Hey guys…
Im new to the board, and I need some help.
I can seem to get my diet right. Alot of factors come into play, but its mostly because I dont always the money to buy the stuff I need and I would like to drop my bodyfat from 13.5 to close 9% by january. I am sprinter so I dont want to lose all the muscle I have. I gain weight pretty quickly so anything fatting goes straight to my stomach and causes me to hold a ton of water, which makes me feel weird when I run.
I want to finally get this right and I am tired of going around in circles. I also have supplements such as creatine,l glutamine powder and aminos but I really want to maximize what I have them for… So if anyone can help, please let me know what to do.I will do anything.Thanx.

Eh, its not the “fat” that makes you hold water bud, its the carbs.
I believe John Berrardi just published a new article on “getting shredded” take a look in the recent articles section. Or you could always try Chris Shugart’s Velociy Diet. There are more than enough articles on the site that will tell you what you need to do to get ripped. If you’re experienced you’ll already know but the confirmation from the articles will help. Eat clean, lift heavy, your body fat will drop. Best of luck.

Both of the above are great EXTREME diet but not one for someone looking to keep or better their performance.
Id get a hold on your diet. take a look at things like T-Dawg, Massive eating I and II and the Massive eating Reloaded I and II. start thin king more about nutrition timing how it effects you.
Also figure out where you perform best it may nto be at 9% it may be 12%. Just lighter doesnt make you faster.
Ok Guys.I have a question.I dont have a lot of money but for my 16 week cutting diet there are a few things I can afford. So Im going to list the items I can afford on my budget and you can tell me if they will help me and tell if there is anything else I can add. Here it goes:
A whole rotissirie(i spelled that wrong),from sams club.
Eggs
Protein Powder
Skim Milk
Natural Peanut Butter.
This is a start so if this is wrong please correct me.Just trying to do the best I can with the money I have avaliable.
Easiest way to drop bodyfat that I know of is to go low carb as much as possible. Eat meat w/healthy fats as much as possible, vegetables, and only carb up around your workouts. Have a few carbs before you workout, then take in carbs/protein during and in the period 2 hours after your workout. It is fairly simple to do. The biggest thing is getting used to eating meat and vegetables all the time. Since you have 16 weeks, I’d throw in 1 day a week where you can eat whatever you want, just to keep your sanity.
You should be able to lose a pound or two a week with that diet, just make sure you’re eating enough to keep the muscle mass and not lose too fast.
i am trying the anabolic diet right now. its only been 1 week but ive been eating all the fat and protein i could think of. im never starving and im never tired unlike my friends who get mid day crashes from carbs. they all keep saying we can wait to say 'i told ya it wouldnt work." i was on the V-Diet before i switched over so its not too tough. I have NOT gained 1 lb. of fat. my weight is the same. in about another week i should be accustomed to the diet and become a fat burner. the diet switches your fuel from using carbs as energy to fat. makes sense right, since fat has 9 calories per gram and carbs only have 4. the diet is very muscle sparring and i am getting stronger. it also boosts testosterone and growth hormone. read the “my experience on the anabolic diet” thread. give it a shot. by the way, this diet was created not for the average joe or the fat housewive. it was created for people who are athletes, bodybuilders and powerlifters. there are people from mma to bodybuilding to golfers to bikers using this diet with great results.
gain lean muscle, lose unwanted fat, gain strength= anabolic diet.
As a sprinter you want your BF at around 9%, that is a good goal. But you can’t eat protein food/supplements during workout b/c you will throw up causing you to lose all nutrition. Eat some carbs and protein within 30 min of workout and then eat protein and calcuim, (milk, vitamen) these will help you recover within 30 min of workout. Otherwise your body starts to eat away at your muscle, raising your BF and decreasing your muscle mass, causing you to lose weight, speed and explosion.
As a sprinter I would be more concerned about performance than bodyfat. There’s a thread about this on Elitetrack and I believe the consensus was that while the high single-digits are a good place to be, it shouldn’t be a major concern and should just sort of happen naturally.
Hey guys I have a question.
Is it ok to change my calorie intake to adjust to my training days. I run 5 days a week and lift five day days a week(the fifth day is ab day. On the days I run and lift, should my calorie intake should be higher right? And on the days I am not working out? What should it be?
Also, I have never been good at taking in protein but I am going to try to shot for 170-200 grams of protein a day.
I am at 174 pounds at 13.5 percent body fat, and for the days I run and lift I am taking in close to 2100 calories a day. Thank you.
And I didnt know if this is a factor, but in my family, most of the people are obese. I have always been a little heavy except for my junior year of high school (170 without weights)I have been close to 162 at 11% body fat. In the summer of 2004 I was 218 pounds at 5’10(a year or many problems). So I gain weight easily, and I gain muscle fairly quickly.I dont know if this help. Sorry If I have alot of questions.
Trojanman, you said you went straight to the AD after the v-diet.
How many claories did you consume while on the v-diet,and how many do you consume on the AD?
