You know everyone said it was great but I just played my first hour of arkham city and holy shit that is amazing. I did a few story missions but had so much fun just dicking around the city and bitch slapping random thugs.
I spent a good deal of my vacation around Christmas time playing it. I thought the story was too short since I beat it in 2 days - until I realized I had played 10+ hours over those 2 days.

I then spent the next week hunting the Riddler trohpies/challenges just so I could beat him and that probably took me 2x as long as it did to beat the main story. I collected all of them in Arkham Asylum, but they seemed much harder in Arkham City - I collected just enough (400ish) to unlock the final Riddler room (I actually found Riddler’s final room early in the game and was pissed there was clearly a door in detective vision I couldn’t open).

The Riddler rooms were probably my favorite part of the game.
I’m enjoying the hell out of it so far. It does create a problem in my plans because I also bought all the assassin creed games over the holidays and was planning on beating both batman games then playing through those but as huge as arkham city seems it might be a long time before I get to AC.

Played through ME3.

Spoiler Alert:

Is there a secret ending which doesn’t suck?

I mean, really? I got through all that shit (1, 2 and 3), beating the odds again and again, enduring the railroading in ME2 (cerberus) and the stupid-ass council and all that… Murdering the fuck out of more enemies than there are normal people in the universe… Only to end up with that weird kid presenting me with 3 choices which all unequivocally suck? And I can’t even convince him to maybe chill out and just be nice to people… Or… I dunno… Punch him in the face without killing all other synthetics… Or something?

Lucky Joker though… He ended up crash-landing on a nice jungle planet with EDI and Tali (who I thought got vapiorized along with most of me in the final charge, but apparently decided that love only went so far and thus headed straight to the normandy instead, forgoing a major reaper-death-ray-induced sunburn).
Oh, and in his last moments, Shepard thinks first of Joker (uh, out of the left field much? Maybe there’s something you’d like to tell us, Shepard? I played a male fwiw), and then Anderson and Liara. Apparently regardless of who your love interest was, who you talked to most to or whatever. Kind of strange.

Also, so we finally get to see Tali’s face, sort of. And the developers apparently didn’t think that her picture may be worth a higher texture resolution than one of the desks or something. Or is that thanks to the whole console thing…

Had a lot of fun playing it (multiplayer is so bugged with no-damage/no-pickup bugs that it’s just no fun though, yet)… But… It was a great deal shorter than I’d have liked, and not finding out what happens to all my buddies afterwards kind of sucked.

Typical Bioware Ending ™ BS. See NWN2. Killed off the series with no real closure and forcing you into choosing between 3 bad endings (which are fairly similar in the way they play out) and no good one. So weird and unsatisfying if you’ve spent 100+ hours on all three games combined…

/End spoilers
Spoiler Alert:

Is the ending the ending? ME2 saw 5-6 DLC packages. ME3 has one “day of sale” DLC so far. I would expect DLC for ME3 to be similar to previous DLCs like Shadow Broker, Arrival, Falling Skies, etc…

The way I see it, everything after getting hit with Harbinger’s death ray takes place in a dream state, and results end in one of three ways. Shepherd gets dead. Shepherd gets indoctrinated. Shepherd beats indoctrination and survives. The mass relay destruction, the Normandy on Mystery Planet X, and the old man just seem like the conclusion of the dream sequence. If you chose correctly (like I did) then that last breath scene just before the credits roll is the transition from the dream state back to reality.

My hope for the DLC is to let those of us that beat indoctrination and survived to pick up our guns and continue the fight. Those that died are screwed. They’ll have to replay the game or load an old save file. Those that chose indoctrination should get to play as Husk Shepherd, or Marauder Shields Shepherd, or even better a new class of Reaper Commander Shepherd or something like that.

/End spoilers

You guys remember the screen that says Shepard becomes a legend and you continue to build on that with DLC or something after beating the game. That really does mean he beat the threat. They are going to release a DLC that expands on the endings with cinematics to explain it further. Bet it will still suck and not make sense.

The animation sucks. No beating around the bush. The other movies they’ve done LOOKED great as well.

This one looks “cheap”.
I think they’re going for the look of that comic here’s a page from the issue they are using. It reminds me of how Dark Knight looked similar to art used in the book like Catwoman having a butch haircut etc
The DC animated movies tend to reflect the art style of a specific mini-series or story arc. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies looks like Ed McGuinness’ art from the fist Supes/Bats story arc, while the sequel Superman/Batman: Apocalypse looked more like Micheal Turner’s style. They also did it with All-Star Superman as well. I’d guess if they ever tried turnin one of the Alex Ross into an animated film we’d see a much different art style than from previous movies.

So…if they are aliens, they aren’t turtles, mutants, or ninjas. That leaves Teenage Aliens - which sounds far more exciting. Thanks, Bay.
Meh. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles, not that big of a deal. The fact that Bay is involved at all is the biggest disappointment. The guy made three shitty movies about giant robots beating each other senseless. With his track record we’re gonna get 15 minutes of ninja turtles, 75 minutes of 57 other regular human characters, 35 minutes military deployment, 16 minutes of fart, piss, and pot jokes.

True story, they’re already limiting the consoles with a new generation of discs.
Well, duh… It’s not like the NeXtbox can keep using DVDs.

You dont charge someone full price for buying a used car, why can they do it with discs.

Have you guys seen these? There is one of those little machines that has them at my store. Only problem is there are suppose to be 14 of them but they only put 6 different ones in mine which I finally got the last two I needed yesterday. Going to check the other foodlions to see if they have the same machine with different ones in them.

I don’t think it’s sad. Unless you hate playing video games, and you buy it out of some form of compulsion, then that would be sad.

It’s all still just speculation and rumor.

That one seemingly minor change wipes out the entire backstory: no turtles or mutagen means no Splinter (as we know him), that means no ninja origin, or Shredder, either. So,you can scratch ‘ninja’ from the title as well. FTR, Bay was responsible for ‘reimagining’ the concept, so in all likelihood, he’s only done it to fit his cookie cutter approach to movie-making.

On the bright side, there’ll probably be a Victoria’s Secret model in there somewhere. He put one in the last Transformers movie, and another one in Pain and Gain. Seems to be his new trademark.

In summary: more of our childhood will be completely stomped on, but April O’Neal is going to be really, really fucking hot.

When you lay it out that way it softens the blow a little at least…

Sweet never knew about them until I saw the machine the other week. So I have one set complete to bad I’d have to pay out the ass to get the other.

If you can have alien turtles then why can’t you have an alien rat? And I fail to see why Shredder can’t be included either?

Y’all should be grateful I’m not allowed to make movies. I wouldn’t stop with just the four turtles. I’d put in the Triceratons, Ace Duck, Mondo Gecko, the robot ninja turtle, Hothead, Ray Fillet, Doctor El, and if possible Usagi fucking Yojimbo. By the time I was done half the animal kingdom would be engaged in combat and we’d still have to deal with Krang, Shredder, and the Foot clan. I’d also cast Jennifer Lawrence as April O’Niel and maybe Teresa Palmer as Casey Jones. Then I’d play up the whole developing romance between April and Casey.
