Hey guys, I need to resurrect this thread. I ordered a forever belt, double pronged, medium from inzer’s website almost a month ago, and they told me it may be a while before I get my belt. I canceled the order, and now have no idea where to go. I’d be willing to spend up to $60 on a belt, but b/c money is tight I can’t go over that amount.
Any recommendations? I’ve used a buddies’ inzer belt and it was great! Set a PR on deadlift with 525, and it works great with squats. I believe it is 13mm thick. For what it’s worth, I stick to the 181 lb weight class, and am currently weighing in around 190, maybe 195, so any other advice would be appreciated (size wise).

Stick with the 10mm. That’s plenty of support for most people. Medium seems to be about right for 181s, but double check the size chart and remember that you may need to go bigger if you’re wearing gear.

I’m going to be competing for the first time in May. I already have my gear except for knee wraps. Would you say that there are ‘beginner’s wraps’ vs. those for experienced lifters? Also, I’ve noticed that many people here use various wraps- does the variety help you or are you continually searching for the ‘perfect’ wrap?
I’ve been looking at the Inzer Iron Z and the APT Black Mamba. Many of the others I looked into sounded pretty hardcore and I don’t know if I would have time to settle with them before my meet.
Hello, just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Spud inc. deadlifting belt. Any info would be cool, particularly sizing, site lists med=32, & large=37, how adjustable are they? I'm looking at new belts as I've lost some gut & am one the last hole of my current one so I'm wary of buying something to large, but 32 is to small, could a large be cinched comfortably down an inch or two?
more if needed in the long term? I generally find deadlifting in a belt distracting, figured this may be a solution. Anyhoo thanks in advance for any help.
I’m doing powerlifting meet here sat first time, borrowed some inzer wraps from a buddy and tried them out over weekend. Apparently I wasn’t wrapping them tight at all, guy wrapped one of my legs for me, and I found it pretty uncomfortable and barely able to feel my legs after about 10sec, and was wondering if wraps are healthy for the knees to be wrapped so tight? Hurts my IT band and cuts into hamstring tendons something wicked. I feel like my tendons, patella, and soft tissue are going to get all mashed up squatting with them. Funny thing is he said he didn’t even torque it as tight as he does his.

Knee wraps aren’t the best for knee health, but then again, a lot of stuff powerlifters do isn’t the best for our health. For a short period of time, they should be fine, unless you have previous knee issues. I wear a pair of Metal All Black 2.5m knee wraps and on my third attempt, I can barely feel my feet when I get to the platform.
If you’re worried about knee health, I’d get some knee sleeves instead of wraps.

A good tight wrap is like a good woman- it will leave bruises. But all joking aside- there is a an inverse realtionship between comfort and performance. It takes some time/practice to get accustomed to tight wraps.
A good tight wrap probably can’t be good for your knees. That said- none if this shit is all that healthy.
I’ve been using my squat suit (single ply) to pull with. I’ve never had a deadlift suit, so I only have a few opinions from others on them, and most of them say the squat suit is just as effective as a deadlft suit. Before I soak a couple hundred into a deadlift suit, what is everyone’s opinion here? I can’t beleive they aren’t effective if so many people are using them, but then again…
Is a deadlift suit worth it and what are you recommending for single ply?

If you’re a conventional puller, buy a Metal Deadlifter. That and the old Marathon DL suits (long since out of production) are really the only conventional suits really worth fucking with. Wear it tight and use a cup (you’ll need it).
If you pull sumo, most good squat suits will do just fine.
Thanks for the input Pinto, that helps alot. I tend to squat wide and pull conventional, so I think I’ll invest into a Metal. That seems to be the suit everyone is using.
hey guys, i need a belt i’m around 324lbs and need a decent 13mil belt.
if anyone knows somewhere in the uk where i can get a good belt for under £70 i will be happy.
For anyone with experience with apt convict single ply knee sleeves:
Just bought them, I’m not sure if they actually sent me the double ply by accident. I have no experience with wraps or sleeves at all, but these seem really stiff. I went a size up from what was suggested, I’m about 205 right now, 5’9" for reference, went with the 211-240 size because I intend on getting bigger, but anyway, they seem like they’re actually going to give me a little boost in my squat.
I bought them because my knees have been aching lately, and I want to keep them healthy. But, I don’t want to enter a meet with them if they are in fact double ply. I’m not close to competing, I’d like to compete in about a year. I just don’t want to get used to these things only to find out I’ve been using a double ply. Not to take anything away from guys that use suits, shirts, etc, I’m just not at that level. I’d like to total elite raw before I start getting into “gear”- if I ever get to gear.
I was definitely charged for the single ply’s…any advice on how I could determine this?
Wish I could help some of you guys out, but I’m just here to ask a question as well…
I was looking to get a set of wraps for heavy squats, as recommended by an older guy I lift with. He’s old enough to be my dad, has squatted over 700, and still can bang out 450+. He said he used them for anything over 3 plates back in the day and his knees are absolutely fine even now…
So I was thinking of anything over 405 throwing 'em on…? My main goal is staying healthy, while getting bigger and stronger of course. FWIW, no plans to compete anytime soon. Maybe down the road a few years, but I’m not getting them with a contest or anything in mind.
I’d say a nice balance of performance and comfort is the goal. Inzer, APT, etc…? Wraps/sleeves? Length?

I have convicts too, and they feel like there are two layers in there. I think the USAPL rule is the sleeves can’t be more than 30 cm, but I don’t recall a rule offhand about “double” ply knee sleeves.
