don’t worry, man. Dragon Age will hold you over til some used copies of AC II to hit the shelves. You made the right choice.
Here is my newest pride and joy - for anyone that’s interested.
Specs:
Gigabyte X58-UD7 (Same as in the pics I posted before)
Intel i7 920 Overclocked @ 3.2ghz
12gb DDR3 1600MHZ
PNY Geforce GTX 285 (The BFG Graphics brands are out of stock here, everywhere)
150gb Western Digital Velociraptor
1tb Western Digital Black Edition
850w Corsair HX PSU
Antec P183 Case
23" Samsung LED LCD.
It runs like a beast - I’ve geared it towards graphics and 3D primarily.
I must say I’m still not that impressed with the Velociraptor for the price - although it’s still a lot cheaper than a SSD. Hard Drive manufacturers have a lot of catching up to do, they are the only components lagging behind in speed on a computer.
Even the new Sata 3 drive that’s been released, is shocking when it comes to real-life performance. This is why I opted not to get one of those.
Optical drives are on their way out too, in my opinion - I installed Windows 7 from my flash drive, and don’t really have a use for CDs anymore. They too, are a weak link as far as I’m concerned.
I’ve played the PS3 demo a couple times and think this game looks and plays really well. Reviewers call it “God of War for Xbox” which is true because it reminded me of that. The cut scenes in this game look great. There is this one move where you threw a guy up in the air and would grab him and were prompted to move both analog sticks to the side to tear them in half. Let me tell you, this was very satisfying!
Defiantly going to get this game along with God of War to escape my first person shooters I’m getting bored of.

That’s a nice rig with some good specs…how much did everything cost?

£2000, all in all. I’ve future-proofed as much as I could, for now.

All I get is double vision and a headache. I have never put on these damned glasses and been amazed.
All I want to do is watch yet another Final Destination fuck up without a migraine.
is that too much to ask?[/quote]
x2 the 3D glasses don’t work for me. They bring the 2 images closer together, but still far from overlapping. I have mild astigmatism, which may have something to do with it, but it’s very mild. I only need to use my glasses after sitting in front of a computer screen for hours.
Also, thanks for your Assassin’s Creed response. I think I’ll pick it up again.

Droooooool. And I was all excited about putting windows 7 on my notebook
Just read the TPB for All Star Batman and Robin by Frank Miller penned by Jim Lee. Pretty interesting take on Batman and Robin. Robin ends up kicking the crap out of Hal Jordan at the end. Pretty good book I’d definitely recommend a look.
Speaking of Batman, have any of you played Batman: Arkham Asylum? I’ve been enjoying it thoroughly for the past month, and I wasn’t even a Batman fan prior to this. The game combines a very friendly gameplay that’s easy to learn but difficult to master, very eerie and fantasy-like graphics and atmosphere, and a learning manual of sorts for those who don’t know much about the Batman universe. I’m talking about the Riddles scattered about (think “hidden packages” in Grand Theft Auto) that gives a nugget of history about the characters, whether they appear in the game or not.
Like I said, a very enjoyable game. Playing the challenge mode and beating the crap out of a mob of inmates is very satisfying after a long work day. And if nothing else, every character in this game is seriously jacked!! Wait till you see Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, too.
What does everyone think of this game. I played the first one and enjoyed parts, but thought it was way to short. I have read that they fixed a lot of those complaints. Any thoughts?

Pretty cool game. I got the demo but so far you can upgrade your guns on the fly, when you buy a upgrade you can add them to other guns not having to buy them over again, and if your going to use any gun use the shot gun. You can blow guys heads straight off! The HUD for the mask is more interrogated/sophisticated. Way more customization with masks etc. The demo didn’t go into full detail. Game play is still the same.
My complaint is when a friend goes down and you try to pull them back you have to make a circle with your guy in order to pull them back to where you were for cover (Only sometimes happens. Just the way you teammate goes down and faces). I got killed three times doing this.
I agree on the first one being short. Demo not being the fully completed game it should be alright.

Rent or Buy? I normally buy games and then trade in at Gamestop. Only keep games that I will play down the road like Fallout 3, Tiger Woods Golf etc.
