We’ve read the books, so maybe we’ll start peppering this thread with subliminal hints about the rest of the show.
Like the fact that it’s all Bran’s fevered dream.
I’ve read the books too …

Is it really Bran’s fevered dream?!? Isn’t that like the end of Dallas (I think it was that show) where it was really all in the imagination of a kid with autism?
That was St. Elsewhere…and I think that because there was some crossover with St. Elsewhere and Hill St. Blues or something then it makes like 3 or 4 other shows all part of that boy’s imagination.
Dallas was the one wher ethey killed Bobby in season 4 then at the start of season 6 they showed Pam see Bobby in the shower so the whole previous season was Pam’s dream.
So nice of her to even dream about JR and Sue Ellen and everyone else’s lives the whole time too.

I think we don’t need “character development” as much as some people think. I want Jack Reacher to stay the same. He’ll be walking into small towns, ordering a whole pot of coffee and getting into trouble and walking out of that town by the end for as long as Child writes them.
Though one of my favorites was Bad Luck and Trouble as you saw him with his old army buddies, and I’m on page 50 of The Affair right now (got it last night) and it’s good to see Reacher interacting with peers instead of slack-jawed sheriffs and asshole land-owners and scared wives of land-owners etc.

Things shouldn’t change too much…sort of like when a TV show has an unrequited romance between two characters for years and then to get ratings those two get together…then the show slowly dies.

Did you ever read Clive Cussler? Great stuff! But then the main character found out…well, I won’t spoil it for you…but I lost interest in his books after that.
I read a few Cussler books, I am not that much into Seaman (hahahahahaahahaha).

Sorry bad joke, its hard to get into books centered around nautical issues. Its been probably 5-6 years since I read one of his books. I know it was at the time they made the movie of one of his books, it just came off to Indiana Jones of the Sea to me.

Spoilers.

I wonder what implication Bronn being head of the city watch instead of Jacelyn Bywater will be.

And what was up with the ending of the last epp. i dont remember Jon following Craster making sacrifices or being caught. Seems like HBO is changing alot, hopefuly Game of Thrones wont go the way of Walking Dead by changing too much of the source material.
Spoiler:

Bronn will become an intriguing character so long as Tyrion can utilize him, at which point he could receive a sort of freedom from obligation thanks both his newfound security and prestige along with the uncertainty of the setting. Live by the sword though…

The ending is non canon, but I believe they are using it as an excuse to tell the viewer that Crastor deals with white walkers and to trump up the father son relationship between Jon and Mormont. In the books, Gilly does tell Jon (later) what Crastor does, and Jon confronts Mormont who dismisses his “near sighted” concerns.

Stannis does not fuck Melisandre.

No, but it is implied that there is something going on with them. Just like Renly is never openly gay in the books, but the fact that his marriage to the Tyrell girl was never consummated leaves one to believe that he is. They take things a step further for the TV audience for the non-viewpoint characters.

I believe Martin is on-board with all of the changes, so I’m not worried they’re going to fuck anything up.

The eunuch is way better than in the books.

Way, way better.

I dunno.

You have to live up to Tyrion or the little shit king, but I had no eunuch expectations.

He takes what I did not have and hits it out of the park.

Tyrion could only have disappointed, which he does not do.

I am pracically waiting for some character to be miscast so I can bitch about it but those bastards wont slip.

I thought Theon’s sister was rather plain from the way I pictured her in the books, but she did act the part rather well…as did Balon Greyjoy; I think they hit it out the park casting him

Actually all the cast has been really well done, Rob Stark and John Snow so far have been the weakest actors in my opinion.

Weak as in the show or weak in general?

Jon Snow is not supposed to be a strong character just yet, neither is Rob Stark.

I would not dismiss the idea that they are just keeping their powder dry.

You know why?

Cause they are bastards.

I meant acting stage presence not the character development, I am half way through book three. I had put them down for awhile and just started back reading.

Alright, but I hope you will not be terribly disappointed if they suddenly start to dominate the screen.

I am getting paranoid here.

I will have you know that there is at least one comic book playing in that universe, I believe it is called the “Hedge Knight”.

Lots and looooots of pictures.

Ha!!!
