52 fat free pounds without juice? No way!
he never said that.
guys on steroids dont even make that progress. To put on 52lbs of muscle without fat could turn a skinny short guy who doesnt lift, into the top natural competitive pro bodybuilder for his weight class.

Very true. Even if you gained 75 pounds (muscle and fat) and then cut you would not have 52 pounds of muscle left in one year.
Livefrom781 telling people that they should only expect 10lbs of muscle a year is really kind of ridiculous unless they are advanced. Limiting your expectations is a good way to limit your gains. You have admitted that your nutrition sucks, that could be why you can only gain 10lbs a year…

the sad thing is maybe 1 person in 100 out of lifters will even come close to putting on 10lbs of muscle in a year.
a natural bodybuilder trains at the gym im at an as a begginer he told me for my first year i should be able to put on 15-20 quality pounds of muscle, an it would slow down year by year, he himself said hes a happy man if he gains 3lbs of muscle a year as hes been working out over 10 years

yeah, i said my nutrition sucked then 2 days later i looked in the mirror and found stretchmarks on my triceps.
if you think for half a second youre going to be gaining more than 10lbs of MUSCLE a year, or especially if you think youre gonna get 1 lb for week a year then you obviously need to live a lot more and get a good dosage of reality.

Tell him to stop wasting his time and take up golf or sewing instead.

Wait, so you think it is impossible to gain more than 10lbs of muscle a year even for someone within the first 5 years of their training life?
What do you get out of placing those limits on yourself and others? If someone gains more than that, do you just ignore them?

10lbs of muscle every year for 5 years? yeah i dont think thats so plausible, naturally. i think you can gain a good amount your first year or two and then it dwindles off.
i dont place limits on myself. i just said im happy gaining 10lbs yearly. if you gain more, then congragulations. i hope i gain more than that too its just not as easy as people seem to think.
i cant believe im still arguing in a thread about people thinking theyre gonna gain 52 lbs a year, majority muscle.

If someone actually has the genetics to get bigger than average, it is VERY plausible. What you are writing just tells me you haven’t been around too many “gifted” people in your life time. If someone can build arms over 18" within the first 5 years, chances are they can do and have done just that.
From what I have been taught, you can only gain, naturally, a 1/4 to 1/2 pound of DRY muscle per week and that is if you do everything right.
You can gain 52 lbs of BODYWEIGHT in a year - no problem! Shit, you could do that in a few months if you wanted to! Lift and eat like a damn maniac. Don’t expect to not look like a fat whale. You will gain a great deal of muscle and will have a lot of leverage in your lifts too.

There is something called a Bell Curve. You may want to look into it.
I’ve gained about 45 pounds in a period of 5 months. But training for track 6 times a week for 2 hours with a shitload of volume, coupled with eating like a goldfish I guess I was a bit lighter then my body wanted. Oh, ofcourse I didn’t gain all muscle but fuck me, I still have(a minor trace of my former) abs.

You’ll overtrain that way. /sarcasm
Seriously, the body grows in spurts, not a steady 1/2lbs or 1lbs a week. I’ve gained 3-4 lbs in a week just out of the blue before, sometimes I sat for a few weeks at the same weight while training and increasing calories. It varies.

I have stated just that only to have several small people tell me this is impossible.
There is a clear problem with the genetically defective making up rules to justify why they aren’t making progress as if those who are making more must be doing something wrong or simply making it up.
Chances are, if you actually do believe no one can gain more than 10lbs of lean body mass a year, you will never be one of those people that makes others say, “Holy Shit” when you walk into the gym.
