Extol, the negative feedback you are getting is because it seems like you are bragging about your talent.
This is because it is unclear how the example you used of yourself helps illuminate your question. Also, your question itself is vague.
Instead of “genetically gifted”, did you mean gauging your fast to slow twitch fiber ratio, as suggested earlier? Or something else?
There are a lot of qualities that make someone a better athlete and there are different genetic gifts. If you want better responses, give us more to work with. What sport do you want to get into? What are your current stats? What type of training have you done in the past and how have you responded to it?[/quote]
My question was vague because my understanding of the term was vague.
Not for a sport, for aesthetics and health. It’s my aggression vent too.
Current stats
6’5" 200 15% bodyfat (need to have measured again)
Most of the training I was subjected to in high school was higher rep lower weights, I never grew much. I was built to throw a baseball, not much else.
Theres a strange thing about my developement as an athlete.
In track, I stood out as a sprinter. In wrestling, I was definitely a thrower/grappler, but in the weight room I was allways told the same old dogma.
It’s kind of strange that I was trained in sport toward a natural tendency of fast, explosive strength and movement, but when it came to actual strength trining, I was fed hypertrophy.
Looking back, it’s just goofy. But then, they also used to thing that heavy training would bend your bones.
Hmmmm, the extolling of one’s own virtues and excellence without portraying a certain level of arrogance is a fine line to walk. However, I shall endeavour to attempt it.
Basically I consider myself to be genetically very gifted in two ways, but athletic performance is in no way either of them. I suppose I would say I gain muscle at a moderately decent rate, but certainly nothing to be excessively enthused about.
My strength is probably about average, I would say, it deviates slightly in either direction depending upon which muscle which is concerned. My speed is probably lower than average, I gain fat really rather easily. In general my natural athleticism is certainly in no way enviable.
I have a lightening fast metabolism. I’m only 20 and simply didn’t get the necessary amount of food in my teens to grow. Also I couldn’t allow my weight to rise due to weight classes in fighting. Since I decided to gain for the first time 2-3 months ago I’ve gained 6-7 kilos and added 20 kg to my 1rm on the bench. my bf is the same or maybe at max 2% higher.
Big food=Big you…its that simple
