PP - you get your own answer box cause you ask to many questions and I might need to make you disappear
1- concerning calcium you are way ahead of the pack with your resistance training. This alone is the one thing known to increase bone density, and I have had the scans to prove it. You can find a list of calcium-rich foods off the net and make sure you incorperate them in your daily meals. If you find you have trouble eating enough you could use supplements. Keep the pop for a treat on the weekends rather than everyday. Think of it as chewing on your bones everytime you open one.
2- Regarding my job: I’m a sales representative for a distributor in health and sports supplements. The company I work for is basically the canadian distributor for big companies such as Gaspari, Supreme Bars, Scivation (Xtend), USPlabs (Jack3D) and many other brands. As the Quebec rep I travel the province meeting with my store owners to take orders, bring in new product, plan advertisement and store promos.
We have a trade catalogue/price list that comes out every 2 months in which I am encouraged to participate as a writer. As far as designing goes sometimes I need to be creative for a customer who wants a poster with his buy-in for a brand that has no promo material so I’ll actually put something together for them. My job kinda needs me to be a jack of all trades.
3- regarding my home - big thanks! I mentionned it before but the husband and I got really lucky buying this condo. It’s only 800 square feet but very beautifullly done. The furniture we bought with the monies from our wedding gifts at inexpensive places like Ikea. There are 2 pieces which are imported from India that we bought 2nd hand and love.
This brings up another MP question to ponder:
bring the bar all the way down to the chest or not? I’ve always done it that way, but now I sorta wonder if I’ve been cheating myself outta using moar weight, GRR!!
I know you’re lot lifting the #'s you want, but damn you look good, frenchie.
I think I may hafta get one of those t-shirts. yes. yes i do.
re: strength- sweetheart, you’ve had more than one person telling you that strength drops for a bit after a meet. getting IN the gym is the important part, you WILL get the #'s you want, just not RIGHT NOW. and you’re setting PR’s anyway! geez!
sad to know you’re too tight to spread your legs wide in the hip/groin area. <–See? sadface.
alexus - quarter mine or not she stole my heart away. Bro says he’s never seen her as relaxed in my place anywhere else other than their own homes. She probably knows I would beat the living shit out of anyone who places an ill finger on her.
MIM- I used to bring the bar down to chest until I saw the peeps in the 35 forum only drop it below the chin. I’m all for what allows me to haul more weight.
Bear- you will be happy to know that I have been working on my flexibility in order not to disapoint you. As for the lifting numbers - it’s been a month. I thought I would be all good by now. I know I have a thick head.
squat stretch exercise - took 3 good tries to get some flexibility going. I still look like a retarded frog.
about a dozen wall squats. These are the last two. Progress is being made, still some knee cave but moving in the right direction.
Inspired by Veggie who despite the massive gorgeous legs manages to be incredibly limber and Cbear in the hopes of someday finding use to this nonsense.
What I want to know is: how can you do those squat/stretch exercises and NOT look like a retarded frog? I mean, aren’t they called the Retarded Frog Squat/Stretch Exercise?
The wall squats look better every time I see them. Nice work sitting back too. They are not an easy drill at all. But the benefits are well worth the frustration IMO. They make me feel like a squatting machine.
Thanks for your kind words regarding my legs and flexibility. Great genes + hard work. Thanks to my folks for giving me the former and instilling the value of the latter.
Thanks for posting the wall squat vids, not only do we get to see your nomable self, but the feed back you’re getting is really interesting. So, yeah, keep doing stuff that helps me
Greenies - I would put 100$ on the table that Veggie/Nadia/Snap or some other limber vixen could do this well and make it look gracefull. I am lightyears from that.
Bear - I will rewatch the vid and take your advice when I do those (yet again) tomorrow. Well Montreal is most beautiful in the summer. Just sayin. Although with your crazy work/school schedual it might be easier for me to drop by. You think if I did we could drop by elite fitness for a quickie? Flagged by you and Peggs they’d give me a tourist day pass perhaps? That would blow my mind away.
Veggie & Pch- thanks for the thumbs up! I know these are boring to look at but the feedback has allowed me some good progress.
Nikki - I knew you would appreciate the squash
Welcome Charlie - Love the quote and a great way to start the day.
the spaghetti squash looked really interesting. just learned about those recently from this site. i wonder if we get them in australia… never seen them… they really do look amazing. nice idea to stuff them like that.
squats do look funny from a front on view especially when they are deep. i worried mine looked odd but was a bit reassured about that by looking at other people on youtube. it really is a very curious movement…
Spaghetti squash is delicious! I’m craving it now. I like it tossed in olive oil and garlic and all the cheese I can find and about a pound of shrimp. The meat sauce looks pretty tasty right now.
