So, after about 50 threads with an average of 10 pages each thread, surely we’ve all come to a conclusion on this hotly debated topic?

Oh, we haven’t? Shit.

I have an idea! Let’s keep debating!

I love debating! Let’s debate, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” or “Tits or Ass”? That should keep us here forever![/quote]

I don’t understand why that first one is such a conundrum… As dictated by evolution, the egg came first.

Also, as dictated by anthropology, the ass came first.

In the beginning…there was the squat…

A more fruitful line of exploration would be “Tits,or GTFO.”

I dunno. Do you really think its worth it? I’ve tried to debate this kind of thing before, and it hardly ever pans out.

I think we should just let the uninformed wander through the abyss of misleading training information to figure things out for themselves.

Jesus, then it would take them like 12 years to bench 2 plates, and struggle with 3 from the floor, and think super over complicated phases and routines will give him the massive 250 bench he has been trying oh so hard for the last 10 years to get…

Pfff… so?

That’s how the old-time strongmen did it. They didn’t debate about shit, they just did it. Some got it right, some got it wrong, but they didn’t discuss it.

Isn’t it about time that someone post pictures of kittens?

Nah, I got it. I was just trying to turn the thread in to a debate about whether or not we should debate further about it.

Which I still think we shouldn’t, because that’s not how they did it in the old days. As a matter of fact, lifting weights back then was still considered ‘building fake muscle’ wasn’t it?

Yeah, i got like, a good amount of fake muscle now a days… Although I lost ten pounds being sick and feel so small. It’s embarrassing.

When I started lifting for the first time, my father ripped into me, saying that I should be doing real work with him instead of wasting my time with weight training. Something was said about the difference between “real muscle” and “fake muscle”. Being out of shape and not particularly strong, he missed the irony in his advice.

Good times…good times.

Oh, I can relate sooo much to that LOL.

“Why don’t you do some REAL work - no need to lift weights when you’re tossing hay bales about on a Monday morning…”

Then I stare at his massive stomach and flat chest/small arms and legs etc etc etc<<<<<
