It’s too late for you. Your way too old now, by your own standards.
Glad to see you don’t really have anything to offer here but insults,

Move along now. That shit is played out.

Also gotta lol @ the assumption that staying lean = slow gaining

Slow gaining scale weight maybe…uh
Uh, no, someone actually had a question about slow gaining and not being in a hurry. I am addressing that concept. Not sure what would be funny about that.

Also gotta lol @using lee priest as an example when most of today’s pro stay relatively lean and did so even WHEN turning pro

No need to go with that “chances are these guys got to their soze going soft and now they stay lean” cause that is NOT the case.
What today’s pros’ do probably shouldn’t be the main focus here.

Glad to see all of this is so funny to you tho.

It doesn’t take much to make you laugh apparently…and actually contributing without that attitude seems to be unlikely.

Your definition of contributing is agreeing with you my man…

I fail to see why what Priest did counts but not the guys from today but ok

How can you be so certain of this?

But ur right I should probably just focus on helping ppl that want to look like bodybuilders and not just big guys

He cant dude

Just as I cant say staying lean would be the best bet

The problem.is when someone wont aknowledge that both methods MIGHT work just as well

I am not sure I even brought Lee priest up initially, but if he was mentioned, it is because he did bulk up.

What they ALL did counts.

How can I be certain that if I hadn’t made a conscious effort to constantly push my weight up and my strength that I would have made less progress over the years?

Common sense, my man.

Are you thinking I would have reached this size PASSIVELY? If you want to believe that, fine. I don’t.

My definition of contributing is not warping the message other experienced lifters have.

You sound very elitist, cocky, and NOT humble…yet I don’t see anyone pointing this out for pages.

Just curious, why do you do this? It comes off as whiny.

That right there is the major point that I think is most misunderstood.

No one has that much time. Seriously.

I mean, has there ever been a guy who “slow gained” his way to a max muscle gain of over 80lbs?
Let’s take the “80 lbs” muscle gain out because that’s a whole other topic there, but there are a number of people ON THESE VERY FORUMS that have gained a significant amount of muscle and are very strong that stayed lean throughout the process (bigger, stronger …an lean imagine that) and did not extreme bulk. Your way worked for you, why act like that’s the only way?

Yes, some people do have that much time and are capable. Seriously.
Like? Many of the people here, who have posted pictures bulked up. Later, they say if they could go back they would gain slowly to keep fat gain at a minimum. Way, Stu, Ebomb, Bug, Austin… to name a few. That does not change the fact that they bulked up. Would having gained slower allowed them to make that progress? Would it have been better? I do not know.

Hey, I have seen 40 page threads here with grown men crying that I am not humble enough.

It just seems very strange to me that a poster could be THIS cocky, yet no one has a problem with it…but if I dare act like I look good, then the board erupts with nonsense.

Just pointing out that hypocrisy for the next time it comes up.

You sure got your guards up. That’s not where I was going at all.

But how can you be certain that you “stayed as lean as I needed to in order to grow the fastest possible rate”? (Emphasis mine)

Additionally, some of the better known coaches/lifters like Wendler and Tate (CT? D.John?) who were bigger and now leaner now take the line that they would have stayed leaner if they could do it all over again. It’s one thing to take that line, but the fact remains they were much bigger at some point.

*I am not speaking for those people, just expressing my interpretation of things I’ve seen written by them at some point

didn’t kingbeef count his macros and just up calories by a few hundred when he wanted to gain?
samoth2 wrote:

Because I lived my life and accomplished all my goals…ie, got big, look like I want to right now, graduated, got more than one degree, things like that.

If I hadn’t “stayed as lean as I needed to in order to grow the fastest possible rate” I wouldn’t look like this now.

That statement means I focused on MUSCLE GAINS and didn’t let fat get out of control. Did I ever gain more fat than even I wanted? Hell yes. But the END RESULT is what counts here.

No one gives a shit if you stayed really lean and never got extremely muscular.

My main focus was NOT on body fat. It was on muscle gains.
Professor X wrote:

You mean hypocrisy like playing the role of arm-chair scientist when anyone disagrees with you but clinging to personal anecdotes, n=1, appeal to authority fallacy etc every other time? Yea, can’t think of anyone who does anything like that…

Agreed. I actually DID what the big guys DID. Not what they say they “should” have done.

By doing that, surprise, I got big too.
