Walk/Warm-up
I’ve come to find out I prefer lifting outside more so than in AC. It takes SOOOO long to get warm. I can’t wait to get my OWN set up and not have to be around some tuuuuurrrrdddsss!!!

Realized after having a spotter for the first one, I really need to work on having a lift-off so’s I can work on staying tight under the weight. I RARELY (never) have a training partner and I usually just do a little shoulder jump thing to get the bar out. I know this is wrong, but I don’t like people, so I have never had a spotter. This is something I must work on and master. My tightness suffered on the first single because I didn’t focus enough. I popped my ass off the bench a little. UNACCEPTABLE! Second rep was a lot smoother and I didn’t pop my ass up. I have a problem with driving my feet DOWN instead of THROUGH the floor and AWAY from me. I did a good job of that the second one and it felt a hell of a lot mo’bettah!

Ok, first off, I need to work on my bench set up. I felt tired today, and it showed. Nothing to worry about. I got my singles and I’m ready to squat tomorrow!
I had two BRO’Z benching next to me, doing the two-man, sternum trampoline, and just being super bro like. Not really an issue, as I generally just scowl at everyone while metal fills my ears with sweet, sweet hate and bad intent. Anywho, they finish benching and leave 45’s on the bar when the go to do cable flyes (DEF for the guys, lol).
Well, I give them a minute or two to see if they are doing some sort of alternating sets or whatever. NOPE! They just left them there. So, I make eye contact with the “smaller” one of the two; decked out in a white, semi see through sleeveless, skin tight Under Armor shirt and ask him nicely (part of my plan to rip his ass, as is my right in the military!) if he was done. He replied, something to the effect of, “yeah, bro”. Keep in mind my headphones are still on, I was apparently yelling as described to me later by one of my subordinates. So I raised my voice to, maybe an 8 on the 10 scale and said, “Well then rack your SHIT, BRO”. With a nice emphasis on the BRO. Anywho, he commenced to racking his plates while the bigger one was doing his flyes.
Plates were racked and the day was saved. THEN, to my shagrin, the bigger one, who I assume was now defending his little bromosexual friend, embarked on a journey over to the bar which was recently cleared. Grabbed a 10 plate and placed it ever so gently on the bar while giving me a death stare. At this point, I had imagined possibly putting him on his face, but I didn’t want him to talk back because I probably would have bitch slapped him and that would not be good for my career. SOOOOOOO, I just decided to take the high road and walk past them and fart a few (4) times. I can barely stand my farts, so I KNOW these kids were not happy with the aroma. It isn’t pleasant. I just can’t stand people leaving their weights out. If you are strong enough to lift it (they weren’t) then you need to be strong enough to put it away. I especially hate this of guys that are decently strong. It’s annoying to see them being so lazy and still not caring.
If I was staying here any longer, I probably would have gotten their names and just had their NCO smoke them later, but I am leaving VERY soon and don’t really care at the moment. I know, “Cool story, bro!” And all that but I had a story to tell and I told it. If you don’t like it, EAT IT!
Other than that, energy was kinda low, but I pushed through and I have one more big training session before the meet then it’s deload -_- and peak time. Ready to get home and start being a normal person again. Deployments are SUPER lame.
I also am sad a few of the PW are leaving/have left. I enjoy their logs and wish all of them well. No FB for me, so I will just have to send my CHI out in to the world and hope they get some good vibes.

Observation: ran out of Flameout, FA3, and Circumin four days ago. My shit hurts. Like, all my shit. My right shoulder, inner elbows and knee are all noticeably sore. Also haven’t taken Aleve in two days. Getting more Aleve now.

Cool to hear you are coming back stateside too. What rank are you in the airforce? Pretty funny about the dudes in the gym–the fart bombs are about the best thing you can do short of punching someone in the face, and is the only form of passive aggressiveness that I support.

I’m an E4 (Senior Airman) at the moment. I had an unfortunate (see: stupid) occurence which led to me being busted down from E5 (Staff Sgt) a while back and will be putting it back on in the next year or so. You live and you learn, I guess.

Absolutely DESTROYED my singles today. I started wrapping in a new way last squat day and it is making a huge difference. I used to start at the top, wrap once around, do two X’s accross the knee and then wrap around. Now I basically just reversed everything. Start at the bottom, wrap around the knee, then two X’s and tuck. Just like the Metal video I posted earlier in my log. The 475 set actually was somewhat difficult to hit bottom on; I had to dip (a-la Mark Bell) but I definitely got my crease below my knee. I wish I had a crew to film me, but using my phone to record AND wrap myself and all that is just too much to focus on all at once. I’ll work on trying to get my guys back home to start taping our sessions more, but until then, I’m not gonna mess with taping anything unless someone wants to see something in particular.
Made another “friend” today! lol Right before my last set, some guy comes over to me, probably to ask if I want a spot, while I’m wrapping my knees. I have my headphones on, and I’m listening to some Woe, Is Me. Anywho, I just shake my head in his direction and continue to wrap my left knee without looking up. He moves over and gets in my face and I just shoo (sp?) him away and say I don’t wanna talk. Any way, he watches from literally six feet to the left of me as I proceed to demolish my last single. I did go up to him after my eyes got uncrossed and I could see colors again and explained I didn’t want to be an asshole, I just was focused on what I was doing.
He seemed to understand, but asked if I was a crossfitter. I’m not sure how many crossfitters do singles with a belt and knee wraps (below parallel, at that! lol), but he was surely mistaken. I DEFINITELY don’t look like a crossfitter. Oddly enough, two days ago there was a guy in the gym doing crossfit who was decked out in skin tight under armor (shirt AND compression shorts w/nothing over them) who was absolutely ridiculous. He looked like a retarded George St. Pierre. lol
Man, I hate the military culture in the gyms. So much bafoonery amongst the bros! Anyway, this was my last HEAVY day. Going to hit my deload in the week I have left and then get home and work my meet prep cycle as well as I can with the time I have left.

More horizontal heavy pulling. As VTballa stated in his log, I’ve been doing WAAAYYYYY too many chins. I think I need more horizontal pulling to get my shoulder balance worked out.
I’m going to add in paused squats. I see really strong guys doing it all the time, so that means I need to give it a try and see how my body likes them.
I’m getting an SSB, so I’ll definitely add in SSB GM’s and squats. <---- PAUSED SSB SQUATS??? Suspended GM’? I think so!
Also getting some loadable farmers handles to go with my prowler and other things. I’ll be doing a 5/3/1 full-body conditioning template. Probably with morning conditioning and PM lifting. May have to switch these two around due to work. I’ll see which shift I get assigned to when I get back.
Going to TRY, I say again, TRYYYYY to keep my diet in check. I’m naturally a fat kid and love to eat ice cream and slurpees!! lol I think I’ll be ok as long as I stick to cooking most of my meals and limiting my exposure to shit food.
