First off, not being able to stay relaxed and play some MP is your problem. Second, not being able to do something the way you used to(and still want to seems to be the tone you have) makes it overrated?[/quote]
I’m just providing a different viewpoint. I never said anything about rage quitting or screaming at 14 year olds. People who are into deathmatch style play are usually in it for the rush you get from competition; which I’m usually just not interested in. I should’ve worded it better but that’s what I was referring to.
And it’s overrated because it seems like every time I read about a game they list lack of multiplayer as negatives in games where it isn’t even appropriate to have multiplayer. Then you have developers sacrificing single player story and campaigns to cram in some half assed capture the flag. Multiplayer games have their place; but they are just another time of game, not something every game needs to have.
lol, yeah I’m not your typical southerner. That’s ok though. Most of the country folk around here are pretty nice and they make me look good so I’ve stuck around.
Ironman 2 will be very cool! With War Machine now in the picture! Shoulder minigun FTW!
Game news:
Alan Wake (Xbox 360 & Pc)
Seem like a cool game from what I can tell from the videos I’ve been watching. I like the dark feel and look to it. I was tuned into the sounds of this game. One video I was watching a police patrol was searching for the main character and dog barks could be heard in the distance and was echoing through the mountain. Surround system will make this game that much more enjoyable.
I don’t own a 360 but games that are exclusive to a certain platform seem to be better than ones that are available for multiplatforming. Some exceptions tho…
The backwards compatibility list is pretty long. The PS3 had far more backwards compatibility issues than the 360 ever had. Wasn’t the 2nd gen 80gig PS3 the only playstation console to be completely backwards compatible? And wasn’t the PS2 emulator removed from the 3rd gen PS3 and the current PS3 Slim?

It couldnt play Oddworld: strangers wrath, which is one of the best games I had ever played on the original xbox…

I have the first gen ps3. When I played GTA: SA for PS2 on my PS3 the picture went from a 42" flat screen to a 32" (guesstamation). Did that occur for you? It was just to poor quality and I gave up on playing it.
Gigabyte was always my favorite mobo maker (because they would stuff their mobos with features), then Abit, then Asus. I used to love nVidia chipset boards until I heard that, on average, Intel chipset boards have the fewest problems with Intel processors (e.g. problems = random lockups). Not sure how true it is but if the Intel chipsets were essentially the reference designs tested with their own processors, I wouldn’t be too surprised.
Is that a Zalman heatsink?
I really would want to try a Swift Tech water cooling system (or whatever is a good one these days). I remember my friends in high school popping in Celeron 300A procs and overclocking the shit out of them. Hell, that’s when all the cool kids used peltier coolers.
Next step for you: ATI Radeon 5970 x2 (SLI)…and a 1000w PSU. And a 30" S-IPS LCD panel.
But…
I seriously hope you buy a PCI-E RAID card that has dedicated RAID controllers (I dont’ think all of them do) with an absurd amount of onboard memory, then RAID 0 (or 0+1 if you don’t have a separate hard drive for storage) two Intel G2 SSDs (160 GB each). If you want to save some money, go for the OCZ Vertex series, since both manufacturers will support TRIM, but the Intels have less performance drop in random read/write speeds after being used - the real test of an SSDs worthiness.
You would honestly never upgrade your computer again…and not eat for at least 6 months, but who cares?
