Friedrich is Beyond 35... Really Beyond

Nine hours in the car yesterday. I put in an hour plus of walking today around the Moscow (Idaho) farmer’s market, plus a hill or two around town. I am sure we will get more walking in. Lots of smoke from western forest fires.

Have a good weekend.

We love Moscow. Our daughter went to WSU, so we have been there numerous times. We stay there for football games, because it’s cheaper than Pullman.

Small college football. I have only been to a couple of games at the Kibbie Dome, but they are fun.

Edit: More walking today. No sun breaking through the smoke. Regardless, I had good stamina. We hilled it too. Tomorrow will be a dumbbell workout and HIIT ride on my daughter’s exercycle. Then Wednesday the drive home. Speaking of smoke, a big fire has started near Lewiston and Clarkston, there is ash falling. In doors time.

No HIIT today, but I spent almost four hours wading up and down the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. I caught a bass. I think this spot is fished out.

My biceps are still a tad sore from doing the Reeve’s style incline curls. Upon further review, I might add those to my routine.

This afternoon was good. After a nine hour drive yesterday it was good to move and strength train today.

Normally I would tell you I will see you Saturday, however, I have a dental implant going in tomorrow. Who would have thought when I was ten, fifty years ago, and I was hit in the pie hole with a baseball, I would still be having issues? Anyway, we will see what limits I might have post implant.

See you Saturday!

Edit: I was going to ask of this, if anyone would like to answer. Is anyone employing blood flow restriction? If so, how do you like it? Thank You…

Pre Workout: 12 oz of coffee

Interesting when we approach a workout feeling like :poop: and we end up surprising ourselves.

So it was this morning. I woke at 7:00 AM stiff and sore. My mouth hurt due to the implant. I did dips this morning. Real dips. You will see.

I also finished a training log, I have started a second!

No Airdyne this morning. I waded the river last evening for two hours. I caught… a T-shirt.

See you Tuesday!

You have had a really busy last couple of days. Kudos for training after a 9 hour car ride and then getting a dental implant on top of it.

At least you caught something while out there wading around.

Congrats on finishing a log book and doing real dips!

The trout hunter is back! :joy:. I pulled in two good sized rainbow on the Thurman Ridge (east Idaho) this afternoon. I think the bald eagle I saw snare one flew off with the catch of the day.

I have not done this particular workout since July 22. I felt good. Plus, it has been a week since I put in a HIIT pedal on the Airdyne or exercycle. That felt good as well. I made 3.5 miles total.

Edit: I got is an extra leg workout in this evening. I was trout fishing. I wade up and down the river. Tonight I waded around a willow, just as a moose the size of our Sorento walked into the same river 20-30 feet in front of me. I did not panic, but I power waded back to where I had come from. I got the thigh burn going and the heart rate up.

That is wild! I may not have visibly panicked but mentally I sure as hell would have! :anguished:

Yep. That is nutty. I would have been hoping I was already wearing my brown pants.

A good session today. My incline press was not as strong. But everything else bumped up in reps. Particularly squats. I needed floor time after the last set. My stress test I guess. I hiked just a mile yesterday on dry land. The deal was, as long I could walk, no spinal fusion. A mile is not epic I could have gone farther, but the doc’s credo was 4-5 years ago. Hence, the importance of legs. See you Saturday!

Edit: After I caught my breath I felt good. And being inspired by another’s heavy bag work, I went ahead and worked the reflex bag for 5 rounds. I focused on jabs and crosses. I also tried to keep my hands up and elbows in. As my real estate on my real estate has shrunk, I gave my eldest my heavy bag and platform. The reflex bag is not a heavy bag, but it keeps you honest when you start flailing.

Well, today was a struggle. Sleep sucked. But again, overall, other than being interrupted by a sour stomach several times, but today’s session was OK. One more dip. Negative pull ups were decent. The Airdyne ride was 3.5 miles. The :30 sprints had me sucking wind.

On another note, I bought a one person infrared dry sauna. I thought if I put it in someplace obvious, my wife might not notice. A fail. See you Tuesday!

You have to cover things you don’t want other people to see with chores, so they’ll avoid it.

Congrats on the sauna! Not sure if the car will still fit in the garage so might need to find another hiding place. :joy:

I did move the box, I was afraid it would land on my car if one of our robust wind gusts popped the door open and flipped the handcart and box over.

Sounds good. All you need now is the ice bath and you’ll be all set!

Very cool in the Mountain West this morning. I got caught on the Henry’s Fork fishing rod in hand when the lightning started. I was on my way!

The bands I use (shock rings) were cooler, and more resistant this morning. Not much more resistance per se, but I felt it on the bench press.

I rode the Airdyne for 15:00 mins. One min of which was Tabata, plus a thirty second sprint at 13:30. I forgot to check distance. I had planned on 30:00 mins, but I am not sure I have the attention span for that.

I have started redecorating what I guess will be my senior digs. I started with the shelves my daughter gave me.

See you Thursday!

A good workout. I muffed the resistance on the squats. Overall, it turned into a very good session. My legs did feel a bit crapped out. I stepped into a “hole” fishing yesterday. It was cold. I got chilled. More than I thought. Last evening was a bit miserable, multiple limb movement disorder and neuropathy. A winning combination. But upper body? :+1:

On to Saturday!

20 mins of sun!
