Anybody here get the new Splinter Cell? Just picked up yesterday and spent 5 hours with the son playing co-op campaign. Not bad.

I got it the day it came out. It was awesome. The face-off mode is addictive as hell.

Got the HTC Incredible for Verizon. Love it so far.
Have the Body Glove case which thickens the phone but seems really protective.
Some of the apps for Android are amazing.
Might get the Seidio slim extended battery (1750 mAh vs stock 1300 mAh … same size as stock) or OEM extended battery - 2150 mAh, but thickens battery so needs a new back cover - if there’s a nice enough case that can accommodate the enlarged dimension (supposedly only adds 1 mm).
Camera is amazing. Phone is really fast.
Good stuff! I’m out of contract next month so I’ll see what’s around or upcoming at that stage. Can you get various back covers for the Incredible?
The extended battery does come with a new back cover. I don’t know if other back covers will be made for cosmetic purposes.
The camera on the phone is really nice. There’s even a free app to enable tethering and another to enable SIP trunking (free VOIP).
I just want the extended battery (only if it’s officially by HTC), new case for the phone to accomodate the thickened body, and a 32 GB class 6 microSDHC.
The phone is awesome, but I’m playing way too much with it. I’m draining the battery twice a day because I can’t stop playing with apps and the camera.

Nothing wrong with that. I want to go into a shop and play with the Desire before I get one as I want to be sure I’ll be happy with it. There are some apps you can get to kill some of the tasks which is supposed to get the battery to last 2-3 days. I imagine that would mean disabling 3G and other features though.

Correct. I think because of the nature of multi-tasking built into the OS, Android phones have inherently worse battery life than if they did not allow multi-tasking. But plenty of people use Android phones and either carry chargers with them or buy an extended battery.
You can disable “mobile network” which shuts off wifi and 3G and I think something else, for the times where you can make do with just having cellular network. It dramatically improves battery life.
I still think the HTC Desire is your best bet. If the Samsung Galaxy S comes to Europe and it’s not locked down with Yahoo services (it will debut with Yahoo’s equivalent to Google’s apps on Android phones), you might want to check that out. The Super AMOLED screen is brighter, gets 20% better battery life and is 80% less reflective (you can legitimately view the screen in sunlight). Plus, the phone will allow you to control many samsung electronics. Although, I personally find the Desire to have sexy industrial design.
Lots of options. Just wait until the summer.

I’ve skimmed over the new Samsungs, but I’m not sure about the OS compared to Android. I liked the iPhone OS because it was simple and looked good, however, I like more control and features over my gadgets.
I guess I’ll have to keep waiting and researching. What phones need now is a major breakthrough in the battery department - seriously.

In other news…
HP’s New DV6 range has been announced, and fuck me is it sexy.
They’ve moved to aluminium casings and again seem to have ripped off the Mac Books (arguably), however they do have one feature most laptops don’t - a multi-touch screen.
I’m considering one of these when they get launched here, that is ofcourse if there are no reliability issues with them.

The OS is stock Android, but skinned. You can bet that the xda team, the guys who root just about every HTC phone, will try to root the Galaxy S if only to offer the option of stock Android (no skin) or some other custom theme.
Remember, the more abhorrent a “feature” or software-based aesthetic, the more fervor among developers who want to hack/root the device.
We can only hope the stock Samsung theme is abhorrent; the hacker community will descend upon the challenge.
Okay picked up Lost Planet 2 last night. Interesting concept to play your campaign online anybody else pick it up. My playstation tag is texas_2008 in case someone has it.
Bryan Singer possible back to direct Wolverine 2, I like the article I just feel that Blade came out before X-Men and I feel that Snipes helped to bring comic book characters to the mainstream after that abortion that was Batman and Robin
God i love america
I end up buying not only GOW 3 but GOW collection, Dante Inferno Divine Edition, Katamari, Borderlands, Final Fantasy 13, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 and Prototype.
Also DSI XL with Phoenix Wright, New Mario Bros, Zelda Spirit Tracks, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows(!!!) and Castlevania Portrait of Ruin(!!!)
I’m amazed by how the DSI XL ressurected my interest in nintendo games, simple games give me much more fun than Bayonetta/Gears Of Wars/etc

I heard ps3 version SUCKS compared to xbox360 due to the MT framework something like that.

Dont know, I have both systems but do not get the 360 live. PS3 version is fun interesting game, is very difficult with the AI partners. I needed a game to take up the time until RDR.
Question, Anyone know when the Notion Adam tablet is coming out? Im about to break down and buy an Ipad but I have a feeling I will regret it.

I am waiting for one, too. Last I read it was said to be launched later this summer. Looks amazing and I hope it blows the iPad out of the water in reviews.

dont know about the rest of you but Im going to pick up Red Dear Redemption as soon as game stop opens tomorrow. IGN gave it a 9.7, this game looks fucking sweet!!

If they dont have a firm date and that date is in June I am buying an Ipad, A great product / idea that is never released for sale or makes it late to the party is still sub par.

I won’t have it until tomorrow.
The reviews make it seem a lot like GTA…and I am not sure how good that is considering what they accomplished in Assassin’s Creed 2. Maybe they should have taken notes.
There were very few glitches in Assassin’s Creed whereas one of the reviews I saw showed some of the same bugs that San Andreas had…like suddenly going from standing next to a car to standing on top of it or things like that.
I am sure the game is sweet either way and hopefully, it takes me forever to actually finish it.
The downside of AC2 is the lack of real shit to do once the game is beat.
