hmm. I have toyed around with the hack squat machine at the gym. I just don’t have any motivation to train my legs all that much. I love training everything else, but I don’t ever really feel motivated to train my legs. I always wear pants.
A well done, worthwhile, balls out set of any major leg excersize is, to me, about as much fun as being dragged by a mule naked through a thick patch of prickly pear… in the mojave desert… at 2 pm in July. I do it though, because the results are worth it, period. There is a sort of mental satisfaction having another leg workout behind you. Working legs hurts… alot if done right. I’m not particularly fond of pain and would much rather be able to grow a meaty lower body playing HL2 on my computer, but ain’t happnin.

UGH, FINALLY someone said it. Frankly, i believe this enthusiasm for training legs to be some sort of self-delusional practice in order to convince oneself to train them. I do it myself once in a while, but let’s all be honest, training legs is brutal. No other bodypart gives you trouble breathing and a heart beating like a racehorse.
For legs at this period i’ve chosen front squats mostly, but often add a few sets of back squats as well. I also perform static lunges and Romanian deads. All on the same day, except RDL’s which i do on back day, always leaving two days between legs and back.
Front squats are def not easier not harder than back squats. Both are tough as hell, albeit in different ways. One of the difficulties with front squats is the pain on the shoulders. Back squats on the other hand need attention on the lower back.
