Frenchie's Fromage

People suck, next year just bundle up with hubby and come to our place. We’ll have lots of turkey, tanked on tequila shots and do drunken famer’s walks.

So…can I come too? Sounds like a good time.

And, if I recall correctly, latex is traditional holiday attire in the South. Don’t forget your outfit frenchie.

P.S. sorry about the sad Mainy

Drunken farmer’s walks indeed sound like a good time. I’m sorry to hear about how you got treated poorly by your family, that is unfortunate. However, there’s always something to be grateful for. You were able to enjoy the holiday with your husband at least–some people don’t have anyone to share the holiday season with. I’m sure you will find a good use or cause for the toys and groceries.

All the best,

-Andrew

Oh I should mention the EXACT same thing happen to me and the wife. Everybody got scared of the snow and canceled.

Damn, some people have no manners.
I’m sorry about your ruined party :frowning:

Ouch. Frenchie has a major sad.

Did not learn before noon today that no one was going to show up at my supper. Eveyone cancelled and the weather was fine too. Gifts for the kiddies, down the drain. 150$ worth of groceries, down the drain. Christmas tree, no reason to be up. All the time and energy wasted. Seriously, if they knew no one was going to drive an hour to come to my place why did they not say so before hand?? Fuck. This really hurts.[/quote]

awwww… damn that sucks :frowning:
I would be so mad. Yes, when I am mad it is usually really hurt feelings.

Here is a bunny hugging an elephant.

(side note- im really digging hallowed and her bunnehs)

mainy, i think it’s the good and responsible thing to do to 1) eat the food you want 2) donate the rest or even all of it 3)along with the toys 4) send out cards to those who didn’t show.

the card should say something like,

“because you didn’t come to Christmas at my house, i was able to donate all of the food and presents to those in REAL need, who appreciated the bright spot in what can be such a dark season.”

and then tell them what their present would have been.

make it a “thank you” card.

forget hugs and head pats, i’ll give you a glute/hip massage to make it all better.

Thank you for all the well wishes people. I had suppers from the 24 through today and that was the only hitch. Supper on the 25th at my mom was nice and quiet with plenty of sugary treats as only a grandma could over-do. Yesterday my brother hosted a supper with more family and yummy food and today I’m taking my two big nieces (8&5) to the biodome (think indoor zoo/ecosystem of sorts). We are going to have an adventure of a day and end it with more food and more presents…

As for the food stuffs, I brought some to my bro’s yesterday, I plan on going to see my Mom tomorrow and drive down with the extra gifts and food. She has a few friends in her circle who could really use a hand at this time of year. So it will be a donation but more personal because I know these people.

New years plan aren’t settled yet but I have a feeling I will be killing it when I get back to the gym after this extended break. I’ll finally be able to throw some heavy crap around again

Kimba- you’re right. I enjoyed my tree and that was reason enough to set it up.

Brute - and you could have brought loads back home with ya too

Joe- tequila and drunken farmers walks for the win!! We drive a subaru. no weather keeps us away from good food and drinks. But snow in Alabama?? how many inches did you get?

Git - me wearing that little number would be most inconsiderate of Joe’s spouse, but I’ll allow you that daydream…

Chi - you are right, I have a good husband, and some fantastic people as my family. It wasn’t all bad at all. Did I mention I got to see my cookie-face and play with her and get plenty of hugs 3 times this week? My brother’s wife actually told me if I wanted an egg she would be willing to donate it for me. To get out of her hair I suppose? lol, just teasing. But the offer was rather sweet and unexptected.

Hallowed - that pic is beyond cute. I think my brain imploded…

Bear - I’ll take that massage without arguing although I haven’t done much to deserve it. I intend to make up for all this crazy eating next week at the gym. I should be able to deadlift 315 right!?

Cheers

I, for one, will be looking for you to be moving some serious iron starting next week.

Nothing keeps you down for long, missy!

We got less than an inch of snow and it didn’t stick to the roads. But here snow is like a sign from god to stay home.

Hey there, sorry to read about the no-shows, but it sounds like everything else went well. I know what you mean about an extended break, I’ll be looking forward to reading your progress in the new year. Speaking of which, do you happen to know if there will be fireworks at the old port on NYE? Looking for something cheap to do with my bf while he is in the city.

correction. WE should be able to DL 315.

Diana - yes at midnight:

cool, I should have googled that, thanks!

I’ll fess up and say not much on the lifting scene. Today was time spent alone which was much needed after all the festivities. I managed a little housework, much internet loss of time, a 2 hour nap, worked on my xmas pics, played 2 hours of LOTR online and just spent some more time learning how to work my digital camera properly.

I was having issues trying to encompass all my subjects when I was dealing with more than 1 person/thing. Spent a few minutes discussing with an uncle who knows quite a bit and he told me to read up on aperture. I’ve been doing my Iso and shutter speed choices manually but not the aperture. I will be going fully manual from now on. I’m finally getting a better grasp on this and will have the opportunity to really let my 50mm shine.

I’m taking this to the next level. lol.
kinda exciting.

on a different note I realized how “sensitive” (read crybaby and such) I’ve been the last few days which is NOT in my nature. I think the bad food, lack of sleep, oversocializing

On a positive note new years is going to be spent with a couple of our best buddies. We’ll be sleeping over so that we can all have a good time without worrying about driving back home. Which also means a fab group effort brunch. Count me in!

kitchen scene

Sounds quite tasty, I used to love those group stay overs until people got a bit to merry and started making merry with the wrong person.

umm ouch…

It will be just the 4 of us and we have been best buds and double dating for 10 years. Now I’m not saying this can’t happen but I would be incredibly surprised.

Gosh, I guess all of my group sleepovers have been pretty dull.

Frenchy, have a great New Year’s! Once again, this is not a favored holiday of mine, but we’ll see how faking it till I make it works.
