Free Comic Book Day is Tomorrow.

This is how it works. You show up and you get a bunch of free comics.

What I’m looking to pick up:

Irredeemable #1 by Mark Waid and Peter Krause. Published by Boom! Studios.
Tomorrow you can pick up Irredeemable #1 for free. If you like it then the 12 issue series is available in two trade paperback volumes.

G.I. JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO #155½
Larry Hama is back after 15 years, but all you really need to know is that Cobra won. Cobra now controls the world. I don’t think the GI Joes are just going to roll over and let Cobra Commander do whatever he wants. Do you?

IRON MAN/THOR
Thor seems to have gotten over the whole Tony-Stark-cloned-me-and-used-my-doppelganger-to-kill-and-maim-my-old-Avengers-pals thing, and are now teaming up to save the Earth from Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

WAR OF THE SUPERMEN #0
Superman is going to fight General Zod and 100,000 of his Kryptonian buddies in an all out war for the Earth.

DEL REY SHOWCASE
Basically its 32 pages of previews for Del Ray’s upcoming comics and graphic novels. I’m interested in two of the upcoming stories authored by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Plus titles like “The Last Airbender” and “Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies: The Graphic Novel” have me interested.

THE SIXTH GUN #1
I know nothing about this project, but the tag line sounds damn interesting.
During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. In time, the Sixth Gun - the most dangerous of the weapons - vanished. When the gun resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way!

THE STUFF OF LEGEND: MORTAL INSTRUMENTS PREVIEW
Don’t be left in “The Dark” this year, as Th3rd World Studios presents not only a recap of the toys’ first adventure from The Stuff of Legend Volume I, The Dark, but also a first look at Volume 2, The Jungle coming in June. Also, get your first look at Th3rd World’s adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s New York Times best-selling novel, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, a young adult fantasy series in which a young teen girl discovers a shadowy world filled with demon-hunting warriors.

I know in addition to the free comics my comic book store will be having a store wide sale. 30% off trade paperbacks, 25% off the monthly issues, and $1 back issues. I would be surprised if other stores weren’t having their own sales. So grab the kids, the wife/girlfriend, Mom/Dad or whoever and hit up your local comic book store. There is more to comics than capes & cowls and pretty pictures. No matter who you are there is a story for you.

Dangit, and I’m cutting back on new issues.

Later, I guess.

This is why I love T-Nation.

Dr. Solar AND Magnus, Robot Fighter. Duck yeah.

I wouldn’t mind getting the Superman one I missed the blackest night one last year and had to buy it a month later when they New England COmics got another bunch. DC>Marvel

I picked up “Dr. Solar and Magnus” too.

Had to update my pull list because of all the new DC stuff gearing up this month.

Zatanna is getting her own title

Geoff Johns will be writing “The Flash” again.

A new run of “Legion of Superheroes” is coming.

A new Green Arrow title is coming.

“Justice League: Generation Lost” looks to be starring Captain Atom, Booster Gold, Fire, and Ice. Which makes me happy. Something about a hot Brazilian chica being best friends with a hot Norwegian babe gives me warm fuzzy feelings. I guess this means Ice was resurrected after “Darkest Night”.

Best of all Gail Simone is teaming up again with Ed Benes to continue “Birds of Prey”. Simone and Benes make for an awesome team, probably the best in the business.

Add to that the whole “Brightest Day” and “Earth vs Krypton” stuff and I am gonna have a full pull box.

Your avatar has a 7’ pussy; your argument is invalid.

Ice has been around for the last few years now I don’t remember how she was brought back. She did get a black lantern ring during Blackest Night but so did Superman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, and Conner Kent
The best part of Blackest Night was Guy getting a red(rage) ring and opening up a case of whoop ass on all the corps until Mogo calmed him down. That ended with Mogo telling Guy je needed a blue lantewrn(hope) to fully remove the rage influence, to date he has not so hopefully we see a red Guy again

Ice must have been sitting on the sidelines somewhere. I hadn’t seen her in the Infinite Crisis or Final Crisis crossovers, nor the the other titles I pick up.

BUMP!!!
