'Full House' ???

How much do you know about fighting?

Have you ever been in a gym where there are many full housers?

And to think that EVERY badass full houser knows how to defend himself because he’s scary looking…
As far as this part, I mean if you know a lot about fighting wouldn’t you agree that weight classes exist for a reason? Strength I’ve been told is a very minor factor compared to other things (which I find unfortunate lol). But bodyweight as I understand it is quite significant.

LOL. It doesn’t have anything to do with being “hurt”. I was showing that people ARE acting like that whether you claim you can see it or not.

Not the point. You made s statement that implied simply being leaner always makes you look better. This is not always true and it isn’t always just the face that is the concern.

Yes, someone might just look more impressive carrying more body fat to the eye other people.
I have no issued with SteelyD, not have I or would I call him fat. I just know I personally don’t have that as an end goal. Why drop his name??
Because you dropped someone else’s. I returned the favor.

Simply put, many people would think someone like Steely D is more impressive than even Stu if they saw him in the gym.

How is that for name dropping?
many people would think steely is a big guy who lifts weights, but to say he is more impressive than a top natty pro. what kind of drugs are you fucking on?
im gonna bump this post, no disrespect to steely. but i cannot believe x just said that more people would find you impressive than stu (a competitive natty pro!)
Some of saw your post. I did. We know you’re not showing disrespect because Steely D is impressive. I THINK you’re expressing your surprise because like me, you believe, that most people, men and women, find a symmetrical, heavily muscled, lean body to be the male physical ideal, the image shown in nearly every display of the ideal male physical form. But who knows, maybe the people in X’s circle do find the 20 to 30% full house look the ideal.

I’ve seen Stu compete. He was very impressive.
i agree if steely cut he would look rather beastly. but i believe i could show any gym rat, serious bodybuilder or average person a picture of both steely and stu IN THERE CURRENT states. 95% of them would be more impressed by stu’s physique, hands down.

Well, it’s a fucking good thing that SteelyD doesn’t spend every dying moment worrying whether he’s more impressive than a pro bodybuilder for gym rats, serious bodybuilders, or average people, or anyone for that matter.

I agree, that as a specimen of the human body, Stu is amazing, and more shredded and impressive than I could hope to be. I agree that you’re probably right about gym rats and bodybuilders.

But ‘average’ people… First let me say I don’t think I’m “impressive” by any means and I’ve already said I could easily stand to drop weight, nor do I really give a rats ass what anyone really thinks of my physique other than specific people who I’ve directly asked advice from. I just go to the gym and lift heavy shit and maybe try to look like it.

Having said that, ‘average people’, in my experience are mostly disgusted by shredded bodybuilders. “Icky veins” and all that. I’m not saying I agree, but that conversation has come up many many times over the years.

Big is big. Someone who takes up a lot of space takes up a lot of space. Ever stand next to pro football players? Impressive human beings and no one cares if you can see their abs.

If PX walks into a room and a 180 really lean (maybe contest condition) walks into a room, my money goes on the people pointing at PX going “whoa shit”. “Average people” see things at a much coarser scale than serious weightlifters- they don’t see triceps and biceps and brachiordalis(whatever), they see “Big Arms”. They don’t see anterior and medial deltoids, they see “Holy shit, those shoulders”. They don’t see latissimus dorsi, they see “look at the back on that dude”. They don’t see “serratus” they see “eewwww, icky veins”.

And Ryan, I recall you being like teens or early 20’s or something? Your generation is the one that thinks effeminate vampires are hot, so maybe your perspective skewed a little

This thread is starting to read a lot like “What is better, yellow or blue?”

“Well, I think if you ask a bunch of people 82% would say blue”

“Well, I like yellow”

“Yellow can cause cancer, but blue has antioxidents”

I have no desire to thrust myself into the TN shitstorm and troll-o-rama that would be caused by me posting anything more than me at the gym in a tank top. It would serve no purpose whatsoever because I’m not looking for that kind of validation. I don’t mind posting the pics I post just as my normal progress pics just to keep me honest and maybe hold me to a little accountability in my posts

Personally, I have a little more respect for people who post pics. Put up or shut up and all that.

I would be quite impressed at ANYONE who was 220 @ 10-12% on 5-8". That’s fucking HUGE.

Boy, that doesn’t sound creepy at all -lol

And for the record, as much as I do appreciate any kind words, there’s no way I was 10% when I hit 220 lbs. I’m sure that I’ve pointed this out before, but the few WNBF Pros I know who compete at over 200 are much taller and with larger frames than I’ve got.

I may carry a lot of size for 5’8, with smaller joints, but Steely’s a very large individual. Both visuals are bound to get some stares.

I think you are projecting your opinion onto the rest of the planet.

This shouldn’t be a contest between those two posters anyway…but I am positive that sheer size is more impressive to most of the general population.

There is also a difference between what will get a “holy shit” response and someone who is just aesthetic.

I would assume “holy shit” means someone is more “impressed”…even if they might think someone smaller is more “aesthetic”.

I guess I will project mine. 18" arms on someone sub 10% look more impressive than 18" arms on somone 15-20%+. The former gets more of a “holy shit” from me than the latter.

Why act like you can’t be lean, aesthetic, and big? I’m not one to set limits on people…

Yeah, the difference is, I am using real people…and not made up numbers.

My arms are bigger than 18"…so from what I ahve experienced, a smoother guy with 20" arms will come across as way more “impressive” to the general public than the smaller guy.

Like Steely wrote, the average person has no clue about bodybuilding. They don’t know what a triceps is or how it should look. They just know “really big and muscular” “not really big and muscular” “really lean” and things like that in general terms.

Uh, yeah, we agree that someone who is really big and lean is even more impressive.

The reality is, most of those guys who get there looked like Steely for a while…and they all knew it wasn’t an end goal.
Professor X wrote:

As if there aren’t people that have 18" arms at sub 10%? I could have dropped names of real people, but I did not want to distract you again.

A ripped to shreds 18" arm will come across to the public as bigger and more muscular than someone with a smooth 20" imo.

Who cares what the average person that has zero interest in bodybuilding or anything similar thinks?

This “fatter softer = bigger = more impressive” thing is total bs

If you wanna go to extreme compare a fat sumo wrestler to someone in contest condition maybe?

If not well use a fucking real life lean number aka 8-10%

Oh my god sorry for the # of times ive heard the damn quote “ppl look bigger when they are leaner”

The fact is that for THE SAME PERSON that SAME PERSON will look more impressive at ~10% than at around ~20%

Acting like you cant be big and lean is very very sad
