Fruit Making Me Feel Fat

not most of the time. Only after a workout I have an apple and just whey protein.

The rest of my diet is pretty standard, tuna, oatmeal, chicken, brown rice, vegetables make up most of my meals. Try to have 6 meals a day, but since I can’t really afford MRPs for the time being I switched to fruit and whey.

Well, whey is protein, so it sounds like you are having your fruit w/ protein. Or am I not understanding what you’ve written?

Regardless, I recommend that you combine you whey with a protein source for a protein/carb meal. You don’t want to miss an opportunity for an additional protein feeding.

Let me see if I understand this. Because you can’t afford MRP, you switched to FRUIT and whey??? What does MRP stand for?

TNT

Buying just Whey Protein in Bulk is much cheaper than buying a box of MRP’s. MRP’s such as Cytoplex or Myoplex has carbs, protein, vitamins and all that other shit that makes it more expensive. Buying just Whey is cheaper by like half. At least at GNC it is.

You know I’m looking at the cost of Grow!, and that shit is cheap…hmmmm. I should just order some Grow!. It costs the same as my Designer Whey, with more goodies.

Is this site the only place that sells Biotest Products. Does GNC or Vitamin World sell them?

There was an article on fructose digestion on T-Nation a long time ago…it has a wierd pathway which makes it digest slower. For instance take a look a the GI’s on most fruits…some are in the 30s and 40 (index = 100 = white bread), and the highest ones are in the 60’s I believe. That’s still lower than brown rice and oatmeal.

The fiber in fruits also works to slow the digestion of fruit down.
Also the more water-heavy the fruit; the more it satiates your appetite (or so I’ve heard).

There are actually serveral really informative articles here on T-Nation about “fructose digestion” - In relation to fruit and fat… here’s a pretty good one:

Personally, I think at the end of the day what mom told me still tries true: “Everything in moderation”.

Fruit wise, I add some to my morning MRP (Half a banana, a few berries, etc), and may or may not have a serving more (apple/pear/etc.) through the rest of the day.

Personally, I’m not trying to bulk up and try to stay lean at 115lbs and 11% body fat standing 5’5".
With that I’d have to agree with the fellas that whilst it’s important WHAT you eat… portion and HOW MUCH of something you eat is also extremely key. So whilst fruits are good for you, and you shouldn’t cut them out completely - you might want to take a look at your overall caloric intake vs. activity (intensity) level and adjust accordigly…

Cheers, and happy munching!

You can get a few of their products elsewhere, but this site is the best place to buy them. I haven’t seen lower prices elsewhere, and when you buy from here, you help support this site and all the outstanding information it provides.

Definitely check out Grow!. It really does taste as good as they say, and the quality is without peer.
