Also major LOL @ throwing in the “someone in contest condition will have a bad looking face sometimes” or whatever the crap that silly argument was
SORRY EVERYONE but girls tend to prefer a straight jawline to moonfaces which means that your face will most likely look better if we can see some of its bone/jaw structure aka 8-10% will look better than 20-25%
And if its not the case for you well my bad sorry you have a crappy bone structure maybe ur not just cut out to be good looking
I’m sorry Bricks comment hurt your feelings, but generally people aren’t saying that. So why act like they are?
LOL. It doesn’t have anything to do with being “hurt”. I was showing that people ARE acting like that whether you claim you can see it or not.
Not the point. You made s statement that implied simply being leaner always makes you look better. This is not always true and it isn’t always just the face that is the concern.
Yes, someone might just look more impressive carrying more body fat to the eye other people.
Its hard to tell waht steely looks like, consider his pic was in a t shirt and shorts, whereas we’ve seen stu pretty much naked from every angle.

I have no desire to thrust myself into the TN shitstorm and troll-o-rama that would be caused by me posting anything more than me at the gym in a tank top. It would serve no purpose whatsoever because I’m not looking for that kind of validation. I don’t mind posting the pics I post just as my normal progress pics just to keep me honest and maybe hold me to a little accountability in my posts
Personally, I have a little more respect for people who post pics. Put up or shut up and all that.
BTW, your progress, Marzouk, is pretty amazing-- kudos. I respect ;)
ryan, in steely’s defense I think he’s pretty humble and hasn’t boasted that he’s better or worse than anyone else here. I still stand by the fact that he needs to post more food porn and lifting videos

To be clear, I don’t lift to impress girls.
My wife saw me updating my progress pics. I have my starting point pic at 170 (14.24" arms) after losing 70 or so pounds.
Her words were “you look so small and weak”. My hot wife prefers big, strong men. And to be honest, I really don’t care what she thinks, either
Oh and just to add to everything else this crappy “look good in shirt vs look good naked” crap needs to stop
Learn to dress according to how lean/not lean you are for fuck sake
If you want to display your hot body when your lean but are wearing a shirt wear something that will actually display it. AKA be tight around the waist and pretty much all ur body actually.
This fear that soft ppl got that they wont look as impressive with a shirt on if they lose they fat is amusing.
This just in : I can look just as big/impressive 3days pre contest as I can in total offseason mode

Well im not really adressing your posts tbh
But the argument im seeing is “what looks better/more impressive” and “random ppl not lifting” were used as the “judges”
So if these guys are not talking about being impressive to girls than they wanna impress the boys? idk?..
Cant really understand why there is an argument going on here. Steely and others have expressed a desire to look big as a barn door and care less about fat than Zraw and others who prefer a more defined musculature where fat is stripped to reveal detail. I am impressed by both to be honest and dont see why people are out to say who the majority of the worlds population would think more impressive.
If this was politics where a persons views impacted on the general population at large I could understand wanting to change the mind of others but in reality its all just about what each individual has a preference for their own bodies and whats the point of even trying to alter that view?

Meh, this may be true for someone who works in a gym or can wear a polo to work. For those of us who wear suits all day, honestly it’s hard to look terribly different one way or the other, especially if you mean for the average person to notice.
You are weirdly beating up straw men in general. Steely, to use as an example, does not have a ‘moonface’ as per your earlier post.
I think Steely is spot on in his assessment of average people. Heck, I remember when I first started lifting and saw someone who was a bodybuilder at my gym flex his thigh and thinking it was the most freakish physical thing I had ever seen. And not in a good way. Nothing against zraw, but most girls I know would not think that being that large and lean is attractive for a variety of reasons. That’s not to say that there aren’t girls out there who would, but it’s just that when you say ‘looks better,’ that’s a value judgment that’s entirely subjective, with different people having different perspectives on it.
That said, you should also realize that you have a major interest in believing yourself to be correct, considering the amount of sacrifices you’ve made to being very big and very lean.
175 is 10 lb heavier than the average woman, for fucks sake. Who cares how lean you are, how could you possibly prefer that over being a 300 lb Viking?
Ever heard the expression, “throw your weight around?”
Acquire mass and occupy some space.
All of this spoken as someone who is DEFINITELY not huge. So at least I’m not trying to justify my being fat.

This “fatter softer = bigger = more impressive” thing is total bs
How can it be when many right here said they would rather look like that?
It surprises you that some might see Kennely as more impressive?

If you wanna go to extreme compare a fat sumo wrestler to someone in contest condition maybe?
If not well use a fucking real life lean number aka 8-10%
Oh my god sorry for the # of times ive heard the damn quote “ppl look bigger when they are leaner”
The fact is that for THE SAME PERSON that SAME PERSON will look more impressive at ~10% than at around ~20%
Acting like you cant be big and lean is very very sad
? This isn’t about the same person…because the same person has an entire life time of lifting to go through where they will be fatter and leaner over the course of it.
Bottom line, most people in the general public are more impressed by muscular size than how ripped someone is…and will see the bigger guy as more “impressive”.

What is with the “moon faces” comment? Most girls see someone in contest shape and say, “EWWWW!” so I am not sure why you would lift for that reason alone.
