nkeago: I cannot comment about your “atmosphere” explanation, but during landing, Aromstrong is quoted as saying: “The exhaust dust was kicked up by the engine and this caused some concern in that it degraded our ability to determine not only our altitude and altitude-grade in the final phases, but also, and probably more importantly, our translational velocities over the ground.” In Armstrongs own words, enough dust was being disturbed to create a hazard on landing, BUT WHERE IS THE DUST!? Any picture of the Lunar Module on the moon is completely dust-free. Not to mention that the moon’s surface UNDER the LM is undisturbed with not even a hint of a blast crater. There are other things in many of the pictures that do not fit…
