Fortune Favors the Bold

geeze - I don’t know what you guys are talking about. My daughter never brought anyone home until college and then only once. I have no idea why, but I can’t even get the scifi books back that he borrowed… never saw him again…

I need to get some skillz transfer from you sol, pronto.

Cycle 2 / wee — who am I kidding. 5/3/1 took a dive today.
Damn you, RL. You had to say “sledgehammer”, didn’t you!?

Notes: Weights felt heavy, today. Really heavy. But, they typically do the week after a deload. I think I need week 1 to ramp back up. Although, the “heaviness” felt like it was more affecting reps than max strength. Though I felt it there as well.
As mentioned, I abandoned 5/3/1, at least for this workout. I went heavy, instead.
Also, I am really liking the internal and external rotations for the shoulders. I actually get a pump out of them and my shoulders ache less after doing them.

Dislocatesx10x2
Windmillsx10x2
Static Stretching - lower body, back, chest and shoulders

Bench
barx15
95x10
135x5
185x3
225x3
275x1
315x1
330x4 - PR +2 Reps - On a perfect day, 5 might have gone. Today was not perfect.

340x2 - PR +1 Rep - Had I not done the previous set, I think 3 would have gone.

Lat Pulls
160x10
210x10
235x5x3
210x10

Bench Rep Out
225x21 - not a PR. Needed 2 more for that. Just didn’t have enough left. My lungs gave out before my arms.

Seated Rows
210x10
255x10x3

Face Pulls
100x15x2

Internal and External Rotations - 4 sets of each per arm

Tuesday (squat day) will likely be heavier for fewer reps. This seems to aggravate my left thigh less. Not sure what I am going to do on Military day.

I will get back to 5/3/1, just need to do a walkabout, first. Please don’t tell mj!

Nice work. Lookout 350#, LS is on the move!

Great work on the pressing and the two PR’s…

So who’s the big PR whore now.

Great work, Skip. Your bench is really coming along.

Thanks, all.

RL, I think 350 was doable. But I refuse to put 350 back on the bar…and I wasn’t maxing. It missed its chance. Next max attempt will be 355 or more.

Joe - Hi! My name is Skip…and I’m a PR whore. YES I am  Hitting a PR makes my freakin’ day. I am a hardcore addict.

Jack, it feels like it is moving. The proof is in the maxing, though. And I’m not going there yet.

Big lift Mr. Strick! Keep it up!

Nice work benching, very solid.

Are you still on TRT? I was just diagnosed with a shriveled dick  and prescribed cypionate injections

Thanks Steely and Kevin. It APPEARS to be moving.

Dave,

I am still on TRT. Although, I don’t know how much longer.
I am doing Androgel, HCG (250iu 3x per week…EOD) and Adex.
Bloodwork #1, on 7.5g, I had a TT of 2000 and FT of 104.
Bloodwork #2, on 5g, I had a TT of 1770 and FT of 82.

I THINK that the HCG is really spiking my T. Without it, though, my boy parts start to ache like hell. The doc has me on 2.5g, right now. I have labs in 1 1/2 months. I suspect that it is still going to be high. So, I might end up just on HCG.
I am also thinking of eliminating my Adex use. At 2 drops a day, when I was taking 7.5g of Androgel, my E2 was 25. Right now, if I take even 1 drop everyday, my libido crashes and my joints start to hurt.

So, we will see.

What were your numbers?

Somebody better ask Santa for more plates this year!! Nice work Strick…Awesome job!

Lol…Santa brought some last Christmas. I now have enough to load the bar to 760#. If I ever need more than that, I am going pro!

I could use some heavier dumbbells though.

Squat Day

Still avoiding high reps, because of the left thigh. Again, though, heavier weights don’t seem to bother it, just reps. No assistance, to keep volume down. Few rack pull reps, as my back started to tighten. Aside from that, a pretty good workout.

Dislocatesx10x2
Windmillsx10x2
Static Stretching

Squats
bwx10x2
barx10
135x5
225x5
275x3
315x2
365x1
405x2x3
405x1 - Most reps at 405# in a workout

1st set @ 405# - Different angle to check depth

Last double @ 405#

Calf Raises
225x10x3

Rack Pulls - Pin 1 - 8" elevation
225x5
315x5
405x5

On a side note, I missed work today. I have slept for crap the past 2 nights…translated: I have seen every hour on the clock at least once. It caught up with me this morning and I spent the 1st couple of hours feeling like I was going to lose my lunch, so to speak. After that, I just went back to bed and slept another 2 1/2 hours. I felt somewhat better afterwards. Still feeling beat up, though.

Hope you feel better- and nice squatting, good work.

you are like Shrek Some of the vids make you look
much more imposing.

Great squatting but I want my ipod back. I’m pretty sure we have the same line-up. I just hope yours isn’t pink too.

Whats on the back of your left ankle?

Thanks Kevin. And I am built a bit like Shrek. I really need to trim the gut…so I won’t be as Shrekesque.

0_s, gotta have the hard stuff to listen too. I don’t have an ipod . If I did, it might be pink, though. Because it would likely be my daughter that picked it out

I was wondering when someone was going to ask about the “bump”. Believe it or not, it is a vein. It is a big one that just happens to run on the outside of my Achilles. It doesn’t help that it also seems to have a fat deposit associated with it. When I lost 110#, it shrank considerably…but was still prominent.

The pink ipod was picked out by me but the pink player belongs to my teenage daughter. I agree about the music. There is certain music that makes my eyes bleed aggression and adrenaline.

My guy has a vein like that on the inside of his knee and it really bothers him when he wraps to squat.

Depth on the squat looks great. Knees pushed out, good back arch and flexiblity.
No issues there that I can see.

Your weight is a little bit towards your toes. The carpet is giving it away.

Very nice squatting!

Squats looked awesome Strick…more lbs, more lbs!!!
