Your goals sound great and there’s no doubt you’ll be hitting em in no time.

Its actually really neat to see your current numbers, which are in my opinion absolutely stellar - and to see how far you’ve come and where you plan on going in 2011. You’ve been so determined, and you’ve come so far! And now you’ve got meets planned, PL gyms to visit - freaking awesome!!

And can I just say a 280 DL is insane! You go girl! And 155 below parallel is NOT measly at all. I certainly can’t claim that. But now that you’ve found your stride with the squat, 225 is absolutely in your reach.

Anyways, you get everything you put your mind to Frenchie, that’s why we love you! So keep killing it.

Oh! And I forgot about your diving trip! So jelly. Pics please!

I always thought a dutch oven was when you release a stinky fart and then pull the covers over your unfortunate bedmate’s head. Not that I’ve ever done that to anyone. No.

I don’t usually shoot in raw because I choose not to devote the time to extensive post-processing anymore. I actually got some good shots with the ISO cranked up to 3200 and the 50 stopped down to 2.

I like your 2011 goals, and will look forward to watching you achieve them. Definitely a 300 lb. deadlift is do-able for you. That would be awesome!

Print- new year’s was very calm and safe. spend some quality time with close buddies, was very reasonable with the food and drink, went to bed at 1am and had some delicious buckweat pancakes with local maple syrup for breakfast. couldn’t ask for more.

First and primary goal starting today - I just realized that my diving trip is in 3 weeks!!! It kinda sneaked up on me and I’ve been in mass mode since May. The idea of fitting my butt in a bikini right now is beyond scary. Now I know I won’t make any miracles in 3 weeks but I need to at least get rid of the xmas bloat so the first few weeks are tight diet, cardio and complexes. Good news is this crazyness is only for 3 weeks.

In february I will go back to powerlifting in earnest in order to get ready for my first meet in March. The rest of the year will be focusing on strength cause that makes me happiest. I’ve also signed up to a PL gym in late november which I plan to visit once a week to really focus on form.

goals in terms of numbers:
bench:
current max 150lbs
2011 goal 160lbs

10lbs may not seem much but this would be a bodyweight bench - something I’ve been striving for for years. Anything after that 10lbs will be candy. This year I went from 135 with very bad form to 150 nice and tight and repping my 135. Good stuff

deadlift:
current max 280lbs -although I have not been able to repeat. my consistant max is along 255-265
2011 goal 315lbs.

I feel like I’m shooting high but that is my ultimate goal. If 2011 give me a 300lbs lift I’ll be seriously happy and I’ll work towards 315 in 2012. My long term goal is double bw wich would be 320 at my current 160lbs. This year I went from a 185 with grip issues to 265 with better form and using chalk which helped tons.

squat:
current max with proper “past parrallel depth” I believe was a measly 155lbs. 2010 was squat rehab year.
2011 goal 225lbs.

This lift is my toughest one to master. If I can consistantly lift with good form in 2011 that will be a major plus. I dream of doing a double BW but for now if I can get 4 wheels with good form that would be freakin fantastic.

As a balancing act to all this strenght I also want to throw in a few unassisted pullups. In my case running after pullups and strength is a very tough challenge but if I can churn out maybe 5 reps by the end of the year I’ll be golden. When ever (if ever) I tire of the mass/strength I can lean out and aim for more pullups and such. But I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

As accessory I need to keep up on my stretching and get a foam roller for at home. I think this about covers it…

so here’s to 3 weeks of heartache that will only get me more excited about eating and lifting when I get back to the main program.

Very detailed answer, it was cool to get the cliffnotes of your past training also. I’m sure by the end of 2011 you will be repping your BW on bench! Double body weight deadlift would be quite an awesome feat of strength; I’m sure you will attain that with your attitude. I have some trouble with back squats also, I have to take a reasonably wide stance in order to keep everything tight–can’t do the traditional Oly squats. Can’t wait to see you hit 225! I’m sure you can continue making progress on pull ups regardless of your weight, it hasn’t slowed me down too much.

Cool to see pictures of the family, cute kids. Definitely looking forward to seeing the results of your three week diet and your PL meet!
