In b/c I get excited in my pants at even the slightest whisper of this show. I’m in book 4 now which is definitely a lot drier and I find myself maybe jumping a paragraph ahead or 2 occasionally but so far I am at least remotely enjoying it. It definitely does not have the same “can’t put it down” qualities of the 3rd book though.
I’ve said it before … the 4th and 5th book act as a prologue to the rest of the series (that has yet been written or released) … at least that’s my perception of them
I know… i just like making you repeat yourself
I like to hear myself talk so we should hang out more often

Last night was pretty good. My girl was in awe at the ending. I think Daenarys is sooo hot (it’s awkward b/c she is what- 14 in the book at this point?) I’m really glad they took some liberties and just had the Tully father dead instead of having multiple episodes of listening to Catelyn Stark complain about her time with her father like in the book- that part bored me.

I anticipate the next episode will be very very awesome

yea in the book she’s about 14 or 15 … however she’s probably about 18 or 19 right now in the show … I think she started out 17 in Season 1

I did not see that ending coming last night. Brutal.

I had forgotten about it. Took me by surprise.

I gotta say that actor that plays Jamie I think did an amazing job reacting to that. It wasn’t immediate … it took a few clicks for it to sink in and from what I understand about something like that happening IRL, that’s how it is. Fantastic acting.

Thought the exact same.

Best fucking episode last night of the entire TV show. The ending was so on point and so good I had to watch it a couple of times.

Definitely the best ep of the season so far.

Had to see that ending coming with the excessive amount of insulting the Valyrian king was doing through the first several eps.

I’ve been reading the books so I knew it was coming I just thought they did an amazing job. The music was perfect, Daeny had the absolute perfect amount of ferocity; it was just executed fantastically.

My gf was watching me nerd out b/c I was so excited about it.

They didn’t really touch on this and it’s been changed from the book, but that dude wasn’t (or shouldn’t have been) Valerian … He’s supposed to be Astapori and speaking Ghiscari … However he could have been speaking Valerian since she obviously knew it … also he wasn’t a king, he was a slaver … they basically take these young boys from their mothers when they are very young and turn them, through many years of training and emotional torture, into eunic super-soldiers

dude, they did that shit perfectly … I’ve never thought of Daneyris to be that great of a leader or warrior until I saw that shit last night … I’m a true believer now (until Daario Naharis shows up … then I’m gonna dislike her again)

I thought the ending was great. An actual improvement from the book.

Very true. And I think that was the point in the book and in the show- how she has evolved from some submissive little girl into a dominating presence (I think she is smoking hot too). I mean, she literally went from a nomad with a couple Dothraki, an old knight, and an exiled knight and now has quite possibly the strongest army. I’m sure the North, Stannis, and Lannisters have MORE soldiers but due to the way the Unsullied have been broken, they are easily worth more man vs man I believe negating their lesser numbers.

They only briefly jump into Daario Naharis in the 3rd book with some of what you are talking about so I’m sure it gets more intense in book 5. I’m just reeeeeeaaaaaaaaallll slow through the 4th book even taking into account how you said it sets up the 5th.

Totally agree with the above posts. I could see what was about to happen near the end and I was just sitting there talking to the TV like “Yes! Do it! Fuck that would be perfect! Do it!” Ah she’s the best.

just to be clear … Book 4 and 5 are the same time period … essentially the same book/portion of the story broken up into two books geographically … Martin merges the two books at the end of Dance with Dragons (book 5) …

But yea, the Dario/Dany story is boring in book 5 until towards the end imo

Just finished the first book and have ordered the rest of them now. Thing is I am not sure if I want to read ahead of the show because the last 2 episodes were just awesome. The ending with the slave master was fantastic. I don’t think I have ever seen a show that has drawn me in as much as Game of Thrones. I think the first season of Lost is the only thing that has come close.

The ending of this weeks episode was pretty amazing. I had to watch it twice it was that good.

The beginning of show with jamie wearing his hand as a necklace was rough tho, i couldnt even imagine.

I haven’t read the books and I saw that ending a coming a mile away: but I still thought that ending was totally bad ass. Wow, great execution.

Yeah could see something like that coming, just didn’t see it being as good as that and Daenerys completely owned everyone and not just because she is amazingly hot!
