Your working muscles have no idea how the stress they feel is being generated. Sure some options will better recruit secondary movers, but that’s another story.

The biggest and strongest people have always, always used a variety of tools. Limiting yourself to just one implement (barbells only, kettlebells only, whatever) means you’re compromising results for convenience and simplicity.
