Neat.

You better not be talking bad about Mario.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to put that to the top of my queue.

Thoughts?

Looking at that pic, my instinct says, “Oh shit, they are going to F this up.” However, I think the trailer looked pretty bad ass and I’m going to reserve judgment until I see it in May.

I bought my sister Guitar Hero: World Tour for Christmas and she and I have played nothing else since.

Typically she rocks the drums and I hit either vocals (I do an impressive post-punk rendition of No Sleep Til Brooklyn) or lead guitar.

Although it’s still quite challenging, the addition of an easier difficulty level has made this one of the best pick up ‘n’ play games ever. Combined with downloadable music packs and a music editor the replay value on the title looks nearly limitless…until the next one comes out anyway.

If you’re not playing music games, you’re missing out on a great experience. Few things in life can beat shredding through “Hot for Teacher”.

I found the downloads really limiting. Rockband has a lot more variety to their downloads.

I hope someone will be able to help me here.
I have just finished watching all 3 seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender in 5 days… it was really really awesome. But now I would like some other good show to watch, something that is as good as Avatar. With likeable characters (and some romance), deep and good storyline(s), good graphics and some awesome fights too. Another show I also liked is Spectacular Spider-Man. Im not really a big anime-fan, but that may be because I have never watched much anime.

I doubt there will be another Avatar any time soon. Frankly, that one surprised the shit out of me. I haven’t seen many (if any) cartoons get that in depth into who certain characters are and why. It rivaled some long running tv series.

They are making a movie out of it, but M. Night Shamamalama is making it so I am only hoping he doesn’t destroy what apparently took years to put together.

So wait… Avatar is actually good? I thought it was a show on Nickelodeon.

Buy it on dvd and actually pay attention to the story. Yes, it is not only good, but the story itself is trying to get a point across much deeper than “kids in action sequences”. There is a ton of symbolism in it and, like I wrote, the character development is impressive.

By the end, nearly every one of those kids is different than how they started out.

Ditto.

A great show.

geek question: what is better to use for an audio cable, hdmi or fiber optic? my reciever utilizes both and the ps3 has outputs for both.

should i just run the hdmi to the reciever or run it to the t.v. and use a fiber optic audio for output to the reciever?

HDMI supports 7.1 audio, and as far as I’m aware, optical does not.

I don’t think you’d hear a difference in quality, though if you have the functionality then use the HDMI - I’ve read that there are lossless audio codecs with HD video that you would’ve get via optical but will via HDMI.

Optical will probably die out since HDMI is a new technology and will most likely become a standard, and optical will also have less support in the future.

This is what I do, but only because I have an older receiver that doesn’t support HDMI. If it did, then I’d use the HDMI connection for all of it. As RSGZ already stated, I don’t believe optical supports 7.1 and I know you generally need to use a newer received an HDMI to use the newer losses Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio formats.

Hmm, what knife to slit my wrists with? So many options…

So my PC’s power supply took a dump on me today, but not a real big deal takes about 2 min to pull it out and put a new one in. Also went and put my pre-orders in for SF IV and Killzone 2. Cant wait!

Misterhamper as far as shows you can watch, my favorite show of all time is/was Rurouni Kenshin. It?s got some of the most bad ass fights in it, badass Characters, romance and even more badass villains. All this show will make you think and has some great philosophical questions for you to think about.

In a nutshell its about the most badass Samurai that fought during the Tokugawa Revolution, Kenshin Hemora, who vows never to kill again. But b/c of his reputation as The Battousai (The Man Slayer) people want to prove them selves against him or need his help.

Some other good shows to take a look at

Gundam Wing
Gundam Seed
Gundam Seed Destiny
Tri-Gun
Bleach
Afro Samurai
Samurai Champloo

I could keep going

And the best episode of Avatar was the tribute to Mako, hands down.

I take it you’ve seen the bad ass Samurai X OVA’s as well.

A couple of fights from Rurouni Kenshin. I think the English dubs for this show are better than the Jap version but couldnt find any on youtube. These fights are good but they aren’t the best ones and they would be better if you understood the context of them, so go and watch the show =)

I hope you enjoy.

You would be right. Ill watch Them fairly often and the series once a year at least.

Also, check out Ninja Scroll. Greatest stand alone OVA ever
