with them (but its a long read) as well as drawings for each sword.

Preparing for the zombie attack.

I got my Pearl Jam Super Deluxe Psycho Nerd Ten Re-Issue pack yesterday. It is awesome. Four records, a DVD of MTV Unplugged, lots of new art and whatnot, CDs, other stuff, and a gorgeous linen case.

I even got a Mookie Blaylock rookie card.

I wish I’d gotten two - one to keep sealed.

Question…what super-hero has the greatest villains?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer- if you consider her part of the Super Hero genre. I am referring to the villains from the TV show. The Mayor, The Master, Angelus, Drusilla, Caleb the Preacher, The First Evil, Willow, etc… Can’t say I enjoyed every season nor every episode- but there are easily a few dozen or more episodes of that show that are really well done.

I was collecting them too until I ran out of room. I would have to start hanging them from the walls (which I will probably do if I get my own house). Everyone who comes over wants to play with them though.

I gave one Blade replica away to the people who helped me move.

Thanks for the link.

Anybody heard the latest reports that Chris Pine has been officially offered the role of Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie?

http://www.latinoreview.com/news/offer-out-to-chris-pine-for-green-lantern-6408

It seems that Pine has yet to accept or reject the offer. It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out…

So Captain Kirk is Parallax?
WolBarret wrote:

Possibly. If that’s the storyline they plan to run with. One thing’s for sure: by offering Pine the gig at this stage, the Hollywood suits must be pretty confident that Abrams’ take on Star Trek will do some serious damage at the box-office…

Justice League The New Frontier is GREAT! I know I’m ;ate to the party but I only just got around to watching it today and this was really well done! I was shocked by some parts and didn’t realize it was PG-13.

Punisher War Zone - I haven’t finished the entire movie yet, but the first 30 minutes of this is done just like the graphic novels.

It’s got some week acting and a paper-thin plot, but the action’s pretty cool; I’m all about the gore. I certainly liked it much more than the Thomas Jane one…though I’m not sure if I liked it more than the Dolph Lundgren one.

Agreed, but I don’t think it was just the acting that was weak but the dialog. Whoever wrote the script came up with pretty one dimensional characters.

For Frank, that’s all he is. It doesn’t work for everyone else.

-Weak Story
-Weak script
-Great gore scenes. This may be the most bullet wounds to the forehead in a movie.

I don’t understand how they didn’t get everything right this time.

This was the best Frank Castle and actually was closer to the graphic novels than the others.

Yep, bad characters, plot holes and over-the-top bad accents. Dominic West (Jigsaw) is normally great in other movies (and on The Wire), so I’m wondering if the accents and acting were an intentional choice by the director.

I thought the action and violence was great though and I think that Ray Stevenson was a great choice for Frank Castle.

I watched the making of and now blame the director for everything. The whole movie felt like it was made by someone who didn’t understand the culture in New York. It actually had some good actors in it (even including that weird guy who was on X-files as the guy who could stretch and crawl through small spaces to kill people). It was the overdone accents that killed it and every foreign actor in that movie has been in enough other movies for us to know they really can get an American accent down whenever they please.

It is like the director walked in and forced everyone to be as unreal as possible.

Thanks for the RE5 Reviews guys, appreciate it. I’m going to have a go at it this coming weekend, and if it’s good I’ll pick up a copy next week.
