Geek S**T Generation 2.0

Anyone interested in seeing this? I enjoyed the first 2 Underworld films and own them on Bluray. This one is a prequel with a slightly different cast, and a new director.

Edit - shit, already posted.

Yeah…this is the Geek Shit thread. Just expect that somebody is more geek than you and that might prevent double posts.

Either way, yes, I plan on seeing it. I am a fan of the franchise.

Rhona vs. Kate in a sexy vampire cat fight?

I’ve always liked Kate’s acting more than Rhona.

Vampires are Pussies. Werewolves rule.

Vamps are nothing more than pale goth kids with super powers.

CHRIST!! I went to IGN to find the trailer for Taken and the new Street Fighter movie poster was the first thing I saw. I think this one might be as bad as the first one.

Are you joking? It’s got Michael Clark Duncan and “Lana Lang” in it. That looks NOTHING like the B-movie status of the first one.
I didnt know MCD made it an automatic hit…what was I thinking Dare Devil was such a great movie. I like MCD but he has made bad movies.

And I never said it looked like the first one, but it doesn’t look like a very good movie. And except for Michael Clark Duncan it is all B-list actors.

Duncan is the only reason to watch Dare Devil. That seems to be the only movie he’s been in that many consider “bad” even though tons of people saw it.

“Lana” hasn’t been in many movies. She’s a regular on Smallville which I am sure can be described as a hit tv show at this point despite its short comings. The “albino” guy has been in tons of movies as well and can act pretty well.

I may not see this at the movie theater, but relating it to that piece of crap that came out decades back is really an insult, don’t you think?

Michael Clark Duncan as Kratos.

Believe.

RIP EGM. :[

Here’s some more info:

I have to admit, I’m a little bummed by this news. I’ve subscribed to EGM for years and it’ll be sad to see it go.

I know you can read all the reviews and such online, but still, there was something tangible with the print product that you just can’t get from a website.
Man, that’s really sad to me. EGM was a big part of my early days, and I agree with the “print” version sentiment. I vividly remember the days before the interwebz when I would pretty much run home from school because I couldn’t wait to find the newest issue in the mailbox, tear off the cellophane wrapper, and dig in.

Neal McDonough as M. Bison is just as bad as casting Raul Julia. This is going to kill any chance this franchise has for future movies.

While I do think this one looks better than the original JCVD vehicle, that fact alone is what pretty much kills it for me. Let’s take a huge, dark-haired, bad-ass shadow organization leader and make him a short, blonde-haired guy with a goatee? Oh, I see how you got there, makes perfect sense.

Granted, there aren’t many people that could fill the look of the real M. Bison (the guy is huge compared to most of the other fighters) while pulling off at least a little bit of acting at the same time, but this choice just baffles me. Hell, even Dwayne Johnson would’ve fit the role better than McDonough. At least he kind of looks like the game character, and his acting is decent enough. I don’t think this movie is looking to win any Oscars, anyway.

Funny, I was thinking of DJ as well.

Some of us will just have to get into acting, I suppose

So am I a masochist if I think the new Streetfigher looks cool?
Nah, I’d just say you were an optimist. I’ve actually been looking forward to this since I heard Kristen Kreuk was going to be in it (Smallville hasn’t been the same without her, and Michael Rosenbaum).

As Prof X said, I may not see it in the theater, but I will definitely see it as soon as it hits Blu-Ray.

What an injustice to real videogame players everywhere. It’s just not like it use to be.

Shocked? Don’t be. Unlike most video games that can be bought at retail, Wii Sports comes bundled with the Wii hardware in every territory other than Japan and Korea. In other words, if you bought a Wii, you bought Wii Sports whether you liked it or not (chances are, you liked it). With over 45 million Wiis sold worldwide to date, it’s only logical that Wii Sports would start smashing records sooner or later.
Of course, I guess they were only beating themselves, anyway. So I wonder, who’s the true #1?

Edit: Not surprised.

I swear to God, if the Wii Fit ever cracks the list, shit’s gonna get fucked up.

Don’t lose hope. The PS2 and Xbox 360 both saw more play time in 2008 than the Wii did. At least according to Nielsen.

A lot of Wiis are apparently sitting on a shelf, gathering dust.

I know mine is. I don’t think I’ve played it in over six months. Most of my gaming is on my 360.

My friends haven’t played their Wii Fit since it called them fat.

I had a Wii but left it with my roomate when I moved. It was a blast at first, especially if I had people over, but damn that shit lost it’s luster in a hurry.

And I looked like a goofball every time I fought a fish on that Rapala Fishing Tourney game.

Bullshit list. They don’t count online sales (HL2 on Steam for example) or monthly subscription based games and they selectively bundle separate games together for a higher rating. World of Warcraft and it’s extensions probably top that list easily by now.
