Since no one else has posted yet I thought I would start this thread. In the past, there has been a few good boxing threads. So who are people picking in this fight? I’m taking Forrest by decision, but part of me really wants to root for Mayorga. With Mayorga’s attitude, trash talking and aggresive style, he reminds me a bit of a young Duran. I’m not trying to compare him with Duran, talent wise just his attitude.
If he tries to throw with Mayorga, Forrest will get knocked out again. He can choose to be macho or smart. I think the outcome of the fight depends on Vern’s choice. It’s not like Mayorga has any desire to win a decision. I don’t think he can hold out for 36+ minutes without a smoke.
Yes, very interested in this fight. Should be tremendous if Forrest uses his boxing skills. It is on HBO, as I recall; I hope so.
CMC: pretty funny; and probably true about Mayorga.
If Forrest didn’t learn his lesson after their first meeting, then Mayorga will win this one, too.
I’m just curious about the Holyfield/Toney fight. AND Laila Ali vs. Christy Martin. I’ll be happy with a Ali knockout of Martin by the third round. Oh yeah.
