gamers?

I played D2 up until my son was born. Now when we get him to sleep early enough, I just started plaing NeverWinter Nights.

I’m an avid PS2 gamer. NBA Street Vol. 2 is my fav. right now, although in a month that will change with the release of NCAA 2004.
I also have a GameBoy Advance for travel purposes and still have the original 8-bit NES hooked up.

Agathos… OMG!!! That is one hell of a set up… Man I can’t imagine what your weight room would look like if you had one. I bet you’d have that baby stocked!!

Okay, let’s see how many UBER-nerds there are here.

We may actually need a whole 'nother thread for this, but…

How many people have, at one point or another, played a Massive Multiplayer Online Role playing Game (MMORPG), such as Everquest, The Realm, etc,

OR

A text-based Multi-User Dungeon (MUD), such as GemStone 3, Dragonrealms, etc?

I am guilty.

Stella:

No question your Amazon would beat the shit out of me! My last post was not a challenge. Now NeverWinter Nights I’ll take on all comers. Muhahahhahaha!

Infact I have heard that an expansion and possibly Neverwinter 2 is coming out. With levels higher than 20. It’s about time dammit!!! Ciao.

I love classic games on emulators. Periodicly when I’m bored, I’ll play one of the old snes final fantasy games or something like that. I think for the most part though I managed to burn myself out (or at least severly spoil myself) on videogames when I was younger. I don’t play anywhere near as much as I used to, but when I do I generally prefer rpg’s and strategy games.

JR-
I’ve been guilty of both-- I can out-nerd more people than I’d care to admit

I played MMORPGs. If I had time right now I wish I was in on on Star Wars Galaxies… Hmmm Crossing MMORPG’s and Star Wars, that sounds like I’m really crossin over to ubernerd, gotta work on that. They keep slowly cutting back on real RPG’s though, gotta get something. I couldn’t believe they made a Final Fantasy MMORPG. They’ve never even had a multiplayer component in any that I’ve played.

Tekken is the BOMB! I love it I don’t have PS2 yet I want to get it. I’ll probably get it soon.

I usually go and play it at my buddy or my cousins house. My cousian has both the PS2 an XBox. On 50 in flat screen tv. Its so cool.

Solo’s Girl, I was thinking along the lines of a big garage out back or something, bench, power rack, and I’d like a cable machine… as far as the gaming goes though do you know how hard it is to play those arcade shooters after an EDT workout!?

Wompa we need to get some more 8+ player HALO going again man, that was bad!

I want to play 8 player Halo
I have a new router coming that works with xbox
Live ID: No Soup For You

I’m game for Ghost Recon or any other xbox online games too!!!

I’m suprised, and yet I’m not so surprised to see the response to this thread. Many of you undoubtedly agreed with the “revenge of the nerds” article and perhaps can relate. True, it may not be very becoming of a “big-gym-man-lift-big-weights” type to be a gamer, but then again, how many of the t-men and t-women here are neandrethal-like? (This is not slam to those who’ve built impressive physiques or lift massive poundages). I admit, I’ve been playing games of all genres since I was about 10 years old and I havn’t slowed down in the gaming market at all. In fact, (this is embarrasing), I’ve actually competed against many hundreds of people in tournaments in shoot-em-up games like quake1,2,3 and the likes and have placed very highly (1st most of the time), and have also spent hundreds of hours playing those time-consuming RPGs. Even a couple hours ago I was guilty of playing an emulated arcade version of Killer Instinct 2 on my PC in between my readings of biochemistry texts. Anyways, to sum it up, it seems as though a lot of the t-men and t-women are “geeks” at heart, but for pete’s sake, we’re beautiful, strong geeks. And lets not forget, geeks generally accumulate the highest average salary anyways. Looks, intelligence, and accelerated monetary unit accumulation (eventually)…who could ask for more?

Roman did you ever play the MUD Merentha? Awesome game way back in the day, maybe still is I haven’t played in a few years.

Right now I am playing Enter the Matrix and Red Faction 2. Check out RF2 if you like first person shooters it is pretty awesome and you should be able to get it for about ~30 right now.

D2 is only available for PC. And I do play it on PC on B.net of course. What’s the point if not going to play on Bnet. I also played Blizzard’s other games (StarCraft/BroodWar, WarCraft2, etc.) and I was very very good at 'em although not anymore since I don’t play much. If I remember correctly, my last StarCraft/BroodWar account name was kutelos3r and I had 5-89-2 (that account was supposed to give up the fight after I won to collect massive losses…made it after I got bored of collecting victory after victory)

If you’re on bnet, you can look me up. for D2, my acct name is “gecorp” and my zon name is Picci. I’m sooo tired of building other characters cuz they’re not as fun (don’t like sorc or assassin cuz I don’t like it that they’re so weak in the beginning). But I do admit that the sorc = better at MF, esp. w/ Hell Mephi rape scenarios. I do have a lvl 59 sorceress named Bandit_Killer under another D2 account “ManaGirl”. I don’t think she’s as good as the Zon tho.

I don’t know how the new patch will mess up my zon since her strength is only 110, but her dex is 439, vit 56, energy 15. At least her bow’s decent out of all the shitty equipment she has.

Arcane – wink

I have a PS2 and love it. I play mainly on Splinter Cell and Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Splinter Cell is such a quality game, looking forward to the second one.

Don’t get that much time to play on it as training and my little 8 month old boy takes most of my time up. When he goes to bed though I play on the PS2. When I don’t watch The Soprano’s and Six Feet Under.

Next game I want to get is Colin McRae Rally 3, it’s supposed to be amazing. Not sure if you would’ve heard of him in the States.

I’ve also played Midnight Club 2 which was awesome, might get that instead of Colin McRae 3. Also I’ve been told that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is good - does anyone have that…?

Cheers…Stubob…

So no ones playing SOCOM?

My Xbox live gamer tag is: Dood A Plenti

Although I only rent games now, I havne’t gotten into any of them. I just rented Castle Wolfenstein, played it only for 2 minutes then turned it off. Mech Assault is prob the best xblive game i’ve played

Roman, I used to play Asheron’s Call… And I played Gemstone 3, from '93-99. Did you play during that time?

You want nerds? I still play D&D sometimes. Mwuhahahaha.

Actually my favorite game right now is Madden 2002. Whenever I get together with my friends, we always fire that sucker up.

Stella,
From what I understand about the new patch, none of your 1.09 characters will carry over. You will have to start all over again with all of them. They aren’t going to allow people to “cow” more than once, and they are making it hard if not impossible to rush anyone. Plus they are equalizing the strengths of all characters, which would make zons not so invincible in duelling. It will also be harder to specialize to the extremes that we can now.

For example, once I learned the ropes I built all of my char as specialists. My sorc is a cold sorc mainly, although I do have a very powerful fw as well. She is a level 90, and she can destroy any char in a duel except for zons with a few different specialties. All my orb has to do is touch you once and you are dead though. I don’t be able to build a char like that anymore.

Another thing the patch is going to do is make vulnerabilities in all the characters where they NEED to be in groups to be effective. I will look for your character tonight if I get on. I only play like once an month right now, but you have me inspired!

Halo = crack. I can’t wait for Halo 2.
