Ignorant.

And I bet you never use a belt, right?

This kinda of mind set is why there’s no consensus in powerlifting to for a unified federation for raw, single and unlimited ply divisions under one roof.

Well belts make you weak. I’m pretty sure they also make you gay so watch out.

I’m not sure why, with all the trash talk, this particular guys posts got on my wick like they did.

Perhaps it’s the high-handed talk about what he would do if he were to compete. Don’t tell people about what you would do, hypothetically, in any situation. Tell us what you actually did do. Until you do it, it’s bullshit. That doesn’t just apply to lifting and competition but every aspect of life. Until you’ve lived it, you don’t know shit about what you’d do, just what you think you’d like to do.

I never said anything about what I would do in a competition. I said I have thought of doing a meet one day to record my numbers somewhere other than my journal, how exactly is that high handed talk about what I would do? It isn’t. You are a little, angry man and your lifts suck.
If you’re referring to me being a little angry man; I’ve give you the little, but I’m a woman.

You still sound a bit silly. Until you compete in any federation; raw, single ply or multi ply your opinions are uninformed. You can rationalise however you like but it is what it is. Leave it to people who have at least a marginal amount of real life experience.

Have fun the way you want to have fun, and don’t piss all over other people that want to have fun in a different way. I swear, this is as bad as kids arguing over Playstation vs. Xbox.
What you don’t get paid? Wait, never mind.

I don’t understand how you can have such a strong opinion on gear versus raw when YOU HAVE NEVER COMPETED. I can see Raw lifters (as in those that have actually had the balls (or vagina) to step on a platform) arguing against Single-ply lifters arguing against Multi-ply high squatters like Buckeye Girl. But the fact of the matter is, until you have put your ‘thoughts’ about competing into action, it doesn’t matter whether you think using gear is silly or not. In fact I’m sure that’s how the guys at my gym justify the fact that I squat more than them… it must be the belt and knee wraps.

Compete, then come back and state if your opinion is still the same. Chances are they might be, chances are you will want more and more and the high of lifting heavier weights will get you to overcome your snobbery towards equipment. Or maybe you’ll bomb out in squats because your gym squats aren’t real squats…

No, I’m just a jealous catty bitch.

I want to be able to put on briefs and magically put 50lbs on my squat.

Fact of the matter is, wearing a loose single ply suit (bottoms only) for the first time, I almost fell on my face.

Haha, the first time I wore briefs, they were a size too big and threw me so far forwards that I almost didn’t make it to the box. To top things off, I misssed the monolift with 400 lbs on my back and had to figure out how to get out from under that weight and then get the plates off. One side of the bar was in the rack and the other was jammed into the rubber flooring.

Whoever says multiply is easier has never worn ace briefs.

Yeah, I use a monolift because everyone knows that you aren’t actually squatting the weight unless you walk it out first.

This post seems very appropriate:

Personally I have been competing within the IPF using single ply. And my personal opinion is that all the time and effort you need to spend to use the lifting gear is not worth it. Basically I stopped competing, and just lift for myself, wearing no gear but shoes and clothes.

If others want to lift with a forklift or whatever does not really concern me. I think everyone should do what they like and don’
t bother others that have different opinions when it comes to use of gear.

Geez,

Stuff yourself into a sausage suit

Walk around like a mummy at meets

Inhale ammonia like a coke head

Inject yourself with a pharmacy

Increase your spare tire and call it healthy

…and enjoy every minute of it. Everything you do, you do to yourself which is pretty cool with me.

Oh, and lift naked at home.

Yeah when you call us men. Duh.
Wilba wrote:

Seems like your reading comprehension is lacking and you aren’t getting their point.

Let me summarize it for you:

Unless you compete as a powerlifter, you have right or authority to mandate what powerlifters should and should not do in powerlifting competitions.

The sport of powerlifting, unlike many other sports, exists solely for the benefit of its participants. This isn’t pro football or basketball where the sport is sold to spectators. If you are outside the sport, not only is your opinion uninformed, but also irrelevant because no one in powerlifting gives a damn what some nameless, faceless, maybesomedaygonnabe gym rat thinks.

Now I’m mandating? I called it silly you stupid fuck. What part of that didn’t you see in the 15 other posts?

ouroboro_s - as I said, didn’t realize. You still come off as angry.

Perhaps. I can’t argue with you there. Your statements angered me because the way in which you originally posted came off as ‘holier than thou’. That may not have been your intention but that is, nonetheless, how it appears.
