Even if you got fat at one point and cut down now, you will eventually have to froce feed yourself again…

I’m sure you will find that out for yourself, though…

there will come a time where you will need to consistantly eat a higher amount of cals to gain muscle…

if your only eating 3000kcal of steak and rice…when you need 4000kcal, period…

Nothing is going to happen…trust me I know…

Your body requires a certain amount of energy to synthesize protein…so, you will need to give it that energy…

that doesn’t mean to eat everything you want…just eat the RIGHT amount…which is different for everyone…You should know by now what your genetics are capable of in terms of gaining, so it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out…

Maybe you already know this…regardlness, just don’t hold your progress back because you are scared to push things again…eventually, you will need to add weight to the scale…

Who are you addressing?
Dude, you ok? I mean, you have made decent progress…but I hope you don’t think you have reached any extreme yet.

You seem to be very defensive about anyone even commenting as if you could possibly make more progress than you have…as if that simply isn’t possible.
I’m just chilling man, life is good, my body is doing good, progress is good. Enjoying your responses to my posts.

I feel like eating when you are not hungry is a great way to add extra adipose onto your body…If you are not hungry why eat? When I am training my ass off, my body is craving for me to eat like a beast, so I eat, but I am not putting food into my mouth to force feed myself. Did that at one point…turned into a slob.

I only eat 3-4 solid meals a day…Big meals they are but that’s it and I don’t have any shakes.
Apparently, I don’t gain weight as easily as you.
are you still “dieting” austin? I was under the impression that you were still leaning up, not gaining weight.
Ehhh, I am just rolling with it, maintaining a bit, slowly bumping up cals.

LOL greg…

idk that is how i type on message forums…I can’t be bothered to use proper punctuation…

btw austin or anyone else…i think X means well…

I used to think he was being a dick(I’ve argued with him a couple times lol)…but, I think he legitimately is trying to help you guys…

like i said earlier, maybe you already know what your doing…just wanted to post that for anyone else who may not…

leaves before epic thread

Apparently, I don’t gain weight as easily as you. I have found it damn near impossible to gain fat unless I’m eating a bit on the dirty side (except for peanut butter. PB goes right to my love handles now).

Even force feeding on a clean diet only got me to 195, and couldn’t budge the scale from there.
Completely agree. I was stuck at 190 for a while, eating a lot, but eating only clean. It wasnt until I started binging on McDonalds twice a week for some calorie dense food that I was able to surpass that plateu. Once you pass it, you can eat a little cleaner and maintain the wieght.

EDIT: OP 6’2 160, straying from a super clean diet for a while wont all of the sudden make him fat. Agree with the need for some force feeding.

Nah it’s all good man. I agree with what you were saying.

Well Morning I’ll have about 4 eggs and some toast

Then about every hour or so i have snacks here and there like nuts, veggies, and fruit.

For lunch i’ll either have a few pieces of meat such as chicken or steak. I’ll also have a sandwich on the side and other little snacks to go with it.

and about an hour or 2 later i’ll have some snacks and i usually will eat dinner at about 7- 730 and it just depends what dinner is… i’ll have pasta or meat and side dishes with it. and then after working out i have a protein shake.
And to anyone jumping down my throat…

Do you call the above force feeding or even eating that much? 2 of my meals is all of this food.
No he is certainly not force feeding himself and that was my point. He is eating enough to stay the exact size he already is. His body probably regulates calories quite well. By that I mean when he eats a larger more calorie dense meal he is not hungery for a longer period of time. There was some research done on a gene they refer to as the “skinny gene” and people who had it would eat like that. People who did not have it would be ready to eat 3-4 hours later regardless of calories consumed in the previous meal.

He is going to have to eat outside of his comfort zone. As to something you stated earlier it will be easier if he is also training hard. I find the easiest day to consume a lot of calories is leg day. However, I assume if his diet is so haphazard then his training routine is probably on the same level.

in regards to the science behind that…

there is a mechanism in the body, nicknamed the “adipostat” which regulates hunger and metabolic rate by measuring short term energy fluctuations. The central purpose to this mechanism is to maintain set points.

That is the reason why hunger is not a great indicator of what you need to gain or lose weight…as the body is trying to reach its set point weight at all times by sending downstream signals to influence appetite and metabolic rate…

Very well said.

Hmm, class of 05. That makes sense.

I agree on having to force feed yourself.
I’ve gone from 130 to 191 at my heaviest so far (pictures of before and now in my log and the BOI prog thread), and I still rarely get hungry. If I relied upon feeling hungry, I would still be sub 150. Some weekend days when I’m more lax with my eating, I won’t eat until 3pm, and still won’t feel hungry, and only eat because I know I need to.

I’ve never gone off the deep end of bulking, but during my last mass phase I was putting down a half gallon of milk, four scoops of whey, six eggs, 2 bananas, 4 cups of rice, a large sweet potato, and a pound and a half of meat a day (.5 pork, .5 hamburger, .5 chicken breast).

Op, you just have to get your food tolerance up. If I don’t eat much for a while, the amount of food I can eat in one sitting drastically goes down. As you eat more and more, you’ll be able to increase your portion sizes. For now, eat as often as you can, and probably drink a lot of milk.
