Actually, many if not most residents of the former USSR DO think that the American moon landing was faked. Do you think that if a bunch of Soviets started yelling that the moon landing was faked that we would have heard about it in the USA in the late 60’s? Many Russian scientists looked at the waving flag and, whether motivated by science or politics, announced that the moon landing was a fraud. Another interesting point – recently, in Russia and the former USSR, a former Soviet space scientist stated that the first animal shot into space WASN’T a little dog, but was a pig. This guy stated that the whole reason the USSR stated that a dog was sent into space was that the world community would mock the sending of a pig. I don’t know what animal was or wasn’t send into space, of course, but if this former soviet scientist’s statements are correct, we cannot trust anything presented in our history or in our government’s official statements as ‘fact.’ Of course, I should also state something else – many of the statements used by the people who state that the American moon landing was a hollywood fake can be easily discounted by recalling the fact that the moon has no atmosphere – perspective is entirely changed when there’s no atmospheric distortion, and the force of the moon probe’s propulsion (accounting for the lack of the crater), among other arguments, fall short when lack of atmosphere is taken into account.
For example – around 1988, I was driving towards Ayer’s Rock in Australia. As an aside, I should mention that central Austrailia is one of the most UN-polluted places in the world…NO smog that most Americans and Europeans take for granted when judging distance…at the very beginning of the day, I saw the rock, and it was so HUGE and clear I assumed that I would arrive there within an hour or two. By the end of the driving day, I had STILL not arrived at the rock, and it was not that much bigger in terms of perspective than when I started my drive! In other words, it’s amazing how different things look when you don’t have your usual standards by which to judge perspective.
Of course, all my experiences and opinions don’t mean that the moon landing WASN’T faked, I’m just offering other suggestions.
