So I’ve been reading this article by Berardi, and I’m thinking about incorporating some forms of cardio into my bulking in an attempt to maximise my gains. The thing I don’t understand though is where he talks about using as many different energy systems as possible. If my primary goal is muscle gains (anaerobic), is using the aerobic system in things like low intensity jogging or cycling going to be beneficial, so long as I eat to account for the calorie burn?

Also, which of the following do you think would best avoid the risks of overtraining?
(1) upper/lower weights split (4 sessions per week), 2 low intensity cardio days, 1 rest day.
(2) 3 x full body weights sessions, 2 x low intensity cardio days, 1 x high intensity cardio day, 1 x rest day.

Thanks!
